| I've been noticing a lot of people moving straight into dismay. Folks, we are where we are now in terms of the Vaping Community because we fought, collectively, to dispute the claims from the FDA of personal vaporizers being classified as "drug delivery devices". This new classification is softer, and allows for better wiggle room in legislation. It doesn't mean we are stopping here and allowing the FDA to make the entire device officially and permanently classed as a "tobacco product". We aren't done fighting, but we do have a little breathing room right now. I'd say enjoy the breathing room we have while we have it. Soon, we're going to build up a great big "hold the fucking phone" storm and we're going to tell the government, as THE PEOPLE, that their classification is STILL incorrect and why. So, don't be so downtrodden. Are work isn't over yet.

| Anything I can do that is more productive than bitching about it on forums, let me know. I've already written my congressmen and senators about it. Unfortunately, we are a deep red state here, which means our "representatives" are deeply in the pockets of big business and big pharma, and I don't think that they have any interest in representing their constituents views.

Not speaking of the little skirmishes resulting in appeasing the masses for a short while, rather speaking of long term victory in ANYthing remotely resembling leaving us alone in peace.
The journey may well have entailed winning a few short skirmishes, but as for the long haul and what they wish to accomplish, I cannot think of one instance whereby the populace can claim anything more than one step forward and two steps back......right up until game over and give us your money.
Once this was declared a tobacco product....all the usual suspects will be at the trough and the steamroller will arrive for the inevitable lose, lose for us. Put bluntly? It is this vapor persons opinion it mattered little how they ruled on the issue. History has proven the sheeple will be sheared in the long run, and eventually.
About those examples to the contrary?

| In the US particularly, we seem to just shrug as they trample on our rights, and saddle us with more and more regulations, and transition from being a government of the people, by the people, for the people to being a government of rich lawyers, by the wealthy corporations, for the multimillionaire (White, Christian) elite. Maybe we need to look to the middle east, to Egypt, Libya, Algeria, Bahrain, for how people should react to their government ignoring them and becoming more and more corrupt.

I think you have Big Pharma backwards. Obama's boondoggle was the biggest boost to drug co stocks since penicillin...

As for the OP....D makes a good point for striving to get people's attention and standing up as much as we can. The vaping community should be commended for doing so, and perhaps we should take his advice and enjoy the window that opened for the time being. I plan on it.
All I'm trying to say is the little victories are soon wiped out by those who want the money and set "the rules".

| I think they ought to limit the amount of money someone can spend on ANY election. Kind of like Indy Car racing: you have ONE choice of engine: Honda. Make the best of it, but you're also somewhat limited to what you can do with it. Levels the playing field. Should do the same with politicians. In IRL, the merit of the driver comes through; let the merit of the Pols come through.

Notice the eloquent speech and vocabulary. Ever really listened to these modern politicians talk? Been more impressed with some old bar conversations....back in the day.
Best over morning cup of coffee..... Davy Crockett Advises the Candidates:

kinda like a total personnel height limit on a basketball court at any one time

The President, of course, gets to use the Bully Pulpit to do his campaigning, and WE foot the bill for it!
Of course, it's been an advantage for so long now it's hard to take it away.
