I think you could probably take random posts from every thread, combine them into one, and nobody would be able to tell it apart from any other thread on the board.

Thank god for search.
Can you imagine trying to find information here on memory alone???

"Hmmm, I think that great post on multimeters was in the vacation thread... or was it the DIY ejuice thread... maybe the nicotine safety thread? No wait, I'm pretty sure it was in the morse code porn thread."

Is there a place to get true max specs for a board? I have a Gateway e6500D, the MB has 2 dual channel mem slots (4 slots total), Gateway says it will support 4GB max, and only supports up to DDR2 240 pin PC-4200 (533MHz), but I already have 2 2gb sets of PC-5300 (667MHz) memory in there, so I know at least part of their specs are inaccurate, I'd like to go to 8GB, but before I spend the money I'd like to know it will work . . .

I think they only publish what is considered "stable". I did a similar thing to a Dell; it was supposed to max out at 2 1G sticks of DDR2 533, but it is running 2 2G sticks of DDR2 6400 , max RAM, max speed.
