| OK, so I'm brand new to vaping. After reading up on it for about two nights at work, I went to a local truck stop that carries NJOY NPRO sets and carts. Bought a set, and I've been sitting here vaping at my desk. Pretty cool stuff... I've heard NPRO's are not the best there is, but hey it was available, and I got my kit for $30 bucks. I'm working on getting better vapor, did the tape trick and that helps. I figured out not to drag so hard, but longer and more even, after a few primer puffs. I hit it about 5 times and then put it up for a while. Seems to do the trick. Better throat hit than I expected. Also, am I a freak or what, every time I vape, I spray some febreeze around the office just to be sure... do these things give off any smell? My sense of smell is practically nonexistant, so I dunno... Anyway, here I am!! |

| Most do have a little, usually pleasant smell. Non-smokers will probably detect it.
Oh, and welcome to Vapeatron.
$30 to get a test kit to see if it's going to work for you is fine. If it works then worry about getting something different. I would suggest using the e-cig during your less stressful periods and hitting the smokes for times like the first hit of the day, or right after lunch for a while.
After you have decided that vaping will work for you (and believe me it will) then shop for an inexpensive kit, maybe with a little more battery life and look into some juice to refill the cartridges (or cartomizers). Watch it though, it's easy to go overboard buying stuff (been there, done that ).
Besides, your in a state with a very low cigarette tax so saving money it going to take some degree of self control
Best of luck,
Rocket

| Welcome Ape, I'm new here as well, and only coming up on a week into vaping. Cig tax here in PA is not so pleasant, so to make the switch for me can mean a very large chunk of savings, gives me some incentive to make it work, not that it's been very difficult so far, more a learning experience. Rocket | Easy to go overboard indeed, got my kit a week ago, ordered my first juice two days later, and ordered my second round of juice before the first one got here!
My first kit was a pig cig starter from Lecig. I was shaky on it at first, but in the end, I'm very very glad I went with that model, and I'm already considering beefier batteries for it. One thing I can stress ending my first week, and I'm sure the pros here will know more about the convenience and ease of use of your kit than I do, you may not find consistency until you get a good feel for your kit, using it and refilling it. I was questionable about mine for the first day or two, now I'm amazed at how well it performs, it definitely lives up to its hype. I think part of that may also attribute to the reclamation of some of my taste buds for the first time in years...
Also, be careful on how you shop, my kit came with two batteries, which I thought I'd need to sustain just myself, but with careful rotation and timing, my starter kit turned into two E cigs, which is great since we would have looked at getting one for my wife within a month anyway. If you're buying for just yourself, you might want to price compare just batteries and a charger. That was suggested to me, and if my kit hadn't worked out well for me for two people, I'd be kicking myself right now. Good luck on the progress!

| Thanks guys. I'm LOVING THIS!!! I had no idea that it would be this good. I'm puffing away on this thing, getting my draw down better and getting better vapor. I actually have hope now that I can stop with real cigs. It's been a long time and I'm sick of being chained to those things. The govt has to get these things tested properly and approved, because they could put an end to cigarettes and the health issues related to it. With all of the options and flavors/styles/quality e-cigs are gonna be super popular if they hang in there. |

As far as the smell, some juices to have some smell. I am told one of my RY4s smell like cotton candy but it is nothing to that of smoking. If people do smell something, they will not know what it is nor think you are smoking cigs. Having 2 batteries is a good idea so while you are charging one battery, you don't have to wait for it to charge before vaping again. You will also find that you will vape much more than you smoked so waiting for a battery to charge with no way to vape could be very unpleasant. Looks like you are off to a good start. If you have questions, feel free to ask away. Plenty of good folks here to help you out. |

| When i made the switch, i went logically ...... i figured i would have the stress of quitting so i went with the higest nic (Lecig 36mg) so i wouldnt be tempted to go back then after i was done "hell month" i would work down to a less tingly level. im at 24-18mg now and now that the initial novelty has worn off ive found a good balance and i can honestly say i will never smoke analogs again. tip: do be careful you will wanna expand your collection of PV's, and that leads to home mods, and THAT leads to inventing NEW mods, etc ect. dont get too crazy on buying different setups. Welcome to vaping |

| VapeApe, welcome to the forum.
A lot of people badmouth the npro but I got a mall version fora mere 100 bucks. Don't regret it a bit, I was sold on vaping immediately and smoke free in two weeks.
When you decide to upgrade to bigger batteries don't forget to get juice (e-liquid.)
your npro cartridges(carts) are refillable and probably came with 24mg/ml strength juice so that is what you might use as a base line when ordering juice.
A company called goodprophets sells batteries and cartomisers for that model if you decide to stick with the 4081(npro). A cartomiser(carto) is a combination of the atomiser and cart, holds a lot more juice(less frequent refilling)and is a lot more convenient for regular use.
Whatever you decide vaping is so much better than smoking so you've made a big step in the right direction.
As soon as the FDA gets this sorted out the price of vaping will triple so shop for your choice like they vote in Chicago:early and often.

Welcome to vaping | I started at 24mg, over the course of 6 months slowly weaned down to 12 mg . . . at 12 mg I started craving analogs again (though I didn't give in to the craving.) I'm back at 18mg now and no longer wanting the analogs.

| I tried to get to 10mg and couldn't hang. I'm okay at 12 and I'll taste test at 18 in the interest of determining flavor strength for possible dilution.

| Aren't enough hours in the day for me to go below 12mg/ml.
Maybe if I put two Dual Coil cartos on my Twice Pipes mod I could get down to 11mg/ml.
Maybe.
The Big Red cell wouldn't be able to source enough current for both. Would have to be one of the 'better' cells.

Just got my aforementioned juice from gourmet vapor, somewhere around 100ml, with three empty carts drying now.

| Kinda hard to hit it on the head, but here goes...
We've tried three flavors from our first order so far, vanilla extreme, cream soda, and marlboro flavor. Maybe it's just intended to be a mild flavor, or comes down to how they mix, but I kind of expected the vanilla to be quite strong. Out of the three it's more of a hint flavor or aftertaste. In any case, all three flavors have that strong nicotine taste, the tingle and burn left on the tongue and throat, and the flavors themselves are still a bit mild. I taste them more when taking a hit, and slightly when exhaling, but the nic tingle and burn is predominant. We have 18mg flavors here now as well, but I guess it wouldn't really prove anything unless we had 18mg and 24mg of the same flavor from the same vendor to try side by side for comparison's sake.
Maybe it's all in my head too, the marlboro doesn't taste like marlboro to me, but I really like the flavor of it, sometimes the cream soda tastes identical to it if I've used the marb heavily that day, and last night even the vanilla did untill around the 3rd use of it, then it finally did taste like vanilla, and for whatever reason, a bit stronger than usual. When I first refilled that cart, we had some problems with it, till I realized the wire in the center was up against the metal case, which I'm assuming shorts the battery and doesn't vape well at all, once I straightened that out, it got a little better flavor wise.

| truthfully Ive never noticed any differences between 18 and 24 as far as flavor myself..I did try a 36 once that somebody here mixed up by accident and was like wow from the troat hit being intense worse then an analogue but flavoring could have been part of that too I think..Vanilla to me and my lousy taste buds has never come through well in any vape to be honest..Equipment also plays a big part in flavor intensity as well...

| yar, it's been said over and over, there are too many variables not even considering personal preference, I've decided to give my Pig Cig and any necessary accessories I buy at least a month or two with various flavors before I consider trying a 3pc set or anything else.

| I couldn't tell a difference in flavor either. I had ry4 from freedomsmokeusa in 18, 24, and 30--- could tell not difference in flavor between them but if I vape the 30 for half a day, would get headaches. |

| Vanilla always tastes a little strange to me until about the 3rd or 4th hit, and then I like it. (well - the vanilla from LeCig, anyway)
At 24mg, I really like the hit but it does give me a headache if I don't drop to 18 after a few hours. It doesn't really overpower the flavor for me, it's just that the nic is so strong that you don't think about the flavor. I'm not sure just how to explain it, but I do know what you mean.
