| Before I started vaping 6 months ago, I spent roughly $280+/- on smoking. Now I spend less than 1/3 of that even when I buy more new PV's and mixing supplies, etc.
A lot of people on a lot of forums know the benefits of using a vaporizer, but it consistently amazes me when people approach me while I'm vaping and say "What is that?", so I spend a few minutes explaining and giving a supplier business card or whatnot if I have one handy. I still vape in smoking areas even though I could probably get around it if I wanted to due to the nature of the device and the current laws because I *want* smokers to see me. These are the people who should know about this product. I have signed petitions, donated to groups and preached the Gospel According to Ecig at every opportunity, but...
I want to do more.
I'm seriously considering taking a third of what would have been my monthly donation to R.J. Reynolds a few months ago and purchasing a number of disposable variety PV's to carry with me so that when someone approaches me at the train station or bus stop and asks if I have a square before they realize I'm not smoking, I can give them one (provided they are of age, of course... I don't contribute to the delinquency of minors). I could also include (at the very least) a list of websites where they can learn about personal vaporizers.
I know there are people who will say this is a waste of money, but six months ago I'd have gladly rolled that money up and smoked it.
What do you think? Does this sound like it would make any difference at all, or would it make me seem like the crazy lady on the train that always wants to talk about <insert preferred weirdo subject here>?
Oh, and hello everyone. I'm hazy...or hazyrecollection in case you know me from elsewhere. |

| But what of the families of the R.J. Reynolds employees? Don't they need money to eat?
I think it's a wonderful idea to open the minds of smoker's to the great alternative we've all disocvered. You don't have too look hard around the forums to find the story of a life long smoker who can now get up in the morning and breath without coughing, can smell well enough to now know that their dog farts way too often, or even have to use their puffers less for those who struggled with an addiction to analogs and asthma at the same time. We're at a cross roads now where the legality and usefulness of e-cigs is in question (to everyone but us) and the more good press and good experiences we can muster up the better. It's you're money, and if you feel better at the end of the day than that's just one more reason to go forward with your plan. The disposable 510's come at a great pricepoint and if you save the life of even one smoker, I think that's worth it.
Now, the nobleness of this deed is somewhat dampened by the notion that perhaps by some miniscule, tiny chance there is some long term effect of vaping that we don't know about, you could be passing that along too those that you share with. Everyone's got a right to choose however, and I think if you take the time to educate people with the knowledge you have and offer them an easy step into the world of vaping (and at the same time supporting our fine suppliers ) than I say go for it.
After all, isn't that the whole reason for forums like this? |

| besides, when this all becomes illegal, you will have an established customer base.
you'll have to work out of your car trunk, on Saturday nights.
You could sell Specials, watches, e-cigs, and juice.

The disposable 510's come at a great pricepoint and if you save the life of even one smoker, I think that's worth it. | I *AM* one of those stories. I smoked for 13 years, two packs a day for the last 10 of it. Last week, I had to run up a hill and across a busy street to catch the bus (not to worry, I looked both ways...and besides, I KSA at some Frogger) and I beat the bus to the stop. And I wasn't even winded. I clearly remember an incident last July where I walked up to the 4th floor at the hotel I work for and I honestly wondered for a moment if I was going to pass out.
I understand that there could be long term risks associated with ecigs just as I did with old-school smokes. I'd be sure to stick around to answer questions and point people in the right direction, but I'm not the kind of person to shove someone where they don't want to go. I wouldn't be offended if someone looked disappointed with my offer and just said "No thanks". I'm not a scientist or a doctor, but I know that my sighs of satisfaction with my first morning drag no longer end in a coughing fit and a search for somewhere to spit. (Sexy, I know.)
I noticed nearly a month ago that I could find throw-away style 510's pretty inexpensively, and that's what got me thinking about this in the first place. I made it my mission to make sure every smoker I personally know had an ecig in their hand, either to keep or just to borrow for a few days to see if they liked it. I tried 7 different models to see which ones would suit me and mine the best. I figured I've made everyone I know aware of the fact that there is a choice, why shouldn't I let people I don't know have the same information?
I think I might try it for a month or two and see what kind of reaction I get...or what kind of trouble I get into.
-----
And as for YOU Mr. Rocket.. IF that's your REAL name...The obvious flaw in your plan is that I ride the bus. I have no car nor a trunk to sell things out of. It seems you have me confused with some of my other family members. |

The news and news paper print what is popular don't they? What people want to here about...right.
I also like the e-cig, my Detonator, and Vaping in general.
Maybe I should just walk into the lobby of one of our local news stations, CBS, NBC or ABC and start vaping away,. Someone will tell me to stop-
Thats when I will lie and say I am here for my interview. Mr. Local Reporter is saposed interview me today.
I use e-cigs, I've got a Detonator and I'm not leaving... Just kidding I wont mention the Detonator
Don't a lot of SWAT team members smoke?...... ok Rocket shut me up....My humor sometimes is not "gotten" by everyone either......... |

Oh, and hello everyone. I'm hazy...or hazyrecollection in case you know me from elsewhere. | I bought some domain names ( I collect 'em) just to make my own educational/personal website for my friends and family and just to put all the info I think they'd need in one place. I think it's a great idea to just do it. A disposable kit and small bottle of juice for $10 - $15 or so is nothing to a person who smokes. You should make them pay or it won't be valuable enough.
I had never seen or heard of ecigs and so many people still haven't. The 1st mention of an e-cigarette to me was the second I wanted it and diehard smokers who see me vaping want one too! A few people heard about them but it's unreal to them that they could actually enjoy an ecig or get "smoke" out of it ~ they figure it's a scam till they see a real person enjoying the hell out of it!
So I'm with ya, go for it!

| Hazy, Im sooo with you on what your thinking. Ive been going a little over a month now and still have the same unused pack of analogs sitting in my center console of my truck. I still like to carry around my 4081 just cause it looks like an analogue and then pull it out in meetings or gatherings just to watch the funny looks I get. Of course then the obligatory question and answer period. I was always a pack a day for 35 years and ever since the switch Ive had absolutely zero urge to use a lighter ever again. Ive had so many people who don't smoke who want them for family members. I should be carrying around starter kits but I really need to find a portable credit card set up somewhere!
The thing that always makes me chuckle is how much people are skeptical over what the ecigs might be doing to you as opposed to what they already know analogs do. I always come back to "Well Im already feeling better then I have in the last 5-10 years and haven't touched a regular one since the switch".

we used 4 red/blue on top, 2 in the grill, 2 blinking whites for head lights and 2 steady red for the back. We bought them from a train garden supply place and they had the resistors built into the leads so you just stuck them all together.

I saw the color changers but passed them up. Like the idea for the PWD, though!

| My husband and i have been thinking about doing something similar. We know a lot of ppl who smoke, that we want to try vaping. Those we know personally will probably be getting something like this for christmas from us. This is the best price we have seen so far, anyone find a better priced starter kit??
That website also has 2 battery plus home/usb charger starting kits for $35, but you have to buy juice for them, since the carts it comes with are empty... so for less than $50 we could start a newb of a lot better than we started. Our starting kits were $75 each, came with 1 battery the home/usb charger, and 4 prefilled carts. Live n learn.
We are also looking for something he can give away at work to ppl who are curious, but we really can't afford $25 for every smoker he comes accross... any one have suggestions for that?? |

| There are some $10 ($8 or $9 in quantity) disposables.
I would precharge then and put in a small bottle of marlboro or menthol.
Some newbies need a little 'hand holding' at the first. But just to see if they can tolerate vaping this is about the cheapest approach.
