| Vape, hope this is OK to post this here.
(This isn't really a review. More like a FYI.)
I just wanted to let everyone know where I got my penstyle ecig. I'm not sure if it is an 801 or a 4072. My unoffical measurement is 156mm. There are no markings on the atomizer like my DSE-901 has (SLB; which signifies that is made by Sailebao. So, it is probably a 4072. The battery, however, is marked with SH08098. Which I suppose could also be read as 86080HS?!
Anyway, I bought it off eBay from seller eminiroyal or http://www.theindoorcigarette.com. They call it the "Royal Pen". I just purchased one atomizer, one battery and the wall charger. Total was under $30. And since I drip, I didn't need any carts. The atomizer does come with an empty cart (no foam though).
For the price, it is a decent pen. The atomizer had a funky taste at first, but it went away after about a days uses. (A plastic/metal taste). It will still taste kinda funky when the juice gets low, but 2 to 3 drops lasts me almost twice as long as my 901. It as a nice easy draw and I have actually found that the lighter you draw the better the vapor (and throat hit). Battery lasts pretty much my entire work day (8a-5p; about 8 analogs), but I normally like to use it at night when I am on my computer.
Another advantage is has over my 901 is that the atomizer doesn't get as hot as quickly. I can take 10 or more quick consecutive drags and still get great flavor and vapor. Whilst with my 901, after about 5 consecutive tokes the atomizer gets too hot and I have to let it cool down.
For someone wanting to try a penstyle, I would recommend this one; with the caveat about the atomizer tasting funky. One other note is that it is not always predictable. Sometimes you take a drag and get little or no vapor. This could be my fault by not priming it or taking too hard of a drag. I do have to say it has gotten better with time.
I would like to find another 'el cheap-o pen to compare to this, so if anyone else has found a good place, drop a post and let us know.
Thanks and happy toking. |

OH, also... my atomizer is a 4 hole. It doesn't say above how many holes an RN4072 has and http://www.chinafirstunion.com appears to be down. |

| I just received my RN-4072 today from The Smoke Safe. (Very fast shipping, I might add. Ordered it on Wednesday night, received it on Saturday). After charging my battery for 8 hours, I was real excited to give it a go based on prior reviews.
Massive amount of vapor, for sure, but man, what a funky taste/smell out of this thing! Tastes like burning plastic, yuck I mean, my first e-cig, a DSE-901, tasted a little funny at first, but this thing tastes really bad! I can barely stand it. xMarlboroMan, you said the nasty taste/smell went away after a day's use, but I don't know if I can use it that long to find out!
Somebody give me some reassurance I'm not breathing in toxic waste here!
Note: I'm not using the supplied carts. I used a blank cart filled with TV 36 mg juice, with a couple drops on the atomizer.

| That taste will burn off. I love mine but I need to send out an email because I've already had one battery fail, and one atomizer fail as well. This was about 4 days. |

| I think I solved it.
Today, I removed the cart material, put a couple drops on the atomizer, and the toxic stink is gone. So my deduction is that the cart fiber was burning somehow, even though it wasn't hanging out of the end of the mouthpiece. I have since put the fiber back into the mouthpiece, topped it off, and pushed it slightly deeper into the mouthpiece. Everything is now working fine.
I think I'm really going to like this model. Lots of vapor and long battery life!

I have since replaced the cart fiber and just pushed it a little further into the mouthpiece. Still working great.

| Got mine from digitalsmokeshop.com. 59.99 + 9.50 shipping but came with two complete cigs; 2 batteries, two atomizers, 5 sample carts and charger.
Went ahead and bought the car charger and some juice. I fill my own, and one cart on one battery charge lasted me my entire 6 hour trip in a car from Lubbock to Dallas.
When I'm at work, not smoking all the time like in a car, it lasts about 10 hours. Start smoking when I leave the house at 7 still smokes at 5 before I change carts/batteries.
Love this thing! My son has the DSE901 and it's nice, but this one holds more juice and bigger battery; he likes to look cool, I'm older and don't care; just wanna smoke!
Gone from 36 mg to 24mg. Hope to get to NO by decreasing over time. Will probably still smoke NO cause I like the feel of it; kinda like a pipe and I get pleasure from it. |

| Right now I'm using Red Dragon and I don't think the cartridges last very long. I am looking into getting a different kind. I have read about 4 holes in the atomizer and 2 holes, I'm sorry but what is the difference? Also do the pen styles work better? Thanks for the help. |

| I tried to order an RN-4072 only to find out from this particular dealer that they only come in automatic, is this true? I currently have a manual 801 but was wanting to try another model of pen style ecig. The one big thing I am worried about with an automatic is getting juice (and yes it does happen) between the atomizer and the battery resulting in a short out of the battery. Doesn't help that I also tend to overfill just a tad.
Thanks,
Anne

| Yeah, I do the same thing with my manuals when I have to change the battery. Don't know if it will hurt it to stay there......but logic says it can't be good to do it.

Anne | Yea, it will mess up the microswitch sensor under the hole after a while.

Thanks,
Anne | yes, the 4072 battery only comes in automatic. I have not had a problem with the batterly shorting out. been using them for about 2 months.. one battery is getting a short life though. probably because i have been using 1.5ohm LR atty's part of the time.
the atty's lasted me about a month and a week, then poof! i think that is pretty good though. i'm sure i abused them while i was learning.
i like them,, good vapor, good draw. i have since made my own 14500 battery mods and it's great to not have to change out the battery every 3 or 4 hours.
i have tried the 501 ceramic cartomizers. not sure i like them. way too easy of a draw, and they get hot fast.
the 801 caromizers i like the best... easy to fill, good draw, vapor and flavor. and they last quite a awhile.
i could go on and on,, but even though the 4072 is great, they are hard to find parts for. |
