I'm going have to write PTB on my hand with a Sharpie, I keep forgetting about them when I go to the store. And the fish store is in the opposite direction from where I normally drive to and from work, so I haven't tried Fluval either. Guess I'll try ebay, ebay is lazy, I can do lazy, lots of practice.
Maybe now that I'm working the graveyard shift for the month I can make some stops on the way home one of these days.

Saints; Dats Who | I got Fluval foam filter elements. Fill it, vape about 8 puffs, fill it, vape about 8 puffs.
I'm getting the idea I got the WRONG Fluval (Fluval is a brand name...)
Fluval hunting can be a PITA. Make sure you have a good flashlight, a strong snare, and a durable canvas or burlap bag...
Never mind the flashlight...I forgot who I was talking to...
I heard the Swamp Lady's friend was looking for a flashlight, and SL said, "Look anywhere...you'll find one..."

Saints; Dats Who | So I'm a "Cheap Lazy Bastard"...lol...eBay does work for me during those lazy moments. PS: Mike: PTB wicks very well for me; it is inexpensive, reusable, virtually indestructible and not for everyone. Many have touted "perfect" filler medium... the search is over!, but I haven't found any.
The ZFM (Zero Filler Mod) is a plug that uses "no" filler like in zero; er go the name.
This does show promise and I am anxiously awaiting a broader consensus before I try them, but my 510's and fingers are crossed!

I recommend this:
I bought it at PetSmart. It wasn't very pricey (only $8.99 if I remember correctly), and it comes with three filters. The filters are approximately 6"X6"X1", which when cut on length and width fits very nicely into my 510 carts. I bought it a few months ago and I'm still on the first filter.

I made my ZFM cart mod fromsilicone potholder that I got from;you won't believe this, Dollar Tree. Had about a 60% success rate on the units, but the ones that worked were great. Don't forget the straw to hold up the silicone piece and a really small bite out of one corner for venting. When it works we're talking 16 or 17 drops in a 510 cart and draining every drop. The cap is tiny and has to be cut to the perfect size to touch all of the edges of the cart opening (except for that infinitisimal little notch in one corner) and it must sag into the support straw which is about 1/2 mm shorter than the depth of the cart. The sag is to accomodate the atty penetration when the cart is in place.
My feed cut in the center was an X cut through the plug which rested above the opening in the straw. Took a couple of tries but got it to work and the last 3 were easier.
Discovered KR808s and the ZFM is in standby. bikes

I got what some people refer to as fluval i think. it was from a pet store and is branded Marineland: bonded foam sleeve. it goes on to say fits all HOT magnum canister filters(for afish tank)
i cut about twice the size of the cart opening, while keeping the factory thickness (they are folded together so you have to cut them in half first)
I drop about 10 drops into the empty, clean cart then use the blue foam as a plug, carefully tucking it into the cart, flush with the top with tweezers or a paper clip or plant stem or whatever is nearby.
cap or condom until ready for use. Then drop one drop on top of filler (and one in the atty if your reckless) and you should be good for longer then a normal cart. only top off with one-two drops at a time or you risk flooding the atty. This will also make sure 90% or more of your juice is vaped, and not stuck in that nasty ass cotton.
used these up until i switched to a two peice.
you can buy 10 pcs for a buck or so, from strictlyejuice.com
(they also send you some free usually with a paid order)

I don't recommend foam or poly-fill for cart batting. Not even poly/cotton blends. I stick with pure cotton myself. I've tried poly & poly/cotton and those just leave a permanent nasty taste in the atomizer. You can't get the taste out, and are either stuck with inhaling whatever you are inhaling or you throw a $10.00 piece in the trash.
The pure cotton filters from Rena are working great for me and the only time I taste something out of the ordinary is when it's empty (at which case I taste nothing). I've never tried the foam, but I can't imagine it'd deliver results that are too far from the poly & poly/cotton.

Ok So i finally decided to use my ptb plug cart after leaving a full cart on its side for a day to make sure it wouldn't flood my att and it's perfect none of the dry atty problems that poly has i'll post agan tomorrow and let you know if it floods the atty.
Oh and it's a ptb plug not a ptb fill same type of method but roll it up so it plugs the top of the cart and cut on the fold so you can leave about 1/8 inch wings on each side of the plug atty bridge so basically no fill just the plug and a unpacked cart cart with tons of juice

Its a half sheet of PTB that is double folded at the top to form a seal and frayed on the bottom to aid in wicking. I've been using them primarily on a 510, 084, M401 which work well and perhaps a few others, but with mixed results.
I'd be interested in how you make out with yours.
