Hey gang I got my 510, unfortuanely it is not a OEM 510 but a knock off so the cartridges are diffrent. However, I did notice the screw for the att is the same as my B series I carry so carts work with it. I can see why y'all like to drip with these, better vapor production. I think I'm going to hunt down a used 510 as my ecig collection is growing astronomically in $ lol

If anyone wants to do a test for me, the first user to PM I'll give you a 808B atty and some carts to compare to the 510 atty cart setup. Shipping is on me, all I ask is for an honest review. Perhaps we can find a new solution/options for compatibility.

OK..I went..I looked..I saw...

Is the 808B the same as the 808D1..but it utilises the shortest of the (3) 808D-1 battery sizes?

so it uses the regular 808d-1 cartomizers?

EDIT...Nope, guess not..you said the 808b uses atty AND carts above

OK..I got it now..the 808B is the same as the 808A, except for (fill in this space, thanks)

Exactly Firhill. The A and B are super minis, the A is usually 98mm or longer and the B is 84mm. They are both 3 piece where as the Ds are 2 piece disposable atomizers.

Do NOT throw that atty away!!!
I thought I had killed mine but try to revive it by dripping about 3 drops on it then blowing through the screw side into a napkin screw it on your battery and try to vape it without the cartridge to make sure it is not dead mine just needed some priming to start back up again

LeCig, what does "OEM" stand for and, if the 510 knock-off is inferior to the regular 510, and if you thought you were getting a regular one when you ordered it, tell us where you got it (so we won't make the same mistake). And how are the carts different? I'm just curious.... Glad you like the vapor production when dripping.

OEM=Original Equipment Manufacturer, as in the actual company producing the product, or an authorized supplier. Example: If you have a Toyota, and you go to Toyota for parts, you're getting OEM parts, whether they are made by Toyota or by a company contracted by Toyota to supply parts (Like NipponDenso that makes electricals for Toyota)

As opposed to "Aftermarket", that makes copies. If you take your Toyota to AutoZone for parts, 99.9% of the time you're either getting 'remanufactured' parts or 'identical' copies.

Exactly Hachiroku Couldn't have explained it better myself.

Kaye - I think knock off is the wrong terminology. I got this from a new manufacture out of china sampling their product. They call it the 520, I think most of its reference being size (8.5) and screw/thread being the same as the 510. I didn't realize at first the 510 was a super mini ... I thought it was 9.2mm in diameter. The atty on a 510 has a shield (the only way I can think to describe it) and then your cart with the wick plugs into it. The 808B and 510 I guess have the same screw, the factory said this unit's battery will take the 510's atty no problem and this unit is interchangeable with Kanger's 808B.

I was expecting it to be constructed like the 510, so in retrospect knock off is an incorrect statement, I'd say more like a clone of sorts. The battery has 180mA/H rating and I am most pleased with it's performance. I would love to trade atty/cart with a 510 user for this style so I can lie this to rest the differnce between the two in my brain.

I have a 300mA/H battery coming in next shipment, I would imagine that would be awesome with a super mini since I seem to chain vape these batteries rather quick.

BTW, I don't know if any of you have tried using a monoject syringe and punching it into the wick to fill them (drawing back the needle so you soak the poly fill) but it seems to stop that nasty e-liquid shot you get when you drip.

Boy I hope I sound coherent, I'm 15 hours into straight programing today LOL

The people that do like them swear by them, and good for them but I won't deal with them. They aren't the only place to get the Mega battery either, you can get it at The Electronic Cigarette Company (USA) Ltd. I have not ordered from them but they are based in Michigan so is RMV now as well in case you didn't know that. I think RMV has about the cheapest prices around really especially with the free shipping on $14 orders and up which is easy to hit really, it's harder to not spend $14 there than it is to hit the $14 mark for the free shipping. I too have found that Fluval is a great wicking filler material I used it and it is nice to just cut to size and slide in. As for flavor the 510 was never a big one for flavor until I put it on HV mod then it really kicks it in. I know you want to stay away from mod talk but it's using it with your beloved 510 so that's not too bad then.

I find that the batteries are one of the big issues I have with the model. If it wasn't for that and the constant topping or filling of carts it would score higher with me but it is what it is. If given a choice between starting back up on the tobacco cigarettes or grabbing the 510 out of the drawer I most assuredly would grab the 510. I also refuse to call them analog's since that makes no sense at all. We don't call these "digital cigarettes" which would be the proper opposite of 'analog cigarettes". We call them E-Cigs or PV's. Analog denotes constant moving scale while digital is either 1 or 0, on or off. Measuring or representing data by means of one or more physical properties that can express any value along a continuous scale. For example, the position of the hands of a clock is an analog representation of time.

I just read that last bit and I guess I am sounding like a bit of a nitpicker, I guess I just don't care for the term since it really is not the right use of it, oh well I am a big boy I will get over it.

The owner of TW holds a majority interest in The electronic Cigarette company. That is why you find the bats there.

Thanks for the info, mschwenk; I saw they also carried some TW liquid, referred to the 510 as the Titan, and had the same prices so I assumed there was a connection. I've used TW several times and particularly appreciate their innovation in coming up with the 510 mega-batt and the 5-battery charger. Their website is nice, their forum is interesting, and that 30% off birthday sale was terrific! Looking forward to another one in December.

Just FYI, I just got an ad from TW that they're having a 20% off sale till midnight, Saturday (11/14). Also, they now have a Titan Mega Starter Kit (510 with mega-batteries) which is my idea of a really good starter kit. TW's a little more expensive than other vendors so you have to catch a sale there to get a decent price! But they do have a great inventory and a few things unique to them.

What have you found so far? Does your 808 fit loose enough to draw properly? I get the dreaded Fish Face...

I use a passthru that has a battery in the line with my laptop and it seems to me to be equal to my batts. Maybe somebody with more passthru experience will jump in here and tell us both something we don't know. And as for the "am i doing something wrong?" question, I haven't actually met you, but judging from your posts, I'm guessing that, like me, you're always doing a little something wrong just because it's more fun that way....
oh, excuse me, you meant vaping issues, didn't you? I sometimes have trouble staying focused....

Been away for a while (no - not in jail). Have about all I need to keep me and the swamp lady in vaping supplies for a long while, but just have to keep in touch with all my buds here.

Power supply comments: The resistance measurements of an atomizer, like the 510 are cold measurements. When powered by a "real" source the atty heats up, the resistance will increase (like a light bulb). The low starting resistance and the source resistance of a small Li-ion battery and the light gauge wiring in the e-cig battery work against each other (but in your favor) by dropping a little voltage until the resistance of the atty goes up thus limiting the input pulse energy. Hit a cold atty hard with a high current capable source (like the 5 volt computer supply) and inrush current could fry an atty in one shot. Especially if the 5 volt supply unloaded is at the upper limit of 5.4 volts. A 0.2 to 0.4 ohm resistor (like is used in audio amps as a current limiter) would help to limit inrush. A 1n4004 diode would also reduce voltage by about 0.6 volts if your 5 volt supply is really about 5.4. Severely overheating the coil in the atomizer probably burns away any material in direct contact and reduces the heat sinking capability (survivability) of the coil. If you are frying attys, consider the resistor or the diode. The first 1/10 of a second is the hardest on the atty. I doubt you will notice any delay in gratification.

Hey, everybody on this forum knows there's not a jail built that could hold you... I mean, get real, you ARE the Rocketman! Now us lesser mortals want to know, can any of the information in your power supply comments be applicable to Sweett4art's passthrough issue? I know it was helpful to our official atty-slayer, Hachiroku, but not sure if it also provided a clue to the lack of power she reported above... maybe too high of an ohm resistance.... I'm not a techie but you did a good job of explaining it in layman's terms so I pretty much understood it. Does the battery in the passthrough line prevent problems?

The little aaa size li-ion battery they put in the 510 passthru seems to be the same one I used in my 3 battery flashlight mod (came from my e-cigars). More capacity than the normal 510 battery but like most cheap li-ion batteries, when they work they work well, when they don't work, they work like crap. I don't have a pass through with the inline battery, I should because I think they are safer when used with a computer.

Try to charge the passthru battery, no vaping, just charge for 8 hours or so. Then vape to see if the battery actually has a reasonable charge in it.

Some computer USB ports do not meet the USB 1.1 spec for current capability and may not supply enough to vape directly and if the battery isn't holding a charge it won't help none.

Disconnect any other USB devices connected and see if that helps. A USB keyboard, mouse, fan, portable disk enclosure can suck up any available USB power. If the 510 passthrough draws too much current, some newer computers will actually start to current limit just to protect itself.

You could always try someone elses computer when they aren't looking

And finally, resistance in a defective cord (to the e-cig) could cause enough loss to make the vapor go limp (hate when that happens).

And last but least, you aren't using an Apple computer are you?

Supposidly a USB puts out 5v. The inline battery puts out 3.7v. If a person was to cut the wires on each side of the battery and throw it away then splice the wires back together....would he then have a 5v vape? It seems to me it would but I'm not electricty savy like others here (rocket).
