Ok, I'm an idiot and can't find where I put this stuff, but a new thread for it might not be bad either.

Where's good reliable places to get wire and wicking??

Once I make up my mind on wire I will buy that in bulk, but like most for now I want smaller amounts of different materials so I can experiment and find what I like best before I order a truck load of it.

Going to start with reworking some of the Protank II coils.

More options.

Well, visually, the PT heads look like the T3-S heads. I have ribbon wire and have not yet tried it. Looks like a tight fit !

Like the braided cotton + 32 kanth, sofar for the T3-S. Will be getting a PT2 this week. Might rebuild the 2+ohm head right away cause I really do not use ohms that high.

I just bought 100ft of 32g Kanthal for $4.75 w/free shipping. Should I be getting it from Temco, or does it matter?

At the rate I'm going, I might need that much! The problem lies with me, not the wire.

Nope, +3.00 readers and a great LED lantern for extra lighting. Pluss, like makin pancakes the first two loops are gonna be crap, sometiles also the last two as well. So I go arround wick roughly 8 times 90% of the time in the middel is 5 good wraps. Unwind the buggers on the end. Bingo!

If it looks like its gonna be too wide gently ease the coils togeather. This is where having a support wire through the wick is awesome! Nuffin worse than trying to wrap a limp wick

Same here, I might go through a 100 foot roll pretty fast and not get many coils done.

Gotta admit it, I'm afraid to order a whole lot for that very reason. I'm sure I can master it eventually, and I'm looking forward to experimenting a bit. I liked the 1.8 that came with my Protank's and using the 1.8 in my second tank. Haven't been able to find anything but the 2.5's in the B&M's around here so being able to do a lower ohm coil myself and maybe save a few bucks will be nice. I will be picking up 5 more tomorrow as I am down to 1 spare coil, but that will give me 14 to rework so I just need the supplies so I can start having fun.

Bad news is I need to spend some serious bucks on my truck this month, broke a flex plate and it took out the starter, and I'm praying the torque converter survived. So I'm going to have to be happy with what I have for another month short of getting some stuff for rewinding coils. And at least my MVP should be here by the weekend, it currently shows to have been through SF.

But how the hell do you attach it? I thought it was fixed! As in welded.

Nope all press fit.

1 for leverage leav it in the base to pop off airtube.
2 remove from base, the center pin is easily wiggled out of insulator.
3 gently remove insulator (rubber between pin and body).

Step 3 might have removed wick, if not, remove with tweesers.

When reinstalling new coil&wick make sure one wire is between insulator and body, other wire goes in hole of insulator. Insert pin with wire between insulator & pin NOT through air hole in pin.

Heres Grimmgreen's vid...

This process also works for the T3-S heads.

Er...my time (when I'm actually working) is billed at ~$24. Those things cost ~$1.99.

Where's Kali when you need her?

Well to me its just a fiddel thing really.

Though I'm pretty sure the T3-S tanks from iVape are real, I'm suspecting the replacement heads are not and I stupidly tossed the box without tanking pix durrr.

That first head was awesome. But the last few were dissapointing. If protank heads do fit and work better they would be worth the extra $2.50/box over T3-S heads.

I've heard conflicting arguments about them. Some say they fit, some say they don't. I have a T3S 'adapter' and some ProTank coils, I guess I outta try it, eh?

Too bad...I just "reupped" one last night...

I picked up some boxes of ProTank heads (genuine Kanger) for $5.00 for a 5 pack over the weekend when they were on sale. No need for me to try to rebuild something that costs a $1.00 each. Not enough time and DEFINITELY, NOT ENOUGH PATIENCE!

Yea, I wanna know too!! The genuine Kangers have been setting me back $4.00 a pop.

For me rewinding these coils is as much about playing around as anything else. I'm pretty happy with the Protank's, but if I can make it just a tad better by winding my own lower ohm coils...... Ya know, I gotta at least try. LMAO

Correction, they have been setting me back $2.00 a pop with tax. That's not horrible but I want to save every dime I can, and I for sure have plenty of free time.

Yup kind of nice to be able to revitalise a buggy head. Not like tank cartos that if it dont work your out a full 2 bucks.

Heck just this morning I had to replace the "floaters" in mine today. Popped the airtube off. Good gravy, 2ish barely there "floaters" and with thinner juice I need them both. So tweezed what there was of them out, popped in a chunk of 3mm scilica. Its working better now.

My next recoiling idea is think of an = sighn. Now erace the middle third of top line. Kind of a "gapped floater" that should retard juice flow, yet not get in the way of coil. Just an idear, but think plugs might be better than floaters.
