I have wanted to make a clear top for my 5 Volt Mod for a while now. I finnally did it! The molding isn't perfect- but none of my Detonator are perfect. It is still a consistant 5 volts every time the button is pushed, using an inline regulator. It uses protected CR123a's and a 510 attomizer. I thinks it looks cool, but the next one will be better. I need to make a mold so I can get the shape of the cone perfect. Then I need to put some thing else in the epoxy - maybe the number 5 in wire, or my initials in Gold letters? It has a yellow and blue color to it in the daylight because those were the colors of heat shrink I used- I might try different color heatshrink to see what that looks like. At night it really glows green and when the button is pushed the red LED give it a red, green, wierd orangish glow. I like it, but as allways I can't wait to make a new one- to see If I can make it even better.

Well you can tell me what you think- I can take it. I have been making this mod for a while now in different variations. It is based off Maddogs Magnum. I have made multi volt 3.7/ 5.0 / 6.0 dual button models that used Jb Weld as a top with cr2's or 14450 batteries. I have now switched to using CR123a's because they are a safer battery. This is my first clear epoxy top. My next mod will be going back to Multi Voltage 2 button but this time it will use cr123a's or 18650's and be 3.7/ 5.0 or 6.0 volt once again.

Here are some pictures of my previous mods for the new comers on this forum to see, and for those who don't know me to get to know who I am.

I'm 5 Volt Detonator Robert

Original Multi Volt Design - No LED's

Dual Voltage with Juice Feed System- Experimental ( Worked good but a little clumsy)

5 Volt Only with LED's

New Design Using CR123A's ( Still in the Experimental Stage! )

Can't you use some other type of top other than epoxy, I think thats what throws off some people. A nice metal one of some sort would be better, don't know I'm not a modder.

I don't make these for other people, although I have sold a few. I make these first off for myself. I also have a DIY tutorial on Youtube teaching others how to make them for themselves.

that's pretty slick there. I like the fact that you can see the "insides"

Looks kinda "Alien" with the green LED glowing thru the clear. If I had the loot, I get one from you just like that....I understand you want to get the cone shape "better looking/more shapely" but honestly, I like it how it is.

Thanks and btw - On Youtube ( BaileyEFT ) ( 5 Volt Detonator ) I have a DIY showing you how to make your own ( it is still uploading and may take a while!!) - I don't show the clear epoxy being put on - but I will as soon as I make the next one. For now here are some more pix.

Cool. I've tried my hand at making my own, but it ended in failure. Maybe one day I will try one again.

I would like to get something with a good hit to it though....maybe one day.
