I always get them from Super-T, but try Battery Junction-I know a few people have used them...

I get mine from www.lighthound.com. I actually make the drive out to their retail store now and then. They are good folks.

I was getting 14670s from them but I think they're discontinued.

What's the differance between an AW 18650 and a battery marked ICR 18650. Someone just gave me ICR'swhich were still wrapped up new. They look identical in size except they are green in color. I wanted to try in LT or Persei.

I believe the ICR is a "Lion Cobalt" rechargeable standard type battery..for those devices you would want IMR or the CGR/CH panasonics for the higher drain rating assuming they fit ok..Im not sure if the ICR would be protected or not

If your running 3.7V and can determine the batt is protected it should be OK like any other standard single batt PV..do the batteries have protection metal strips running from bottom to top detectable under the wrapper?..I would not run unprotected for the persei mainly because theres no low voltage cut off protection and that could damage the batt...among other issues
as far as a LT..no, running them on a boosted set up is a bad idea for the most part due to the additional current (amp) strain on them IMO..

I HAVE STUDIED ALL the battery threads (and the EXPLODING battery threads ) on this and other forums, enough times to know to stick with trusted sellers of actual AWs. But That's just me... Mr. Safety-Nut! (aka WyldRice)

I was going to try Shek's 18650's when he was cooping, but...
Nope! Sticking to the AWs, Thanks!

I can't tell if there's a protection strip. It looks like they are vented at the nipple though. Here is all I could find on them: GTL ICR 18650 Li-ion 3.7V 2800mAh.

the protection strip should be visible as a thin piece of metal under the wrapper from top to bottom..

lol volcano! -yeah!-
1. Super-T does test and post his results regarding all his batteries, and is local, so I trust him.
2. His site was down, I needed batteries, hence the thread.
3. Lighthound is probably most trusted, but at $4.50 more per battery- I'll take my chances with Elite.
4. I order the same exact batteries every time... within a day of use and inspection, I will be able to tell after a charge or two if it's real.
5. It may be a re-wrapped sanyo, panisonic, etc... but they work perfect for me, my devices, and my charger... I know them, how long it will last, how long to charge, etc... I guess it's a "If it aint broke- dont fix it!" mentality
6. Without a good battery (let's say at work) I would go back to smoking... So I can't let that happen.
7. I've been rotating the 2 AW 2000mahs for 4 months now and they work great still. But I have 3 devices that take 18650's now... so I needed 1 more, plus 1 back-up!
8. lol- yeah I love this siggy!

I usually get my AWs from supert, but I've had good experience with rtdvapor.com too

FYI, superT's site is back up. If it is still showing as closed, try refreshing the page.
