Jacobl,
I am glad you got your gear back. This one thing bothered the heck out of me though. Why confiscate syringes? If cops suspect IV drug use the appropiate thing for them to do is to offer CLEAN syringes and needles not take them away. I know that it was just part of your e cig kit but this really annoys the crap out of me. What ever happened to the idea of harm reduction? In a world of blood bourne pathogens like HIV you would think the cops, health officials, and even the drug stores would be handing those things out like popcorn. A good friend of mine contracted Hepatitis C from contaminated works, (yeah I got ex junkie friends and I don't judge them), that could have been easily avoided if clean needles would have been available.

Was the syringe you had in your kit clean and sealed or did it look like used drug paraphenalia? How many people do you want driving around with little kits of chemicals and open and used needles? Ex-junkie friends shouldn't be judged. Ex-junkie friends probably aren't carrying their kit with them any more. Did you feel like you made a mistake? I would have.

On the other hand, you would expect a LEO to be aware and trained in all the recent trends, including e-cigs. But, to quote someone in a much more responsible position sometimes "officers act stupidly". And sometimes you can explain it at arraignment.

We don't want big brother or joe public thinking we are Nic-Heads.
I hope this guy in the UK gets a really good "day in court".

Junkies don't shoot up these days they get pills from pain clinics, doctors and other sources. The pharmacuetical companies are the modern day drug dealers. Florida is a meca for Dr. shopping. I've pretty much lost a sister and many friends to "legal drugs". I'd like to see the FDA and the police go after the pain clinics and the drug companies for not disclosing how addictive and harmful their products are.

Ya think he could get his syringe back then?

I don't want someone misinterpreting my humor.

I don't think it's a good idea to "push the envelope" with the FDA, big Phrma, Tobacco, those anti-smoking fanatics out there, or the constabulary.

Anybody know if you can vape in the slammer?

Here in Lakeland just a few.

In Tampa few more than here.

(I have seen them very at ease at the Hard Rock, but they allow analog use also.... ya just have to smell that place after you've been only vaping a month or so!)

Strangely, I had LESS comment since I've been using a Screwdriver than when I was using standard 901s with green or blue LEDs.

With the SD I get about one "what the **** is that" every month or so, fairly regular "that's an unusual pipe" comments and that is about it.

I used not to take the SD on flights because I worried how security would see it, but recently I've taken it through, UK, Canadian, French and Itaian airports without any comment whatsoever...
