| The advantages of a Big Battery Alu-minium BoxMod Pass Through:
It's BIG,
It's "almost" indestructible,
It will handle LR attys and cartos and not blink (no LEDs ),
2600mah will last a while, and then some,
charges off anything you could use to charge an eGo, or eGo clone,
oh and did I mention it's BIG?

Took the wife to Home Depot for her birthday and she got some mosaic tiles and grout.
Been kinda busy

Will my 18650 or 14650 batteries work in that, or should I be getting something else? Wow! I can't believe someone is making a mod for me!

| The red thing in the picture is an 18650 cell. It stays in there and you charge it from a connector on the bottom. You won't need anything. I like doing this
I should have time to finish it in the next couple of days.
PM your address.

| Teri, I am test vaping your mod. I'll post some photos tomorrow after I put some insulation and epoxy in some critical spots. I'll shoot for mailing it on Monday.
Lets get good with that meter in the mean time
here's a "teaser photo"

I could easily fine tune between 3.98 and 4.00 volts, I didn't verify the full range equaled the calculated range but 4 volts was close to the mid point on the trimmer with a 330 ohm fixed resistor.
I took a few photos with the wires, and resistors soldered to the converter. It went together sort of like a puzzle, but was able to get everything mounted to the 5 pins of the converter board. With all the fiddling with it I had to replace the small wires to the switch board with some less stiff.
The swamplady and I have already tried it in the car, and 4 volts (3.98 loaded) seems to fine. I'll post some more after we have vape tested it some more, but so far nothing seems to get hot.
NOTE: I wrapped a layer of heat resistant plastic (cut a piece from a microwave cooking bag) around the board to insulate everything from the eGo shell. | WOW, how's this one (VV passthrough) holding up? |

| So this is the soldering iron that you use, Rock?
How good is it performing?
Good tip life, etc?
Any kind of special flux or solder you're using? |

| Yea I just got in the same iron but with temperature control..I know they're cheap but a couple of people who use them fairly regularly seemed to have luck with them on a long term basis so took a shot...I'll report back on how it works out shortly

Any kind of special flux or solder you're using? | For a cheap iron it's just fine. The tips are easily replaced. They are about 3 inches long, go up inside the heating element for good heat conduction. If you get the iron, get a couple of spare tips at the same time.

| This is AWESOME!!!
Two years of electronics back in high school might just finally get used! (Although it's been probably 10 since I have picked up a soldering iron!) lol
Just had a cell charger die yesterday and dug it outta the trash. Already starting to 'save parts'.
Thanks for sharing this info Rocket!

I could put my Genisis and a Mod on the handlebars and run the tube up to my mouth mount the Mod so I can push the button with both hands on the bars. I love it, gotta make it. I can be seen ridin down the road with one hand on the bars and the other holdin a mod most of the time and I know that's not really safe.
Thanks VN!!! |
