This is just a personal thing for me, but I discourage folks from using PVs (e-cigs or not) anywhere they feel at any time. I feel very disrespectful when I use mine in other peoples' homes, vehicles, or establishments without first asking the owner (or renter in terms of homes). I'm pretty sure they feel disrespected when vapers do that without asking as well. I know the health hazards aren't there for others, but our society has become comforted by not having fumes fly in front of their faces, and I too prefer to not have some fume around me that I cannot immediately identify. I don't want to breathe it in to find out it's hazardous, even though I know vapor isn't. So, I would ask that merchants market their products with a disclaimer that it's not socially acceptable to use everywhere without prior permission from the owner/operator/renter.

Hi Dhileas, I absolutely share your point of view. Even when electronic cigarettes just produce odorless vapor it is not right to use our PVs in public places before asking, as you say it just a matter of respect for others. That is what we say that elecronic cigarettes can be used "virtually" or "almost" everywhere - ASK BEFORE!

The good thing is that PVs and their benefits are getting popular so there are more places everyday allowing people to vape without a problem...

Even still, your site for example, I feel, doesn't encourage this social behavior. Not to single you out, as most other sites that sell e-cigs write similar things on their sites, but if it's not explicitly in the face of the consumer, they may assume it's fine to vape where they please, when they please. I'd just rather consumers find out from the merchant, than from the boys in blue. You know what they say these days, "common sense isn't so common".

True, common sense is not that common anymore, particularly when people have to put limits to their actions because of other people...

I am pretty sure now that the FDA is getting directly involved with e-cigarettes and will treat them as tobacco products we will see more control over the public vaping issue...

I recommend checking out what CASAA has to say on the issue. They are the legal gurus of the personal vaporizer community (as well as the other smoke-free alternative communities of course). If they say not to worry, I won't worry.
