One day on this forum has made a big difference in my world

I am back with a whole new set of questions......

First, is there an easy way (preferably with visual aids) to help figure out what kind of bats Cowboy n i have on these? we think maybe we'd like extra batteries... and maybe a carrying case that also charges, or at the very least a car charger.
In a related question, how do i figure what kind of cart or atty to buy?
which is better/easier to refill, carts or attys?

It seems, after watching LeCigs video(someone remind me i owe him a hug for being so darn helpful with the vids!!), i can and will be refilling my own. Looks much much much easier than rolling your own smokes.....

And about that.....
There is a place i found that sells 500 ml (or a half liter) of 100Mg no flavor juice.... that would cut to four liters of 12.5mg nic juice or 8 bottles@500ml. Not that i have any intention of cutting it all at once

Can anyone tell me approximately how many refills 500ml of juice would give? (trying to figure out the cheapest way to buy, ya know )

Next... can some one recommend where to buy tobacco flavoring to add to the juice? Can i even get just tobacco flavoring? i can already tell you Cowboy wants a little stronger tobacco taste that what came in our pre filled carts. And i agree... i am enjoying the flavor, just wish it were a bit more pronounced. And if we are going to be using a non flavored nic juice to save $$, then we will want a nice strong tobacco flavor to add to our mix. I don't particularly care if it is Marlboro clone or camel clone, i just want a nice tobacco flavored concentrate.
I will be playing with candy oils in my mixes, as well.

a big Thank You to whoever posted a link to the one gallon of VG. It may seem like a lot for one person (and i am sure it would be) but there are two of us, aaaand, we plan on hooking a few other ppl on vaping... like his dad and step mom, and his best friend (who has a 3 to 5 pack a day habit).

i was reading to cut the VG vodka or rum or some such is used.... Can i use the cheap vodka? does it make a difference to the vaping if i use dark eyes, instead of absolute? Can i use a flavored rum, like Vanilla Cruz?

When refilling a cart which method is better, the one where you inject it in four different spots then wait 20 minutes, or where you put it all in one place and spin it? or is that one just for the soft carts?

and this is just the beginning?!? i thought i was gonna save a bit, but i can already see the $$ flying out the window as i experiment LOL.

Well, i have been vaping for 16 hours now... that is 16 hours without analog cigarettes, and so far, i love it. And i don't miss analogs

ROTFLMAO
Got a couple questions, do you?

OK, lots of info, different points of view in the DIY juice mixing section. Search around a little. 500ml of 100mg/ml juice is a lot, but if you really think you are going to stick with it could save some money. Most people start out with one or two months supply and experiment with mixing before getting a year's supply (two people).

Remember safety. Search and read up on e-juice safety, also in this forum. Deadly stuff. Got kids?, Pets? Safety, know all about it first. A mistake with Nic calculations can get deadly.
If the highest nic level you have on hand is something you could vape it would be hard to mix a deadly batch. If you have 100mg/ml stuff and make a mistake, or someone gets it without knowing what it really is, then bad things will happen.

Tobacco flavor is tough to get right. If you cut it with unflavored the flavor goes down.
If there are one or two flavors you like maybe adding them to diluted marlboro flavor would help.

Love the enthusiasum, make sure you know how to do this safely, and watch credit card balances as you move forward Make sure links you find in forum posts come "highly recommended". Just about anyone can post in here. Even crooks.

Good luck,

Rocket

wow, whole lotta things to think about there. just post some pics of the e-cig batt and we could tell ya.

ok for starters buying that much juice is jumping the gun ten fold in my opinion. you'd almost have to dedicate a room in your house just for E-cig purpose's. i would start off with buying a 50ml bottle of juice with the highest nic level you could find, (36mg or higher). and cut that little by little with VG or PG until you learn the ropes, then move on to buying gallon sized jugs of the stuff.

nicotine is deadly stuff...period. i remember stories from my grandfathers war buddys telling me how to kill a man with boiled down tar from fresh tobacco leaves smeared on a car door handle. (dead in 5-10 mins.) dont know if its true but why take the chance. be carefull!!

ok now for the cutting down VG part. i use just good old distilled water (or purified if you cant get distilled) i have yet to cut any of my juices with any kind of rum or vodka. i save them for OJ and Coke lol. i would think you would get some after tastes and your juices would take on the flavors of the alcohols. (dunno, havent tried it). but thats just my opinions.

whew! ok no more Q&A for a couple of day now.

oh one more thing.....it will be next to imposible to ever find a juice that will remind you of inhaling smoke from a burning tobacco cigarette. all you can hope for is a flavor that kinda reminds you of smelling tobacco and that might have a pleasant sweet taste when vaped. ~ChRi$

Rocket,
If it makes ya feel better, "remember that one drop of pure nicotine will kill you." is taught here in elementary school with all our other safety warnings. When i buy 100mg nic juice (and yeah, I'm pretty sure i will be buying it, at some point) i will immediately cut it to at least batches of 50mg, and more likely to batches of 25mg. That will really depend on what nic level my husband ends up at.

*grins* Sorry, i should have been more specific on my time line, i guess. Our first order went out today, and it was for 18mg camel eliquid, syringes, a bit of VG, and a few storage bottles. We know we have to figure out what strengths and flavors we like before we can buy in bulk and mix it down ourselves. Right now, i am looking for reliable places that handle TA (tobacco absolute), i have a feeling that is going to be nasty to work with, especially once i start adding things like amber, coffee, and chocolate, but eventually i will find an acceptable taste... i was talking to a local farmer and he suggested i check out some of what the local tobacco farmers use in their home grown, gonna-smoke-it-myself stuff. apparently you can buy liquids to add to a lower quality tobacco to taste better.... He said he would dig out a few catalogs for me when i come over and balance his books in a few weeks.... i will let ya know.

Vermont Vapor tobacco is the best tobacco taste I have found yet. Darn, ok, we will try that next time......

just post some pics of the e-cig batt and we could tell ya. - coming right up!! If you need additional views, pls let me know. But this is what i thought you would want to see...... And will this also tell me what blanks i need?

.....it will be next to impossible to ever find a juice that will remind you of inhaling smoke from a burning tobacco cigarette. - That's ok, it isn't what i am looking for... i like the taste of the tobacco flavor that came in the prefilled carts as part of our kits, i just wish it was a bit stronger a little more flavor, ya know?

In other news.... i am not sure if i need a stronger flavor, or more nicotine, but i seem to be forever puffing away.... take a puff, put it down for 5 to 10 minutes, take a puff put it down for 5 to 10 minutes.... repeat and repeat and repeat lol...And i know they advertise the prefilled carts i have as 2 1/2 packs each...... Wanna bet? My husband and i each have concluded that they are about a pack each.....

I have been reading on this forum for a couple of days now, and i am getting a bit pixelated, if ya know what i mean. Think i will go puff in front of a book for a while, or maybe a tv, or...oh, i guess i could leave the house, drive into town n be social for a bit..... i think there might be a few friends I'd like to show this off too.... hmmmm.....
Have a good day, all!
Em

looks like a KR808d-1. i dont suggest using any additives that farmers use in thier tobaccos. these additives are somtimes a slurry made from ground tobacco that they add to change the flavor if its a poor quality batch of leaves. (not somthing i wanna mix in my juice). just a thought, good luck.

Here's a little help in your search for tobacco flavor:

I got some Turkish Blend liquid from LiteCig, took 12 drops of that, and 12 drops of Vt Vapor Tobacco, and five drops of some Chocolate flavor e juice I have, and it comes out really close to a Camel Turkish Royal.

sounds really good. i just ordered a 30ml bottle from litecig the same time i ordered carts and juice from Mike. litecig has good deals on big bottles of juice but the flue cured i got tastes almost like maple syrup. not what i wanted, i wanted a tobacco flavor. this stuff almost tastes like an RY4. its not a bad flavor, but again not what i wanted.

(i love the nutty buttery flavor of it). i was just dissapointed in the fact that i got a 24mg 30ml bottle of somthing kinda like what i just bought somewhere else. its definately somthing i will vape, i'm just sad i dont have a strong tobacco flavor in my current collection.

The Vermont Vapor tobacco flavor is like a heavy Turkish tobacco, or as I realized, a Cuban cigar! If you like Cuban cigars (I had ONE in my life from Canada) you certainly can't beat this!

If I mix equal parts of Vt Vapor Tobacco, Litecig Camel, and Vt Vapor Mocha it tastes just like a Camel Turkish Royal, one of my favorite ciggies. If you leave out the Mocha it tastes very tobacco-ish, and if you add a little vanilla or mint you can sweeten it up a bit.

Don't know if you've noticed, but I'm a BIG fan of Vt Vapor: US made, you know what you're getting and the flavors are really good. No antifreeze in their stuff!

Another variation is the VtV tobacco, the LC Camel, and VtV Cafe Au Lait. You get the tobacco-ish flavor with a nut-like finish. It's really pretty good. Add vanilla as desired, or not.

I hope I'm not so late to this thread that the OP doesn't see this, but:

Don't make any rash decisions with large quantities of juice! If you do anything like dilute 500 ml of 100 mg down to 24 mg, you will regret it. Play around with small quantities, until you are 110% sure. Even then, there is no reason to mix more than you will use in a month or so. It "ages" faster after you mix it with something.

Keep it in a cool, dark place, and it will last a couple of years.

your right about the age thing in DIY mixing. i mixed up a small batch of coconut flavored juice and in the few weeks i've had it the liquid has turned 3 shades darker. i used distilled water and mkcormicks coco flavoring. its just sitting in my drawer, dont think i'll vape anymore due to the coloring of it now.

I don't know if it is just me but the e-juice that I have purchased tastes better if it "ages" for awhile. Some of it was horrible straight out of the mailbox. When I gave it a second chance a couple of weeks later, it tasted better. Maybe I'm just getting used to it or since I'm smoking less cigs, my taste buds are more sensitive. I haven't plunged into the mixing my own yet except for adding a tad of VG and vanilla here and there.

If you like something a little sweeter than RY4, try Tennessee Cured from JC. For a little stronger tobacco and less sweeter, try Sweet Caroline from iVape

I find all juices start to loose flavor over time so I pour what I need into small bottles. Don't buy larger bottles of ready made eJuice, split your order into small bottles so they stay sealed and fresh until you need them. When mixing my own juices, I also make small quantities.
