| As you all probably know, the FDA recently gave it's 2 cents (that's about all it's worth) about e-cigs.
I will tell you why my husband and I started vaping, and then you to tell me why you did, okay?
My husband and I didn't start vaping because we wanted to quit smoking. We smoked analogs because we were addicted to the nicotine in them. We vape because we are addicted to nicotine. If there was no such thing as e-liquid with nicotine - we wouldn't vape. We still consider ourselves to be nicotine addicts and no better or worse then an analog smoker.
My husband and I didn't start vaping because we wanted a safe alternative to analogs. Though we believed (and still believe) that ecigs are safer then anologs, that isn't why we switched.
We didn't start vaping so that we could enjoy nicotine in restaraunts, though I must say, we do enjoy that benifit.
We started vaping simply because it so much cheaper then analogs. We were paying only $17 per carton for analogs by buying them over the phone from another state. But with us being low-income and on a very fixed income, even that was causing our budget to be quite tight.
We have been following 2 Bills as they work their way through Congress since early May. One when passed(and it will be) will make cigarettes and other tobbacco products non-mailable. The other Bill will require mail-order cigarette companies to add a customers state tobbacco tax to their purchase. Knowing this we were pretty worried because there is no way we can afford to pay $40-plus dollars per carton of cigarettes. But we found we didn't have to!
That's right! We decided to vape for economic reasons. The per carton equivalent price verses vaping saves us quite a bit of money and makes our nicotine addiction much more affordable then even when we were buying analogs by mail. Due to vaping and buying our supplies from China, we now pay the equivalent of just $9 per "carton."
Right or wrong, we have no desire to break our nicotine addiction. That's just the way it is(Mom)! And now that we vape, we don't have to as far as we are concerned.
If it becomes illegal to import vaping supplies, I will still import them, at least untill the first time that Customs confiscates them. Call me a rebel, but hey, I love that nicotine and I haven't the least desire to quit.
Oh, and by the way, my husband and I no longer have a smoker's cough, or rather "hack" as my holyier then though non-smoking brothr calls it! LOL!
So, why did you start vaping?

My mom (grrrr!) has at times said to me, "Why do you smoke when you know it's a sin?" and I reply, "Because I like it!" LOL!

| i'm smoker of analogs and weed since 16 or 17.
i just don't want do die too early.
but at this moment, i just can't live without nicotine, and i want to enjoy my life again (smoking and health problems related to it had pushed me away from sports).
if i can hold the normal cigarettes damages to my health with vaping, so be it.
and i don't care if e-cigs are cheaper or no than analogs, unless i need to spend like 500 USD for 1 month of vaping |

| Analogs were killing me.
I can breath again!
I'm still smoking 2-3 analogs a day (Drum handrolled) but now that I have some high-octane juice I'm gonna try to go analog-free starting tomorrow morning. I started on 18mg juice and it wasn't satisfying. I bought some 36mg and cut it down to 26mg and I'm almost to the sweet spot. It looks like 30-32mg is where I need to be and I plan on slowly weaning down to zero.
Wish me luck!

| I'm not sure what strength I'm vaping, but it's called "High" at bestecig.com (China) and that's what I started on. I found it satisfying from the begginning. Having the juice strong enough is THE key factor in getting off the anologs completely, for sure!

| I initially started because I like gadgets and saw an article somewhere. I thought "what the hell, let's try it" and lo and behold, it reduced my desire for a real cigarette! Awesome. It's the first effective tool I've found to quit/cutback on smoking disgusting analogs. I feel liberated now and will never stop vaping. My car smells a lot better now too. |

| Over the winter I had 4-5 colds that were hard to shake. I couldn't get my lungs to clear out. Since switching to e-cigs, it has gotten unbelievably better. My truck reeked of analogs so badly I hated to get in it. That on top of the cost of cigs going up. I was a die hard Belgium imported "Dreams" smoker and good Lord those things were pricey. Tack on the costs of extra dental visits and dry cleaning bills and you got it in a nutshell.
And besides.....they just look so cool. |

| I started vaping for a somewhat strange reason. I like the gadget/ritual part of it. I have smoked analogs for years and have noticed lots of health benefits of switching as well, no more funky cough, can smell stuff again. I primarily like the system aspect of it. For the same reason I like to shave with a mug brush, mug soap and straight razor, the procedure is relaxing and focuses the mind. I like all the bits parts and pieces of an E-cig. The batteries, atomizers, carts, fluids, the mixing and so forth has a very techie factor to it. It is amazing how fast I have adapted to the ritual. Instead of do I have my cigarettes and lighter, now its just do I have filled carts, charged batts, and some backup juice? |

| Very well said, Dr Dave. I've been pondering an answer of my own, but think I'd rather just say, "Yes, I totally agree."

| I saw a TV news story on them (In a favorable light.. if you can believe it!) and thought what a great idea!
Two days later I had my second stroke... the doctors said, "Your gonna die man if you don't quit smoking!"
Remembering the news story and not wanting to die here I am!
( In three short months I feel 10 years younger, started a new hobby and have over a hundred of "Little Metal Friends" & near a gallon of juice. I suddenly feel I can vape my way through Armageddon.)
Yes I'm good to go now thanks to Breakfree, renderwerks and Rocketman's input... oh yeah and a few grand.

| I started e-cigs to test out this alternative before getting the swamp lady on it. Smoking tobacco cigars wasn't causing me any problems except everyone though I stunk. I had to use mouth wash whenever smooching (coffee and cigar breath, what the problem?). But, I wanted the wife off cigarettes. So after a few weeks, I gave her the 901 kit I had bought. Thought it was a pretty sweet Valentines gift. She transitioned to all digital before broadcast TV did.
I'm happy she's off tobacco.
