Well, i got kicked from ECF because i got into a tiff with a 'supporting member' over there. Basically, this chic (salinna) was promoting herself as some sort of professional web designer, when in fact her work looked like it was done by a 3rd grade computer class student.

I just so happen to be a professional web designer, i called her out on it...and wound up getting myself banned. This was my first time being banned from a forum for basically no good reason other than the fact someone didnt like these ecig companies coming to me for work to do.

Anyways, ive done work for Altsmoke and am currently doing a new ecommerce website for Ikenvape which will be launched next week.

If anyone out there is looking for these type of services, check me out at Suffolk County, NY Long Island Web Designer Joe Mazziliano.

Im now searching for a new cig forum home.

Hmmmm...well, for one, welcome. Now, as an aside (or perhaps to the point...?) maybe this post should have gone in Supplier Hype. Nonethless, welcome, and to make up for posting in the wrong place, you could do pennance by coming up with a cool site for the link in my sig line...

Howdy Joe, I'm awful with code. I have to tip my hat to you. I'm reteaching myself 3DS Max 9, though. It's tough as I haven't touched 3DSM in about three years, but it's still fun. I wanted to download a ripped copy of Adobe PSCS2, but I don't know their attitude about ripped copies. I know that Autodesk doesn't care, as long as you aren't profiting from your ripped copy.

lol, i dunno if ill be 'glad' because it was for really moronic reasons...ive been participating on internet forums for 10 years now, this was my first banning on one. and like i said, im doing work for a few suppliers...not keen on them and anyone else from there seeing a big 'banned' under my name like im some sort of convicted forum felon.

whatever the case, thats old news now and im looking forward to participating here. also looking forward to putting Ikens new website out there for everyone to see next week. it came out really solid.

Well I would check that out, but being broke, I have GIMP. It's not bad, a little rough around the edges, but I get by. The worst knock-off though is Inkscape (knock-off of Illustrator). It's not awful, but it's a bitch to learn. I can't even get it to trace like Illustrator, and that's pretty much all I want it for. Meh... free is free.

Path > Trace Bitmap, click. There are some parameters you can tweak, but it's pretty straightforward. Now you can teach me all about 3DStudio Max, beginning with where to get a free copy...

Try GimpShop, it's a wrapper for Gimp that makes it look and act like photoshop. And it's opensource as well, so it's all legal.

A while back i bought a legit version of photoshop 7.0 on ebay for roughly 45 dollars. Unless you are a serious power user...thats all you will really need.

Id say that old software like 7.0 is probably still better than the gimp.

Magic!

You'll want a program like MAGIC! for it. Also, after installation, you won't be able to use it yet. Be sure to go to the Autodesk website, and download/install all of their latest hotfixes and service packs. Then do the trickery in one of the replies in the link above. They map out how to make a key for the program, and like I said, Autodesk doesn't care if you have a free, cracked copy, as long as you are not making money off of it. Buy a license before doing anything for any kind of income.

Wow. GIMP is pretty awesome. However, there is a STEEP learning curve. It's not real intuitive, but it is very powerful.

I actually learned it quicker than Photoshop, and I have just scratched the surface.

I'm still working with GIMP, but I too started on PS. I worked for a printing press company back in high school, and some companies would have us design fliers and posters for them. It also made it a cakewalk when it came to making plates for multi-colored prints.
