Here's a list of all of the FREE components that I used to build a VV mod:

1) 1 PTR08100WVD
2) 3-Cell AA Battery Box with Copper Springs
3) 2 TAP107K010SCS 100uF 10V 10% Tantalum Capacitors
4) 1 200 Ohmite Resistor
5) 1 38 X 214mm Vero-Stripboard (Will make dozens of Mods)
6) 2 Trustfire FIRE 14500 Protected Cells
7) 1 C&K 3 Amp 8552TZQE2 Pushbutton Switch
8) 1 510 Shorty Connector w/Nut
9) Various Gauges of Stranded Wire & Heatshrink Tubing.
10) 1 Blue LED 3-Wire Digital Voltmeter 0-99V with Precision Micro Trimmer
11) 1 62PR200LF Single Turn Precision Trimmer
12) 1 20W Hot Melt Glue Gun w/10 28MM Glue Sticks
13) 1 50W Soldering Iron
14) 100 Gram Reel of Lead-Free Silver Solder

Total cost, including freight?.....$0.00

NO JOKE!

The only thing I paid for was the electricity to build it. Otherwise every single component you see listed above was 100% FREE!!

I have so many free supplies and verified sources that I can build dozens of mods and never spend a penny of my own money.....EVER!

Would you like to be able to do EXACTLY the same thing?

For a mere $40, I'll give you VERIFIED sources, links, part numbers and detailed step-by-step instructions on how and where to get all of these components!! And if you don't like my choices of parts? No problem....choose your own. Your finished mod will be 100% $0.00, guaranteed! (I even pocketed $30!!)

I spent MONTHS gathering and verifying all of these sources myself! So every source that I send to you has already been verified by ME! If you have an e-mail address a name and a street address, everything you see listed above can be YOURS!! (And more...much, much more!)

I'll even send you the electronics "MORON" version (with part pictures) schematic on how to build it yourself, so easy a 5 year old could do it!

But if you don't wanna build the mod yourself, for another $40, I'll build it for you using your acquired free parts. Or, hire one of your friends in here to build it for you for less? I can think of a couple of people in here that would probably do it for you?

If interested, send me a PM and we'll get started.
I will accept Paypal or a Postal Money Order for payment.
If you'd like to view my selling history, you can view my sales on the ECF under "Shekinahsgroom".

And again, this is not a trick or a scam or a sham....it's for real!
Cuz if an electronics MORON like me can do it starting with lint in my pocket and ended with $30 cash, a PILE of free parts and a dual-14500 VV Mod....THEN SO CAN YOU!

Regards,

Shek

Hi Kali, I think I can do that...

And while I'm at it, think I'll just document a step-by-step building tutorial, with photos, for those of you that are weary of building one yourself. Have to drag out my tripod and set-up a makeshift studio in the garage....(Gimme a couple of days, K?)

Made a stripboard upgrade today that makes soldering 10 times easier and finishes bright and shiny solder welds that are fluid, flat and lay perfectly along the copper overlay. No more hideous globs, solder joining or weak welds!

Are you thinking about making one yourself or looking for a completed mod?

Thanks! Not sure yet.... just wanted to get a visual representation of what you are talking about and whether or not I can do it myself or will need assistance.

Got the "studio" step-up and have snapped a few pictures, but I have multiple projects going at once, so please bear with me.

Here's another FREEBIE while you wait....

http://www.3m.com/market/industrial/...sleevings.html
http://www.3m.com/market/industrial/...sc/sample.html

For those of you wanting to build a Hybrid/Genisis/Rebuildable atomizer and don't want to use stainless steel 400 mesh, the Nextel ceramic sleeving in the 312 (white) & 440 (pink) grades have proven to be excellent replacements!!

I just received 1 foot samples of 312 & 440 sleeving in 1/8" & 1/16" sizes. If you want to request the same sizes, (when filling out a sample request form), leave the "Samples" field drop-downs as they are, check mark the "Fabrication Assistance" field box, check mark the electrical box in the "Market Segment" field and explain the criteria you're using it for along with the grade levels and sizes needed, as follows:

[Looking for Nextel 312 & 440 1/8" & 1/16" sleeving. Will be used for propylene glycol wicking and Kanthal wire coil wrap inside of a personal vaporizer atomizer, so will need at least a 12" sample.]

Gonna try to rebuild a CE2 while I'm at it, see if the flavor improves using a CE2's existing coil. Should be interesting....

Well no offense brother, but I see a lot of horseshit mods for sale by hacks.

Gotta see some real pics, inside and out.

Too bad about about the crumbling, tiny ceramic particles flaking off and the coughing many folks have reported.

Pictures aside JJ, I'm not selling the mod itself! That's pretty much the whole point here! Spend $40 and acquire the knowledge on how and where to obtain FREE COMPONENTS so you'll never have to buy another mod again.....when you can make your own for $0.00!!

THEN, if you don't want to build the mod yourself and want to hire me or someone else to build "YOUR MOD", then that's an option.

I have another thread open, selling a DIY packaged VV mod, for those people that don't want to spend the extra time, shopping, working & waiting for components to arrive.

There again though, if you don't want to build it yourself, you can hire me or someone else that you know to build it for you. The costs will vary upon builds depending upon their complexities and whether or not I have the tools to make what you're wanting. Box mods, no sweat.

The Nextel is crumbling?

I don't see how that's possible considering its a fiber....??

The samples came with quite a bit of safety information and one of the topic areas described health concerns.

3M's info as follows:

Section 3.2 Potential Health Effects:

Eye Contact = (Irritation) Flush with water
Skin Contact = (Irritation) Wash with soap and water
Inhalation = (No health effects are expected) No need for first aid is anticipated
Ingestion = (Cramping, abdominal pains, constipation) Do not induce vomiting, drink 2 glasses of water, get medical attention.

So if people are reporting lung irritation, then they're inhaling something other than the Nextel wick. The fiber itself is extremely soft and I personally haven't experienced any "coughing" from use and I have asthma! No side effects from handling either and I have EXTREMELY sensitive and dry skin.

PG in an irritant, but that just comes with the territory of vaping for us asthmatics.

Hey Shek, maybe you can help me get this straight, as I am confused about the $0.00 part of your offer. OK, so I give you $40, you give me links to get free sample parts needed to build a mod. I order and receive these free parts, and then can send the parts to you along with another $40 to have you assemble them into a VV mod for me. I am a little confused, and please correct me if I am wrong, but wouldn't that mean that the mod in question would have ultimately cost at least $40 and at most $80?

Confused? Nope, you're definitely paying attention girl!!

You're exactly correct!!

What you're actually paying me for, the up front $40, is the time and effort that I spent gathering confirmed sources for the average user. It took hundreds of applications, 90% of them being denials, to gather the 10% confirmed component approval sources and the ways in which to obtain those goods. Some sources are "samples" but others are just outright free stuff! It took me about 4 months to get everything I needed to build the mod and in the end have it cost me $0.00

PLUS....I pocketed $30 and started with absolutely NOTHING! You might pocket significantly more, who knows? You might choose not to go "my route" and do your own thing....? It just depends on YOU and what your main goal is to be? My main goal was to do what NOBODY has ever attempted or succeeded in building....a $0.00 VV mod!!

But once you have the information, the links, instructions and "the little details"....you'll be able to obtain A LOT of parts! There's really no limit to how many mods you can build, it all depends on you.

Sure, you can spend $80 and purchase an already built VV box mod. But what are ya gonna do when it dies, fails, breaks or you just get tired of it? Sell it for half of what you paid for it and buy another one? Why bother? Why not get your parts for free and build as many as you will ever want or need......for the rest of your life?

For me it was a NO-BRAINER and well worth the effort!! For you, it may be worth $80 and absolutely NO effort?? Or, $40 and some patience? Your choices are endless....

But either way you choose, it'll be the BEST e-cig related $40 - $80 you'll ever spend, Kali...I GUARANTEE IT!!

I guess they are following the instructions to 'sterilize/prepare' it per 3M. The Blue stuff will turn white at that point. But it also becomes brittle at that point, with folks noticing tiny particles from handling it. More than a few have reported coughing for whatever reason and many have quit using it.

It's in one of the IAtty threads at ECF. As is usually the case folks start reporting how wonderful it is after about 5 minutes of use.

BLUE STUFF!!?? LOL....Whaaaaat?

The 3M Nextel 312 is WHITE as snow and the Nextel 440 is pastel PINK.

And I didn't get any "preparation" instructions, so I have absolutely NO IDEA what you're describing JJ.

You don't pre-burn it like you would SS mesh to get the oxidation coating.

And as far as "sterilizing", that's kinda funny actually...cuz PG is a type of alcohol. So I dunnow what you're reading dude, but you're definitely NOT describing the same material that I received from 3M!

Going on the second day now....no "issues". Just as good as it was yesterday!

Whatever the coloring is. To use anything like that in an atty without pre-treating it is pretty damn stupid.

Like I said the info is there at ECF.

Quote:
Ace, the sizing is tinted. In their technical notebook, it says after it is heat treated it will be pure white in color. They color the sizing depending on what material (nextel 312, nextel 440 nextel 610 etc).
Quote:
With the pink sizing, it was certainly easy to see when the wick was fully cleaned off. Again, haven't tried 312, and this stuff
Quote:
Beware, both the XC and the XS shed particles.
Quote:
Imeo, First off, thanks again for the iatty, it is special, you need to make more of them.

I tested the nextel wicks by first handling them over a smooth dark surface. The particle's off the wick accumulate very quickly, and they are significant and surprising.

After using the wick in the iatty for 24 hours I drained the fluid into a bottle, set it aside and refilled with fresh liquid. The used liquid is full of the nextel particles and they are visible to the eye.

I tryed using a filter in the iatty drip tip to filter the vapor. It filled with liquid very quickly, within a couple draws it gets clogged. So the liquid definitely is getting to the lungs.

I went back to the original wick. My cough, and shortness of breath went away.

Yeah....just what I thought.

This is OMEGA brand Nextel, NOT 3M! Same brand maybe?, but CLEARLY not the same product!!:

http://www.omega.com/pptst/XC_XS_XT_XL_WIRE.html

I followed 3M's instructions, so maybe its YOU that needs to get your facts together FIRST before calling someone stupid.(comment removed)!

Moving along now troll....go pester somebody else since you NEVER seem to have anything positive or constructive to say about anything or anyone.

Go start your own thread.

Okay...that's how it's gonna be, huh?

Allow the antagonist to have free reign to pick a fight and slap people in the face with "Hack & Stupid" comments?

Fine, so be it!

My reaction now?

Forget the $40!

Anybody that UNARMED and wants the information that I've listed in this thread can have it FOR FREE!!

Send me a PM and I'll give you everything in my arsenal....for nothing.

So since "Dismembered" is your moddo, JJ.....then eat it at smile! Cuz you'll have to pay somebody else now to acquire my secrets, dude!

So those of you that get pleasure from other people's pain, can pat JohnnyJames on the back for beating me down & breaking me.....

Dude, ya gotta chill a liitle and realize something: there's a REASON for JJ's avatar, and that's because he Shoots from the Hip!

He wasn't necessarily calling YOU a hack, he was saying he's SEEN some hack mods out there, and was asking for a pic! His style is a bit different from Kali's and you gotta realize that. Just the way he is. I'm sure he didn't mean to hurt your feelings with that post.

We have ALL seen some hack mods! Shoot, I BUILD hack mods!!!! All mine are is a battery, a switch, a housing of some sort and a connector. Nothing fancy, and they cost a whopping $6-8. Two are hardly ever alike (because you can't always GET the same pieces you made the LAST one with, THANK YOU, CHINA!!!!!!!!!!!!!) But the bottom line is, they work; they get the power from the battery to the atomizer as efficiently as I can make it happen.

Try not to take offense...I don't.

How about:

...you order and pocket the extra $30, then send all the parts to potential buyers for $10.

Then they can send the parts to someone who'll put the mods together free of charge?

They get a $10 mod
You get your $40.

Shek I thought you had a great idea man. You listed some cool stuff on that list. I can tell you one thing for sure, and that is I have 9 soldering irons. I have paid for everyone of them too! You got one for free??? I have something to do!!! I will figure this out damn it. I think what you were offering was a great idea! People sell information all the time. I think Barnes and Noble has a whole entire section dedicated to people selling information. At least you didn't yell and scream dressed up in a suit of question marks stating you can get free money to open a business!!!! I am sorry you killed the thread, but I am still going to try and figure this out. I am not 100% sure what I will do once I have all the pieces, but I guess only time will tell if I can get them all. But challenge accepted!!!! And for knocking or slamming other peoples work is just disrespectful and makes you a complete hack in my opinion!
