Is there a way to impact media hype in a positive way?
I find it hard to believe that major networks ignore the technical errors in the FDA's position on e-cigarettes, and yes I know about dollars and the news. But when is the last time the media took the position of our government.
Our president calls some cop stupid and that gets more coverage than e-cigs. They want to implement a Federal Health Plan and the media reports any view out there against it.
Why doesn't some top notch spokesman (like Rush, or Andy Rooney, or Larry King ) editorialize on this or air a proper debate over the issue of "Safe or just Safer". Yes there have been a couple of rogues taking our position but no one really recognized as a "truthslayer". Maybe I'll e-mail Rush to see what he thinks.
NPR tells the truth usually, why haven't they picked up on this.
We can B&M all day about the FDA, but the people you deal with everyday listen to media hype. The anti-smokers in the trailer park, the experts down at the service station that know anti-freeze is poisonous. Those that think the ink in a cigarette ad is really 4th hand smoke and can give you cancer. Educated PhD's that don't understand undergrad organic chemistry. CNN, ABC, NBC whasup? Interview some of these "experts" in front of 60 million viewers.
