To those that seen this elsewhere, I am the original author.

It's a shame that with the technology available to us and the proven fact that the things work 1000% better than ANY OTHER SMOKING CESSATION DEVICE ON THE MARKET, that since the right pockets aren't being lined the government wants to step in with their bs about safety.

Safety? Really... that's what they want to go with safety? From the people that allow cigarettes to be consumed in record numbers despite the proven FACTS THAT THEY KILL along with ALCOHOL which is also a POISON, and also proven FACT THAT ALCOHOL KILLS as well causing cirrhosis of the liver and death. Throw in all the pain and messed up families left in the wake of an alcoholic, and yet you can buy and consume that stuff 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Ok then, now on to tobacco cigarettes vs e-cigs. How many toxic and cancerous items are found in tobacco smoke??? Something like 4000 right? In test run on E-Cigs found on average something like 1 or less. Wonder which one is safer?

Don't look me in the face and talk to me about safety as being the reason for the ban, that's just idiotic. Everything in the things is currently in use in everyday food and other things consumed by humans. The e-juice? Ingredients: Propylene Glycol or Vegetable Glycerin for producing the vapor, Lorann Flavor Oils (or similar), nicotine. That's it, not a single thing is burned, no flames, no outrageous chemicals inhaled. The parts in a E-Cig perhaps? I don't think so the only thing that gets hot is the atomizer which is stainless steel which doesn't get hot enough to produce any vapors from the stainless steel or any other component except perhaps the plastic of the filter tip but it doesn't come in contact with that or close enough to melt it.

The bottom line is that the wrong people are making money on this and the "right" people are losing money on them. Who are the two biggest losers if E-Cigs become a rampant success and millions of people start using them and quit smoking tobacco? Off the top of my head I would say first off the obvious, big tobacco stands to lose billions upon billions in today and future sales. We are talking the potential demise of an industry really. It could open the doors to the banning of tobacco. Since you can get your nicotine in a safe and effective way why should tobacco cigarettes be legal anymore? That's the question they don't want anyone asking. The second group to lose big if millions of smokers stop smoking and start living a healthier lifestyle and you won't want to admit it but the health industry stands to lose just as much money as the tobacco industry from the drop in tobacco related health cost and care.

The really scary part of that is that these two groups lose not just this generation of smokers but the next and if the scenario I propose of banning tobacco cigarettes now that we have a safe and effective alternative with E-Cigs then all future generations. RJ Reynolds company execs are crapping in their pants at the thought of that. This ain't about safety it's what it is always about, money and who is making it. Don't get caught up in the wrong argument by asking the wrong question, that's how they have been doing this game since the beginning of time.

OK enough of my rant for now, 2 weeks without a cigarette and I feel GREAT!

Feel free to spread this to wherever you feel fit to post it, or link it. Thanks for the kind words but you really shouldn't encourage me, once I get on about something it can be hell for those around me, lol! It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see the little games these jerks play, you just have to ask yourself the question where does the money go, follow the money. Man for all his genius is still a craven greedy creature.

That's the hope my friend, I figure if it works for the man by repeating things enough times people start to believe it right?

How long do you think it'll take Big Tobacco to see the potential of the e-cig, get through all the FDA mumbo jumbo and start marketing there own branded and possibly proprietory units? I can totally see walking into a corner market some weekend and seeing a branded disposable unit marketed right next to the analogs. Possibly even little
3ml packets of branded e-liquid in a variety of flavors for the price of a pack of smokes.

To be honest if it was up to me they would have already hit the market. I don't work for big tobacco though so who knows? It's kind of a slippery slope for them really, it's kind of them having the shoe on the other foot since E-Cigs could be the death of the tobacco smoker (no pun intended) as a consumer group. They might not be too keen on supplying the nails for their own coffins as they have been to sell the general public theirs over the years.

On one hand you see the huge potential for not only a new market, but you are also opening the doors for LONGER REPEAT business than what they currently enjoy with so many of their best and most loyal customers dying by the thousands every year. If I was on the board of RJ Reynolds you can bet your bottom dollar that this would be the number one topic of discussion right now. They have the deepest pockets of just about any industry and if anyone could afford the research and development of a much better E-Cig than the current models it's those guys.

It should be interesting to see exactly what stance they do take on these things. I think they will see the huge potential for profit and be unable to NOT try to make some money on it. They know the power of nicotine addiction first hand, it's paid for their bonuses and houses in the Hamptons many times over. Don't be fooled either, big tobacco ain't about protecting the poor lil Virginia farmer, it's about a physical addiction that also carries some mental addiction symptoms with it as well. Big tobacco sells addictions not tobacco. I don't think it will matter much to them if it's nicotine juice your addicted to or nicotine that you smoke they will find a way to profit on it, that's how vampires operate, they need to feed on the living in order to live themselves.

That said I would be the first one in line to buy my Marlboro (tm) E-Cig, and a carton of the Marlboro (tm) E-juice in the 40mg packs.

Well, my pic is of my daughter, Virginia. I just love to look at her. I hope she doesn't develop this nasty habbit. She will grow up being taught that cigs, electronic or otherwise, are not good for you.
