| Well, yesterday (Thanksgiving) was the first mishap we've had in 20yrs. The wife had to go to work very early (3am to 11am) so she woke me up to help stuff the 20lb. turkey and put it in the oven to cook slowly until dinner later that day.
After some family arrived we're all talking and preparing the other dishes for dinner, I went ahead and removed the turkey from the oven to rest on the counter so we could use the oven to cook the other dishes. I was sitting in front of our Laptop tweeting and facebooking, when all of a sudden my wife yells...FIRE!!! being an ex-volunteer firefighter I sprang into action, as I round the corner to the kitchen I see the oven door open and flames licking up both sides of the internal fire baffle on the bottom of the oven, my wife is going for the flour to douse the flames, luckily I stopped her in time and kicked the oven door shut to smother the flames. I tried to explain to her that using flour is for an open grease fire in a skillet (last resort when no cover is available), if she had tossed flour into the oven it could have caused a small explosion.
So now of course all the smoke detectors in the house are wailing as I'm pulling all the batteries out to stop the noise, then go back to the laptop and tweet about our near miss, when all of sudden again, what do I hear but my wife yelling FIRE!!!. She had went and opened the oven door allowing fresh oxygen back into the oven while it was still hot enough to self ignite, I'm like you've got to be kidding me, really. Now the smoke in the house is even worse, it's like 35 degrees outside and we have every window and door in the house open for over an hour, Now I'm freakin' freezing, hungry and there's only one beer left until my brother shows up in a couple of hours (he was picked to bring the beer). I took the oven apart, had the girls degrease and scrub it clean so we could start over, that took another hour.
So this will definitely go down as one Thanksgiving none of us will ever forget.

| No mishaps like that here. I caught the yams on fire Christmas, 2 years ago browning the marshmallows on top of the yams.
I didn't get to do any of the cooking this year. (A major change) we went to family's house about an hour North of us. Turducken - y'all already know I didn't like it. No stuffing, no mashed potatoes, no green beans, no cranberry anything. The yams were good. Broccoli casseroles were excellent. The pie maker decided to try something new with the pumpkin pie. Not edible. Same thing with carrot- raisin salad. Bread was good.
The whole meal thing was odd. The most important part was successful! We got to spend fun time with family we haven't seen in two years. And that was the best!
I'm cooking turkey, stuffing, candied yams, and cranberries for supper Sunday. DH will be thrilled.

| About 15 years ago I was living with my wife and kids and her mother. The 'baby' was about 3 years old. About 7 AM I hear this tremendous <BANG!!!!!!!!!!!!!> and wake up out of a sound sleep. First thing I run to check my son to make sure he's ok, and he's standing in his crib smiling away at me, "HELLO!!!!!!", so he's OK. I check the upstairs quickly and head downstairs. We had an OLD gas burner, and that was my first thought, so I go screaming down the stairs, get to the bottom, head to the kitchen where the cellar door, is, WHIP around the corner and......
There's 25 pounds of turkey sitting on the floor....WTF?!?!?
My mother in law had gotten up at like 5 AM, prepped the turkey, and put it in the Dutch oven on a Baker's rack. The Baler's rack was FINE....for anything less than a 25 pound bird! Luckily, when it hit the deck, the lid went with it, so there's the turkey sitting in the lid, off the floor; the rack had collapsed and folded up on itself. About this time my MIL comes around the corner and actually starts LAUGHING! So we picked the turkey up, I set up the oven on a STURDIER table, and we put everything in the oven and start it cooking again.
PHEW!!!!!!

No, I finally ended up moving out of my folks' house (for the second time) and moved in with my girlfriend. I got a job working in a major landscaping company's office, and I haven't had time or funds to get back into vaping... or being online much. I didn't go back to smoking or anything, I just don't have any parts or juice that are clean. Stuff got messed up in the move.
But I'm still around and doing well! I'll probably get on more often when I get to vaping again. Meanwhile, I'm giving all of my love to the woman I'm with.
