| Thought I'd share my latest tobacco recipe with the DIY crowd.
It's a mellow blend with a light tobacco base and delicate confectionary notes without being overly sweet like some RY4 flavors, or perfumy like some tobaccos I've tried.
Here is the breakdown for a 10ml, 18mg, 60%-PG, 25%-VG, 15%-Flavoring recipe.
------------------------------------
6ml (60%) PG w/ nicotine (see below for using 48mg, 60mg, or 100mg base nicjuice)
2.5ml (25%) VG
0.3ml (3%) Seedman's Commercial tobacco concentrate
0.3ml (3%) Seedman's English tobacco concentrate
0.3ml (3%) TPA Caramel Candy
0.3ml (3%) TPA Toasted Marshmallow
0.3ml (3%) Vanillin Crystals (10% solution) available at One Stop DIY Shop
6 drops Tobacco Absolute solution (100:1 dilution in grain alcohol) adjust up or down for that tobacco harshness undertone.
2 drops FlavourArt MTS Wizard (optional, as the 25% VG already provides plenty of vapor and mellowness)
------------------------------------
To create the proper PG nicotine base for an 18mg final product use the following ratios:
If using 48mg unflavored nicjuice:
3.75ml (37.5% of total recipe) 48mg unflavored PG
2.25ml (22.5% of total recipe) plain PG
If using 60mg unflavored nicjuice:
3ml (30% of total recipe) 60mg unflavored PG
3ml (30% of total recipe) plain PG
If using 100mg unflavored nicjuice:
1.8ml (18% of total recipe) 100mg unflavored PG
4.2ml (42% of total recipe) plain PG
------------------------------------
I haven't let this one steep yet to see how the character changes, or made any deviations from the equal part flavorings, because I'm just loving it so much as is... damn close to an "all day vape" for me.
The English tobacco seems to dominate the base notes at these ratios, with the caramel and marshmallow adding delicate top notes as supporting characters.
This might make a nice starting point for an RY4-type tobacco recipe by adjusting the ratios more towards the caramel and marshmallow with the addition of a little Ethyl Maltol for sweetness.
If you try it, or tweak it to taste, I'd like to hear about your experience.

| I'd don't like the TA at all. Is it that Bulgarian tobacco perfume stuff?

| Yep, it's that thick, black extract from Bulgarian tobacco leaves.
It's extremely strong on it's own. A little bit goes a long way and can easily ruin a recipe.
The taste is primarily tobacco, with flower and spice notes (probably responsible for that perfume taste in some tobacco flavors).
Mixed with Pure Grain Alcohol it gives a nice (unless you don't like it) tobacco undertone and a little harshness/throat hit.
You could substitute straight PGA for the TA solution, or mix the TA solution at a different ratio... say 1 drop per 5ml instead of the 2 drops in 2ml that I use, in order to reduce the TA taste but keep the PGA effects.
I'll have to give it a try without the TA next to see exactly how much it influences the final taste.
I imagine it would let the confection flavors come through a little more since it would be reducing the overall tobacco flavoring.
Another variation would be to eliminate the Commecial tobacco enhancer and and the TA to see how the English tobacco holds up on it's own, but at that point we'd be moving away from a primarily "tobacco" recipe into something else.

| Hey Wiz, I have the TA 50% PG blend. How would that work in this recipe?
And as for Ethyl Maltol, I have the 10% PG liquid solution.
I don't have any seedman's yet, but I'm curious none the less.

I haven't found any juice that tastes just like a ciggie yet... thankfully.
No tobacco flavoring will ever taste like a burning cigarette... unless you go collecting from old ashtrays to make your own extract.
Pipe and cigar flavors seem to be a lot easier to replicate than plain old cigarettes for some reason.
Maybe because they have such strong characteristic notes. |

I saw scubabatdan's recipe as well for a base, I think I'm just going to have to do a little more research and possibly add some seedmans to my arsenal and start experimenting.

| Well, I went ahead and ordered several small half oz. tester bottles of seedmans.
Top notes:
1.Commercial Cigarette
2.Honey
Enhancers:
1.Virginia Fire Cured
2.Mapletone
Two top notes and two enhancers, just to try out on some mini mixes. After some more reading I found that since the top notes are concentrates they mix very well with your batches. But the Enhancers are diluted with H20 so they will probably be best used for making a tobacco flavored AG dilutant.
Shipping could be a week to 10 days according to what I've read.
