It might take a little experimentation, a little trial and error, but the tactical flashlights make a really nice looking package. I have seen Similar $30 to $60 flashlights turned into MODS. The one you referenced takes 3 AAA batteries so 18500 would be a piece of cake, 18650 would take a little work, and has 2 switches (one for Red and one for White) that probably can be used as sites for a master switch and vape switch.
These are a little more expensive than the $2 to $3 flashlights so a mistake building one could be costly. If you have a couple send them to me and I'll take them apart and see what I can do.

| I can have one shipped to you from Amazon, pm me on your labor costs if you think it's do- able. I'm not too familiar with 18500, any advantage or disadvantage to 18650?

| I was actually kidding. There are some cheaper tactical flashlights than the S&W that probably don't work as well as a flashlight but would be a "mean" looking Mod.
Let's see how you like the double barrel I'm working on first.
Then maybe step up in flashlight quality a little bit.
The 18500 is shorter, about 50 mm long instead of 65mm (see the trend in the numbering?).
A lot of modders use the 18500 when an 18650 is too long. It's pretty much guaranteed that the 18500 will fit in a flashlight that takes 3 AAA cells. Cramming an 18650 in a flashlight takes a custom flashlight stretcher The 18650 has more mah. And mah are a good thing to have.

| Crazy is OK, I can relate to crazy.
One of the reasons I like making these out of the cheap flashlights (other than they are cheap) is the
"you made that out of what?" I get whenever I show them off,
and then there is the, uh, somewhat similar performance to some more expensive mods
and it's fun making them.
BTW, I received a letter from you today. I have epoxy setting up and should be able to press the nose in before heading off to work. and if it's slow tonight maybe planish the nose edge. getting closer.
Just tell the wife that when the FDA outlaws Mods too, that they will be sought out by collectors.
Especially those ROCKET MODS

| Looks like a nice one Rocket. I bought one last month from Liberty Flight UK called the Little Gem, looks just like this without the quarter, really think yours looks better. The Little Gem has an led but so small you have to look for it in a dark room. You ever put leds on your mods?

LEDs just seem like a waste. Some like them, just not me.
The quarter idea (yours has a double stack) is to make the front end (where your teeth are) stronger than the butt end. The connectors I use either thread into the quarter, or are pressed in (takes a vice, and sometimes a little cheater bar) to press all of this together. Looks nice, but strength is the primary objective.
Again forgot to transfer pictures of yours out of camera. Should show at your place in Wednesday's mail.

| Got it! You sir, are a master mod maker! This is a piece of art Rocketman! I have a DB Silver Bullet and I started comparing the vaping on both and it's really hard to tell the difference between it and the Rocket DB. If anything the RDB may hit just a little harder! I tried both barrels first on each and then I attached a single 510 LR atty on each one, the RDB definitely gave out more vapor with LR atty; with both barrels the slight edge went to the RDB also. I definitely want to do more business with you sir. With batteries and atties attached it has just the right weight to it and the top with connectors attached to each wing looks awesome. This is really a solid mod! Thank you for your work and making my day, I have over 25 different mods here in my case and this one will rank up there with the best! Great conversation piece because it's hand made and obviously built well. Thank you so much and if anybody else is thinking of ordering a mod from Rocketman-do it! You won't be disappointed.

| Bump:
This is the thread I use to Hype my Flashlight MOD.
Using just one thread here in the Buy-Sell-Trade section seems to comply with forum rules.
The 'Cheap All Day Sucker' thread is primarily an instructable if you want to make your own.
8/26/10, Blue one in post 38 has been transferred to loaner status for a while.
Sometimes I will also entertain special requests
