Have an e-cig you don't like, got ripped off once and are afraid to spend even more? Have you been lurking around the forums? Cruising the malls? Surfing the web trying to find the best deal?

The 510 digital cigarette seems to be the new favorite (used to be the 901). I like the simpler 510 Manual (fewer components to fail).

If you can afford one of the custom Screwdriver, Prodigy, or Silver Bullet models then battery power is da chits man. These are nice if you have the bucks especially since they usually use a 'generic' atomizer. Battery power equals a small handful of regular batteries but for most of you folks out there, the 510 is for you. Can't make up your mind? I just did it for you, the 510. Everybody sells a 510. Well, since I made up your mind for you on which model to buy, I'll make it easy for you to get a great deal on a 510.

On August 1st, right here, I will post Challenge #2. Search the JOYE 510 thread (starting at post #20) for the first 510 Supplier Challenge. Sellers posted some really nice bargains. Hopefully we will have even more participation this time. As it gets closer I'll post reminders. Sellers please watch this thread, but, no need to post anything here yet, wait until August 1st. Those interested in buying watch here also, just might be worth your time.

In general I will be looking for a Joye 510 Manual or compatible starter kit, suitable to get a newbie going, with 2+2, enough juice to get started off, a few cartridges, and a charging method. Price, shipping, discount, etc, will need to be stated up front. You know what components and supplies are necessary to get someone started and vaping for a week or two. I'm thinking of a fixed price contest with the most stuff offered for like maybe 60 bucks, shipped (less than 2 cartons of analogs). Maybe a little better deal than you normally offer on your website for a limited quantity (a few units, 5 would be a good start) to registered VapeAtron members and good through Monday, August 3 at Noon? You get to hype your product head to head with your peers if you have what it takes (this is a challenge after all).

I'm not a supplier, have no vested interest in digital cigarette sales, just a vaporer like the rest of you. Hold off on the posts here, but watch for it, starts August 1st (unless of course VapeAtron rips this thread from the bowels of his forum, and bans me to the fringes of the internet till the end of time).

And, as always, even though I don't need another one, the "winner" will have at least one sale from ME.

The Rocket strikes again,
and remember,they are watching us.

I've been looking over "our" sellers' websites for potential entries in Challenge #2. More and more are offering great deals on 510 products making it difficult to hold off. Maybe some will participate with even a slightly "sweeter" deal for forum members. I'll contact some of you before August 1st (I know who you are, because I have been watching you) and ask for your input. Hope that's not a bother but I am looking for the absolute best possible deal. Hey, it's my money.

Laz,
The Challenge hasn't started yet, but since you posted here:
$26 for a 510 2+2 kit? hmmm. How much is shipping?
Any juice in the deal?
Rocket
Laz, rather than make more posts I'll just edit this one:
You could make a bulk order and save shipping, just enough to beat the next increase. I have made some orders from China and if the order is $100 or more (like a whole bunch of 901 bats and attys I didn't really need) or 4-6 bottles of juice it pays.
If you don't have local buyers though you are stuck. You would have to ship back out to the rest of the group. First class postage would work if everyone trusted you or you them. Priority with tracking blows for re-shipping. Then you would be a seller. I don't want the hassles, been there, done that.
Thanks for posting the link. Maybe someone will see it and make an order big enough to same them some money. Instead of ordering a little at a time, be brave and let loose with the $$$ and you could save. Sort of gives a baseline for the Challenge- "Beat that you suckas". Buy the way, the shipping for a 2+2 kit plus a PCC was 17 bucks. Still in the ball park.

Let's push the sellers we know to give us a 'sweet' deal for the contest. As soon as the Challenge is over start a thread for a bulk deal, I'll give you an order if the deal is right.
Nov 50? really?
Rocket

I have been looking around for a deal myself on the 510, so when I saw this thread I thought I would post the lead.

Shipping is like $14-25 continental US. No juice deal advertised.

You know these suppliers want quantity orders. Maybe if we can order enough of them they will offer a better deal with some goodies, like some juice.

Instead of a contest you should round up buyers to put together a drop ship at wholesale prices and then distribute them. Could be a winner.

Uh ... I gotta ask. Why?

You don't show up as a new post when you edit an old one, so many people would miss your message if they don't check all the time.

Other than that, I often ponder your intentions when you bring up such odd, off-the-wall topics.

Thank you,
I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Was hoping not to generate a whole bunch of posts here. Those interested usually see the previous post. You did. If it doesn't continue the intended thought why move pertinent things further back in the thread. I guess it is a questionable technique. If objectionable I'll stop. bring up odd- off the wall topics? not sure what you mean.

I though the Challenge would be a good idea. I can shop on my own. Most people can also. Those that aren't sure about it can get all the info they need in this forum. I guess it has the potential for hurting peoples feelings more than benefiting the cooperative air that this forum has. Lets just call it off.

Thanks,
The Rocket

Just bought a 510 2X2 and 120ml (4X30) of juice from Heaven-gifts.com for $72 shipped.

You get points when you buy and that gets you a discount on products and shipping over $50 order. I've got 2000 points already (8% discount)

Not a bad deal, their juice is very good too IMO

Laz,
I've ordered from ruyandirect.com (heavens gifts) before. good service, you've got alot more points than I have, I get -5%. Juice is probably the same as almost any from China, does good job. components and kits are a deal also, and ordering from them adds a little excitement tracking your order as it goes into U.S. Customs. Really makes on-line ordering fun. Never had a problem, just a little delay. They sure know how to fool Customs don't they?

I had originally started this Challenge as a repeat of the first one I did to get U.S. suppliers to compete for the best deal. Your idea of a bulk order from China is probably a better idea. Looks like you have a good supply channel. Go ahead with that, you can have this thread if you like. Not too many locals are going to be able to compete with those prices. Of course returning bad parts for replacement may be an issue, never tried, used mine for parts for my MOD.

The Rocket has terminated Challenge 2. Was bad idea.

I'm not sure why anyone would want to be or become a local supplier with threads like this floating around. The contest would basically boil down to who can go bankrupt selling stuff at a loss first. I always thought that if you were a wholesaler, you wouldn't compete with the same people you just sold your goods to. These companies seem to be selling this stuff to anyone, with any type of searching skills, for the same price.
I suppose that's good for the average "you and me", but they are not leaving any room for local businesses to profit.

You gotta remember that shipping from china is expensive and time consuming. To make the best of the deal, you need to order multiple items ... maybe pool your money with some friends. Just like that, you go from wanting to buy a new toy to trying to manage a small-scale co-op.

Sure you can find it cheaper ... but at what cost?

----and what about returning defective parts, HAPPENS you know. and, shipping delays. My cheap deals sat in customs for longer than the total delivery time here in the states.

Our U.S. vendors are doing this to make money, sure, but being in the same country, makes it a heck of a lot easier to deal with. I personally DO NOT want to order a bunch of stuff and start my own little business, co-op, nothin, you will always make someone unhappy.
Search the net, find the absolute cheapest deal, take your chances with U.S. Customs,
OR
deal with someone that can live up to the warranty they advertise.
Remember all the e-cigars I went through. Is my unnamed foreign supplier going to replace those without me paying through the nose to return them? Not yet. EVERY failure ordered from U.S. vendors was honored. Shipping was really quick too. Thanks guys.

Of course the "Fast Buck" folks out there with the "17th generation, absolutely best e-cig 901 starter kit in the whole wide world" for only $149.99 don't help. Own up to it, how many of you have a $100 (or more) 901 that doesn't work any more? SEARCH THIS FORUM, THEY ADVERTISE IN HERE FOLKS. (I am not referring to the super-cool custom jobs)

The kit I was trying to solicit is something being offered by many vendors at prices within a couple a bucks of each other. A Long time back I commented "the going rate for a starter kit is in the $40 - $60 range" that still applies. Very little difference in price for the "Honest" vendors out there.

I agree with godling, $$$ are not everything. It's a lot of it, but not everything. Honor and integrity is tops in my book. To flood forum threads with supplier hype that are off topic (go read the thread title) doesn't instill confidence in my book.
Now I'm stuck with this "thorn" with my name on it, I suggest to you: don't ever do that. This was a challenge, set to start Aug 1st but this is not my forum, maybe I assumed too much here.
MY PURPOSE WAS TO GATHER A FEW GOOD DEALS IN ONE PLACE SO THAT A NEWBIE COULD GET STARTED VAPING.
Go back and read the posts from the first Challenge. Read what I posted at the beginning of this thread. That's why I tried to tailor a deal that had just enough stuff to get started and vape for a couple of weeks. Instead of me searching, they came to me, I bought, you all watched, cool concept, or so I thought.

"The Rocket", a little arrogant, a little know-it-all, and now it turns out a little naive. He'll watch, answer if asked, and probably still stick his 2 cents in uninvited. If I buy something and I like it I'll probably commend the seller. They deserve that. But you guys go find you own "best deals" I'll find mine.

Hey Rocketman, I was wondering if you know who has the best price on the Dura-C batteries. I for one read all your post and find you are trying to help everyone whether they know it or not. You have done a lot of good research on many of the product lines and I would value your answer to my question.

Many thanks,

Mick

P.S. With a name like Rocketman I was wondering if you are into high power rocketry and associated with Tripoli or NAR? I am so I thought I'd ask if you are too or just like the name Rocketman

OK folks, the rocket has cooled off. There may be a chance to salvage challenge 2 after all. If I came across as a little critical, sorry, happens at my age The VapeAtron forum obviously benefits soon to be ex-smokers, the undecided, their close family and friends, small vendors, big vendors, those guys on the other side of the globe that basically provide most of the goods to us in the first place, and helps promote "OUR" position on the right to choose our own path.
I would like to open this thread for comment for a few days.

PLEASE no sales pitches for a while.

Let me know what you think.

Remember it's just "one thread" of this vast forum.

The Rocket,
one of you, really.

Didn't scare everybody off did I? (hey don't go around that rocket dude, he's crazy)
Lets fine tune this Challenge thing. 15 days to go. Sellers, no adds or hype yet, just tell me what you think would be a good approach. Maybe baseline deal, price range of 50 to 60?, with options (sort of sounds like friend with benefits doesn't it)? Add more juice, extra parts, shipping upgrade to priority, for a little more? Check in, first 100 sellers get a spot Buyers, here's your chance to voice an opinion. What would you like to see here? Chat it up, think it over. I should have enough money to buy another kit by August 1st.

Rocketman: The challenge as you described it in your initial message made sense and sounded like it would benefit a lot of us on the forum: Suppliers would draw attention to their website and maybe get some new customers, regular vapers would save a few $ on a good purchase, analog-smokers who haven't ordered yet would be able to try the unknown less expensively, newbies could replace a model they started out with that they weren't very happy about with one that works great (my opinion), and those who like to get their Christmas shopping done early could get a few gifts for analog-smoking friends at a reduced price.... who could argue with any of that?

Although you described what information challengers could submit pretty clearly to begin with, maybe giving a specific format for challengers to use would eliminate messages speculating about other options for cost-savings. I'm so new at this (33 days vaping) that my effort will probably fall way short but here's what I mean:

SUPPLIERS, PLEASE SUBMIT CHALLENGE INFO AS FOLLOWS:
Name and Ordering Web Address:
"Kit" Price:
Purchaser's Shipping Cost:
Estimated Delivery Time:
ITEMS INCLUDED IN KIT FOR ABOVE PRICE;
eCig Model:
Color(s):
Number of Batteries:
Number of Atomizers:
Number of Filled Cartridges (Flavor & Strength):
Number of Blank Cartridges:
Chargers:
PCC:
Juice: (Size, Strength & Flavoring):
Extras:

This would let purchasers compare value to cost, choose the best one for them based on what they want in a kit, and give suppliers some flexibility in pricing the kit so it's not just the lowest price but the most value for individual needs. I hope this makes sense. My head hurts. And for the first time in 33 day, BOTH my 501 batteries are dead. How did I let that happen? FYI, I'm on my 33rd day using original batteries, atomizers, and cartridges from my Yeti starter kit from The Smoke Safe. From what I read, that may be a record!

Very good ideas Kaye. I like the standard form for supplier submissions ... will make it much easier to compare the deals.

Another idea would be to decide what should be included in a 510 kit, and see what the suppliers can come up with. For instance ... you only have two batteries? I'd die without 3, and prefer to have 4 charged and ready! (in case we take off for an over-nighter at the beach or something). How about a kit that comes with 2 atty's and 4 batts? Maybe have it come with at least 2 flavors of ejuice to try as well.

If we ask for the "ideal" 510 kit, then the suppliers would only have to worry about posting their shipped price ... and maybe their return policies ... and what color box they use for shipping.

Don't y'all forget about August 1st. I like the standard kit approach, wonder if options, added on with no or minimal shipping increase would be good to allow? Shipping costs kill us. Extra batteries with maybe a 50 cent extra shipping charge or something?
I've misplaced one of my 510s, had it today at work. Calm down rocket, 9 will do for now, maybe it's on the desk.

OK folks, I know the FDA distracted us for a while but next Saturday (early) will be the kickoff of the 2nd 510 Supplier Challenge. So far the challenge format suggested by Kaye (post #18 in this thread) seems to be a good idea. We would like to somewhat equalize the approach used by each challenge applicant. Don't let this one slip by. Save your pennies up.
