Doing good. You need to come around more, missed ya.

I'll bring my swords and shotguns for back-up.

So true... that is how I plan on going to the grave.

Dang. I've been stabbed by an unruly mob of pineapple plants, but never punched by one.

Now I trim all the leaves back to about 6 inches of dull stubs.

I'm fine. The last I heard from you, you were attempting to get your mom to switch to a PV and you were having problems with it. That's what I meant.

VV - Love the avatar.. Seen that before.. and love it. It reminded me of almost cutting myself to ribbons, sliding a lil Honda 95 dirt bike under a barbed wire fence, when I was a kid. (several times and purely but accident)

..Ahh the good times, those little brushes with Death.. DA

What's a DH?
Choose your word or pick another, depending on your mood:
Darling, dear, dumb, daft, delightful, daring, disgusting, devilish, etc. HUSBAND. Mine is almost always dearest, but quite often devilish.

Hello all.
This is my first post on the forum and, in my eyes, the best place to have done it.
I have been admiring your mod for a little while now, and have been planning on making something similar myself, but mine will consist of some different parts that I managed to stumble on at lowes and ace.
as of now, I have a nice tube with some plastic (meh) end-caps.
They just fit the tube to nicely to pass up.

My questions to you, rocket, are:
Is the battery negative simply against the case? I cant tell by looking at the pictures.
If so, aren't the p- and the b- of the of the pcb making contact with (basically) the same region?
Or is the p- completing the circuit and the negative of the battery is blocked from the case by insulation?
it looks like the bottom of the battery might be covered with epoxy, but it could just be some that got on it by accident.
Then again, it looks like the tab may be hitting the case.

Thanks in advance.

My questions to you, rocket, are:
Is the battery negative simply against the case? I cant tell by looking at the pictures. The battery negative is insulated from the case. The negative tab is covered by some high temperature Kapton tape and the case is coated with epoxy.
If so, aren't the p- and the b- of the of the pcb making contact with (basically) the same region? The protection board is glued to the case with epoxy. Contact between the back side of the board (-P) and the case would be OK (ground loop? ) The Battery tab and -B contact are insulated with epoxy.
Or is the p- completing the circuit and the negative of the battery is blocked from the case by insulation? The -P is wired to the shell of the connector by the green insulated wire epoxied to the case. Contact there would be OK.
it looks like the bottom of the battery might be covered with epoxy, but it could just be some that got on it by accident.
Then again, it looks like the tab may be hitting the case.

Thanks in advance.
There was very little extra room in that box. The epoxy insulation was used to hold the cell in place as well. If You are planning a tube version of this add additional insulation and don't rely on just the plastic battery wrapper. Thanks for looking over the construction so closely. Paying that much attention to detail is necessary to make a safe and reliable mod.

Let me know if you have any other comments or need assistance.

Rocky

Hope this helps.

One thing that did not show is the bottom VENTS in the bottom of the finished box. ALL of my metal mods have bottom vents.
Some of my tube mods have a securely attached top cap but a weakly attached bottom cap.

Not pointing that out in the original post was a very bad oversight on my part. FIXED
