I think Totally Wicked is your only choice with mega batts. If you wait around they'll have a 30% off sell but they just had one so it might be a long wait. You can get a 2-atty 2 batt + charger kit from cignot for $35 but it's std batts.

Tara, TW is the only USA location I know of selling the 510 mega-batt starter kit (3 complete e-cigs) but it's expensive unless you can catch a sale. There's a Michigan site that Starky said carried the mega-batts but their products are from TW and at the same price. But the TW products are definitely the good ones!

Electronic Cigarettes and eLiquid / Totally Wicked eLiquid / electronic cigarette eliquid nicotine fluid products

TW is Totally Wicked johnger....the name of a supplier. In here we usually just say TW so we don't have to type so much. like an abbreviation or something. It comes in handy but it can be problematic for dyslexics at times. By the way it's time for dyslexics to untie!!!

What do people say about Totally Wicked? I'm just trying to fine the best e-cig for my fiance to get him to quit. Smoking Everywhere is crap and he gave up on them. Batteries run low quick. Not much vapor. just a crap product. Who can recommend a e-cig with log battery life, lots of vapor and overall satisfaction. I just can't narrow one down. He spent over 150 bucks on the SE crap and we don't want to spend more money on worthless crap.

I got suckered my smoking everywhere too when I 1st started. I almost quit vaping because of them but then I discovered the forume. I've heard good thing about Lecig in this forum and I like Cignot your Midwest Electronic Cigarette store. for $35 510 kits. TW is good quality but expensive unless they are having their 30% off sell a couple times a year.

I'm so sorry you and your fiance got ripped.
In your quest for the "best" e-cig, I wish you luck. I am of the persuasion that there is no best e-cig. If a person is inclined towards persnickety in the brand of cigarettes they smoke, they may not have the demeanor to vape something that doesn't taste exactly like their regular brand. These things require a compromising disposition to quit, even if it's not exactly like smoking.

The smoke it everywhere you want ripoff is probably turning more people OFF than ON to vaping.

I suggest picking a popular e-cig model, shopping around for price, learn what spare parts, accessories, juice, are necessary to succeed and try again. If you don't smoke and you are trying to get your fiance to quit, well that might be part of the problem. Is he committed to quitting?

Most seem to think that TW is a little overpriced, but generally offer quality products (their occasional 30% off sales help).
If you pick a popular model, finding replacement parts is a lot easier.

Take my word for it, you will need replacement parts.
I've noticed most Newbies also have higher failure rates until they get used to vaping, thus my frequent PS "and one day grasshopper, you will learn the importance of becoming one with your attomizer".

So enough rambling, here are a few of the absolute best models

The 510, plain simple cheap, buy it anywhere, batteries don't last more than an hour, but by keeping a few on charge, has kept many off tobacco (me included). Mega batteries can be added, but still more than a single battery (more like 3 or 4 minimum) is absolutely necessary. Cartridges for any of the popular models won't last more than a few really good hits. Don't believe the hype.

The 901, old fashioned, even cheaper, mega batteries available, and I know one person that won't vape anything else (ecept her 905 which is really a 901). Still expect to get several batteries, atomizers, and a few carts just to get started.

The big pen style, 801, or 201 has a longer lasting battery and more juice capacity. Cheaper still than either the 510 or 901.

The 2 piece e-cig. I haven't been a fan of the Green Cig brand (I'm not really a brand name guy) but there is a model that I have been vaping and it seems like a good possibility to start out with. The KR808D-1.
Read up on it.

One thing to remember: You will have to have e-juice, refill carts, have spare parts, keep batteries on charge, and learn. Just picking up an e-cig kit and giving it to someone is a recipe for failure. It takes a mentor/protege relationship to succeed. There are tricks that make this easier.
Know the tricks.

Give up the search for the "BEST". It ain't there.

Best of luck, we are here to help (really we are).

Can't just say "510" any more. It has to be a Joye 510 or made by them. Too many under performing cheap clones out there and dealers who play fast and loose with the names. StrictlyEjuice was selling their "new improved L2 510" as a co venture by SLB and Joye. Boge/Dekang makes a 510 as does Feellife, the FL 510, and BestEcig.

Here's the "Famous 510". Unfortunately it's the cheaper SLB/DSE-510 clone.

Johnny,
When it comes to the 510, I haven't had the problems with clones that other have had. What really gets me is price. A 510 atomizer should be about $8, a 510 battery about $12, a charger about $5, cartridges about 50 cents each. Now if it's a genuine Joye, fine, just don't try and charge me $59 bucks plus shipping for a 2+2 510 kit, no matter what brand it is. I have Joye attys and non-Joye attys that have lasted well over a month (sorry Hachi) and I find it hard to tell the difference in them.
Want a 510 CLONE deal?
get 8 of the disposables from another of our sellers for $68 shipped.

Just my point of view.

I here ya. But the 510 style ain't really nothing to get excited about. Still small carts and batteries. But Joye was the first to increase the resistance of the atties, heating things up, lowing the ohms to about 2.3 ohms, hence the throat hit and vapor. The clones still plug along at about 3+ ohms (like the 901's), which usually softens the throat hit but seems to change the flavor, DSE 901 style.

Both my mods, the 2XAA box with one 14500 at 3.7V and my true 5V passthrough (uses a 5V@2A adapter wired direct) have 510 threads (actually from M401 atties). With the 510->901/KR808 adapter I cycle between the Joyes (when I want the hardest hit), the 901 for a change and the KR cartomizers (which work well at 5V) when I run out the door and can't be bothered with refilling. I have good luck with the Joye atties. Always store them upright, don't wait till they taste burnt, and rinse/blow out often with hot water.

BTW I get my Titanium Joye 510 (no silly ass re-names or 'like this or that' and DSE 901 atties from LiteCigUSA for $7.95. Carts for both are $2.95. Lately he's got free shipping on orders over $10. He lists his personal number on his site... and he answers if you call. Fast turnaround too. He's definitely an 'A' list suppler.

Time for a big battery mod, your no -frills Trailer Park 'edition' looks like it will fit the bill. Thanks for the write up.

Be good.

Grabbed one of these to jam in the nose, for that 'custom look.

BTW StriclyEJuice (those of the once SLB and Joye co-production) sell Megas at good prices, but check out the mumbo jumbo sell copy:

I like the brass fitting for bling trim. (available in high pressure stainless steel also) Adds a little cost, but that's what bling is, right?
Will look again next time the swamp lady 'sends me to the grocery'

I agree about the D-1 liking higher voltage. I don't do high temperature, but they whimp out with a low 3.7 volt battery. High charge they do fine for me. Those with adjustable mods might like something a little above 4.2 and less than 5.0. Sort of a compromise between whimp and heat, vapor and atty life.

Keep on keeping on,

4.2 produces a lot of vapor...now if I can get past 3-6 days per atty...

Thanks so much Rocket. I learned a hell of a lot from your post. Yes, I quit 8 years ago. I was a 5 packer a day and did it cold turkey. Never would have believed I could. Thought it would take a Dr. telling me I had lung cancer to get me to quit. But this is about e-cigs. My fiance smoked 3 packs a day and has heart problems. His Dr. said he must quit. We went with SE first and he was doing well, down to 8 analogs a day but then the batteries were going dead. He bought juice and was loading the cart. with it. He really is committed to quit so I'm trying to find one that he will like. I will check out the ones you mentioned. Thanks again for all the advice. I do appreciate it so much. Johnger

OK, sounds like you guys are versed in e-cigs. Refilling carts, vaping to cut back. I did it that way for a few weeks. Then off tobacco.

LeCig has a cartomizer kit that's a pretty good deal. And he hangs around here, willing to help out. I have tried his carts, not the kit.
Several have 510 kits, doesn't matter to me if they are clones or not, does to some,
ecigexpress has both 510 or the 808D-1, bought from him a few times,
Madvapes has a 510 disposable that seems to last for weeks, it's a clone for sure, gave away a few, no feedback yet, I liked mine. 5 pack or 8 pack of these would keep even a VaporHog going for a while.
I suggest one of these two models.

The Swamp Lady suggests the 901. She started Feb 14 and off tobacco on Ash Wednesday with kits from China. Then I got here 10 colored batteries and 10 colored attys also from China. She is now using a 905 (from Mad) with the assortment of colored attys.

The 905 is pretty costly if you aren't sure you like the 901. It's the only manual she likes. I guess you could call it a medium battery MOD. She does not like my Trailer Park or the VaporWeight.

I am pretty much totally on a big battery MOD, with adapters, and 801, 901, 510, 808, and 401 attys. But I don't recommend this to start off a newbie. Get your SO on something, get satisfied, then start experimenting.

Picked favorite flavors in juice yet?

Rocket

Rocketman, We're still sorting through the maze that is e cig purchasing. So many people with so much info. Who to believe. Saw a few Youtube videos on Bloog and another review on a forum. All reviews claim great vapor, great batt life, cart, etc. Can you tell me if this product is good. It sells for $99 with two batt. We are afraid to trust anyone after our scam experience. Would appreciate comments. You seem to know your stuff. Thanks. Johnger

johnger,

I'll jump in just in case da Rocket doesn't respond tonight and you do something hastily before he can reply.

Personally, I'd stay away from the Bloog as you would be committing to using the "special" more expensive and harder to find V9/Smoke51 cartomizers as the KR808D-1battery it uses is threaded to take only the aforementioned cartos.

If it's the 2pc style you want, go with a generic 808D-1. Kits come with same as you mentioned above (2 batts/5 cartos/AC/USB charger) for less that half the $99 price tag of the Bloog.

Post back if you want links to sites that offer the 808D-1 at a decent price. I think LeCig, on this forum, offers that model.

Thanks Furhil, I don't know if we want 2 piece or what? We just want an e cig with good batt life, good vapor and something to get John off cigarettes. There is so much confusing stuff about MODs and carts and atomizer; just don't know what the heck to get. Smoking Everywhere really got us. They set us up for automatic refills at 50 bucks each which we never agreed to. Had to get a new debit card from the bank. They were so deceptive. We just want an honest company with a good product. If you start looking at videos or forums it's so confusing to know which is a good product. Any info you can give would be appreciated. Thanks again. Johnger

Better be good for $99.

Here's my evaluation of e-cig products, and I'll be conservative and tactful so as not to step on any toes.

A KIT (for 3 piece units) is usually comprised of: 2 batteries worth about $12 each; an atomizer worth about $8; a charger worth about $6; a few prefilled cartridges worth about 50 cents each; a pretty box worth about 2 cents; a bi-lingual instruction book worth about nothing. Maybe an extra atomizer; two ways to charge (AC and USB); maybe a $4 case; and about $6 to ship. (510, 901, 401)

A 2 piece KIT consists of 2 batteries worth about the same $12 each; at least 5 prefilled cartomizers worth about $2 each, the same pretty box and instruction booklet. Add a $4 case, $6 charger and shipping and the two piece unit is about the same as the 3 piece unit (KR808D-1)

That would make just about ANY basic kit worth $50 or less and $6 to ship. a little more if you get extras.

Don't go with any model that you can't find at least 10 sellers for extra attys or carts. Don't go with the BEST E-CIG out there (there is NO best). If you can only buy spare parts from one seller, don't go there.
firhill's recommendation is good, you can't learn too much.

Why don't you e-mail, PM, call one of the sellers that post in this forum to confirm you have made a reasonable choice. I like talking to real people.

Give Mike a call (real phone number on his site) at LeCig.

The thing about the 2 piece KR808D-1 is it's a no brainer, plug and play all the way. It also comes with a 280mAh battery, much longer lasting than most, the standard 510's are 180mAh. Vapor not as good as a Joye 510, but good throat hit none the less. The 3 piece units are better for those who want a hobby too, they take some tinkering to work good.
