| My understanding is they have to do with airflow, and ease of draw. So like...more holes is an easier draw but thinner vapour, while less holes is a bit of a harder draw but thicker vapour.
Someone who knows more can correct me on this though. |

| I believe that is correct. Ive been holding one or more of the holes closed with my thumb, and it produces a hotter, thicker vapor. But harder draw, and the atomizer heats up more than usual as well. Might be bad for your atomizer doing that regularly. But I like the result, so I still do it . |

Someone who knows more can correct me on this though. | I guess I didn't not realize that more holes equaled thinner vapor. I knew that more holes made it easier to draw. That might be why my 4 hole 801 doesn't seem to vape as well as my 1 hole 901?!?!
Thanks for the info.
BTW, I see on the 901 product page that there are 8 hole models?! Never seen one of those. Does anyone have a link? |

| Yeah, so far the 4 hole atomizers make an easier draw, but the vapor is usually less thick, and less hot. I have a new M401 with both 4 and 2 hole atomizers. I like the vapor hot, So ive been using the 2 hole, and holding one hole shut with my thumb as I inhale. The vapor gets nice and thick, nice and hot like that.
I guess the manufacturers are trying to make the inhale method easier for newbies with the 4 holes, but I think having a hot harsh throat hit is more important in swaying analog smokers over to the VAPE side !
Also may be the reason my atomizers are dying like a flock of dodos. |

I suppose pride is what they come in, but it doesn't sound quite right. A pride seems to conjure images of a hierarchy, as in a pride of lions.
Back to the subject... IF my 510 atty had 4 holes, would I be able to vape longer before it gets as hot? It produces great vapor, but gets hot really quick. I have had some benefit by taking two or three smaller drags as opposed to one or two 5 second drags. |

| That is odd, I was thinking the exact opposite. I have been trying to find a way to cool the vapor as it is produced from the atomizer. One of my favorite ways to vape is to fill my mouth with crushed ice chips and draw over the top of it. It produces a nice cold vapor that is thick and dense. What is great about this method is that as the vapor warms in your lungs, it expands slightly giving a nice "push back" on the smoke. This seems to cause the exhaled vapor to hang out a little longer as well. I would actually like to have something that would condense the vapor further before it was inhaled. Something that kind of put me on this path was fog machines. If you youtube "fog chiller" you can see this. A lot of people run the glycol based fog machines through a packed cooler of ice before discharging it. This causes the vapor to hang low to the floor and have the tickle the toes effect like CO2 or nitrogen based fog. This would be just awesome for an e-cig. Different point of view I guess.
If you think about the way water vapor (fog) happens in nature, it condenses around particles in cool air, this is why the sunshine burns off the morning fog as the surfaces and surrounding air is heated.

| Well maybe some sort of a tiny radiator mod. Keep the atty cool for me and cool of the fog for you. I toy with the idea of tubes wrap around a shielded atty, with a bulb on each end. I could maybe use old 3ml botles for the bulbs. You compres one bulb and it sends PG through one tube and into the other bulb. I don't relly think it would work well enough to be worth buiding, but the thought of it still ammuses me |

| hmm.. interesting.. would those tiny "star-like" attachments (Above) be used as a type of heat-sink to help dissipate heat from the atomizer? |

| Exactly, might look a little funky, but it will work.
