(inquiring minds want to know) | Citric acid is just there to balance the ph (the nicotine-glycerol-water mix is pretty basic before we add the citric acid).
Also, and I didn't think about this 'til someone asked, it may have the added effect (benefit?) of (slightly) reducing the "sweetness" that some experience from glycerine. This isn't the reason we add it, and I don't experience it, so I can't tell for sure, but it seems like a logical side effect. | |

NICOTROL® Inhaler (nicotine inhalation system) consists of a mouthpiece and a plastic cartridge delivering 4 mg of nicotine from a porous plug containing 10 mg nicotine. The cartridge is inserted into the mouthpiece prior to use. Nicotine is a tertiary amine composed of a pyridine and a pyrrolidine ring. It is a colorless to pale yellow, freely water-soluble, strongly alkaline, oily, volatile, hygroscopic liquid obtained from the tobacco plant. Nicotine has a characteristic pungent odor and turns brown on exposure to air or light. Of its two stereoisomers, S(-)nicotine is the more active. It is the prevalent form in tobacco, and is the form in the NICOTROL Inhaler. The free alkaloid is absorbed rapidly through skin, mucous membranes, and the respiratory tract.

I might take a few samples to the lab for measurement to see if everyone is neutralizing the pH.
Only had a few samples today to check. Some Camel and Redbull from two different sellers, originated from Dekane checked 6.96 to 6.97. Three I mixed up all checked between 6.95 and 6.98. None tested basic. 8/25/09 And my morning coffee tested 5.13
