| I’ve been vaping over a month now, and as a new vaper I’ve become increasingly aware of other vapers — both on YouTube and in the wild — and especially the different ways they hold and fire their devices.
For example, I’m currently tooting a Twist, which I hold rather loosely (like a cellist holds a bow) with the button on top, fired by my index finger. Contrawise, I’ve seen others using a Twist with the same basic grip, but button on the bottom fired with the thumb. Grip variations abound — I’ve even seen one guy with a very affected manner, reminiscent of Percy Dovetonsils — but they all seem to fall into one of two classes: button on top fired with finger, or button on bottom fired with thumb …
So, my question: how do you do the act, finger on top or thumb on the bottom? And why, if the reason’s not too perverted …
Enquiring minds want to know …

| I use both depending..I think the center of gravity determines which Ill use as far as how its balanced when I hold it more then anything else

| Yes, undoubtedly the center of gravity affects the grip, and if you're "balancing" the thing on your thumb it seems like it would be awkward to fire with the thumb at the same time, but I have no experience with devices or mods other than the eGos, which are rather slender and lend themselves to a fingertips grip ... other. beefier contraptions like the Bolt seem to encourage a more full-fisted grip and thus a thumb fire. Button position and hand size are other factors, I suppose ... if you've got hams for hands like PBusardo, you can bury a ProVari and fire it with grip pressure alone!

| Thumb on the bottom.
I guess I got a bottom thing going or it could be because it's just more comfortable. |

on the left is my saber touch, next to it is the battery(18650 3.7v) on the right is the mini i keep around which is an ego 300mAh. personaly wether with the ego or the saber i prefer thumb fire... not that it really matters with the saber as its not a button just a contact touch switch make contact with the stud and either end cap and your in businness :P

| i'v had mine for about 7 months now, it get heavy use and spends any time not in my hand rolling and rattling around on the dash board of my truck(semi) i'v had no problems with it, works like a charm every time. personaly i like the contact switch... no way to accidentaly activate it unless you for get and put it in the tool box or in your pocket with a bunch of metal pens or something.

The contact switch is a great safety feature ... I just don't think I've run across another mod that fired in that manner.
I'm also intrigued by that Legacy mod. Wasn't PureSmoker in the news a while back with exploding mod issues? I'd love to try the Legacy with the 18650 + Kick extension, but I know so little (yet!) about mods that I'm fearful of leaving the relative safety of my eGo Twists ... still, I would love me some power regulation—set your preferred wattage and forget it!
