Nice. Wish I could dedicate more space to "my hobbies".

| 1000 sq ft would be good. All mine, not having to share
The step kids still have "reserved" space. One in the Army, one in college. No where near 35 yet so they'll be back.
If the wife hadn't gotten a kindle, we would be out of room to sleep already

| Excellent starter lab.
I can't wait to see what your DIY addiction looks like in 6 months.
<insert evil laugh here>
Safety considerations. Check.
Nice big labels. Check.
Graduated cylinders. Check.
Syringes. Check.
Beakers. Check.
Extra sciency points for boiling flask. Check.
Organizer trays. Check.
Nice selection of Capella, Loranns, Totally Wicked, and something else I can't quite place. Check.
Big bottle of Everclear for... uh... throat kick... yeah, throat kick is all we use it for after you go to bed, Mrs Wiz. Ya know, with evaporation rates and all sometimes it takes 80ml of pga to make 30ml of juice. Check.
One thing that seems to be missing is a mixing tray.
I'd definitely recommend a large shallow mixing tray to work in.
Makes for easy cleanup after an accidental spill, and if you're going to be working with any high strength nicjuice I'd say it's a necessity.
Any kind of cheap sterilite/tupperware/baking tray will do the job, but I've found one of the best things to use for mixing is a 3-compartment tray.
You can find something like this one at Target for about $5.
I like that style because it keeps everything organized and a good workflow for mixing.
Place your ingredients in compartment #1, and your mixing/measuring containers in compartment #2.
As you measure and add each ingredient to the mixing container, cap it and place it in compartment #3.
This keeps a physical record of where you are in your mix plan, and you'll never have to rack your brain about what you did or didn't do yet in case you get distracted by a wife emergency... or a real emergency while mixing.
On a sidenote, get some smaller syringes for flavorings. I like the half ml and 1ml for exact measurements on a budget... although from your start, I predict you'll be investing in a pipette pump or two before long.
1000sq ft basement?!?
Damn, I'm jealous. What I wouldn't give to be able to have a basement in Florida.
That may be the only thing I miss about living up north. |

The other stuff you can't place is from TPA, good idea on the compartmentalised mixing container.
As I mentioned above the wifey works in the hospital so i can procure just about any kind of syringes and whatnot you could find there
Already been looking at pipette pumps on fleabay

Can't let that one slide.
Pictures are now a requirement for such statements per the new Vapeatron rules.

Rules are rules. | Rules are made to be broken.
Asking a big WV guy for pics of "the rack"
could get you a few broken rules

| Hmmm... now that you mention it, the pixels in his avatar do look rather large...
If you hadn't been devious enough to quote me I might've had a chance for an emergency edit.
Thank God he hasn't shown any interest in chewing his way out of the straight-jacket and leather straps yet. |

If the wife hadn't gotten a kindle, we would be out of room to sleep already | We very nearly did. When I got my kindle, I boxed up and took more than 100 books to the library here to donate. I've got about 6 big boxes of books still in storage. Mostly reference books, hardly used. And, even though I wanted to donate them ( nearly unused condition) to the library in Sarasota, they " weren't taking donations". Some of these were reference books they didn't even have, particularly on women's history. They didn't even want the 3 volume Oxford English dictionary I had. Took that with me in the MH. The library here in Oregon didn't have one. They do now! They were happy to take any books I wanted to give them. Sarasota and their uppity attitude! HMMPH glad I don't live there anymore.

| Love it. I'm saving this pic for the next time the slightly OCD Mrs Wiz complains about MY desk. (We keep a box of shoe covers "booties" at the front door if that's any indication.) |
