Ok,bought a really crappy ecig (typical newbie move I guess) then lost the dang battery (really not sure where that went to). Bought another (a GS ecig) that I feel will work for me maybe. Am here looking for tips on how to improve the use of my GS ecig. I seem to be having some trouble making the transition from Regular Cigs to an ecig. And what is really strange is that when I use my ecig , regular smoke smells wonderful ( and I hate the smell usu) Anybody else have something similar happen? Ok so what I know, have juice and know how to refill my cartomizers :-) Down side, do not like the auto battery (sometimes it decides to cut out) want a manual that will work with the cartomizers I have. Help would be appreciated.

Welcome to Vapeatron! Now GS, I assume you mean Green Smoke(sorry to hear) but don't worry we all made that mistake. You gotta start somewhere right? We were all newbs at one point. One thing about autos I think you either like them or hate em. I use both, but I prefer manuals because I get a better vape and throat kick.

It is a tough transition, but I think give it a week or two and you will never go back. Sounds like you just had a bad newbie experience. I think the smell of cigs now is pure awful. You will soon realize this. I can't stand the taste or smell of a cigarette now.

Otherwise it is basically an oversized atomizer that uses a fan and heating coil.

Well, that and the fact it's just my wife and I that smoke, and a quart or even a pint of ejuice in an afternoon is a bit much.

RR, welcome to the neighbor hood.
My big mistake was a Smoke Everywhere ecig from the mall , it happens. Plan on upgrading as soon as time and budget permit. A couple of suggestions:
a. Get something available from many sources and that have common usage like a 510, 901, kr808D-1 , are held in high regard.
b. get sample juices until you find one that you enjoy. Buy from the same retailer as your hardware to save on shipping. If your willing to mix your own,get a higher strength juice and some vegetable glycerin (If you like a juice but it is too strong you can cut it to a lower level and save a buck or 2 and stretch your supply while you reorder)
c. Remember that there is a learning curve to vaping, like most things. Don't get discouraged if you still want a smoke, took me about 3 weeks to be smoke free. A burning cigarette still smells good to me,smelling like an ashtray doesn't.
d. Asking your questions is a good sign, everyone here wishes you success. Your personal experience with smoking will determine what your vaping needs are going to be.
we'll be here to help if we can and someone here will have a good answer or at least a humorous one. bikes

Great advice guys.
The only thing I can say in addition is everybody's tastes are different but the longer you hang with it and are willing to spend a little time and effort you can work it out. Hang around here and the more you pick up about different juices and devices the closer you get to what will work best for you. There is no one single answer that works perfect for everybody but you can discover a bunch of better ways learning from others experience.
I'm lucky I was able to jump completely over but I don't really think that's the norm from what I see around here. I wanted it that way so it kinda worked out that way for me.
Stick with it, your in the right church just maybe not the right pew just yet.

Absolutely! I always tell folks to "fish" for their strength and flavor before dropping a grip on refills, etc.

The important thing to realize is if you like VG better than PG, your better off with a 510 that say an 808D-1, the VG has a tendency to gum up attys alot quicker and I find with VG it is to viscous to pull right through a cartomizer. An easy remedy to this is thining with distilled water/PGA or even VG/PG mix.

For the newbie I always try to get them to focus on what is simple so they get over the initial period to get rid of the ciggys, then worry about the refilling with juice, experimenting with mods, etc.

There is so much out there for the new user to choose from it can get really confusing very fast.

Ok you mentioned something I have been investigating...BTW thank you all for the warm welcome. You mentioned the "kr808D-1" this is the battery I am thinking about trying out. I believe (and someone PLEASE correct me if I am wrong) that this battery will work with the cartomizers that I have. Not sure if they are really compatible tho (green smoke cartomizers and KR 808 D battery)

no. greensmoke are E9 batteries they are not compatible with KR808d-1's. Lecig.com carries D-2 cartomizers that will work for greensmoke's/smoke51 D-2 batteries.

a common mistake is people getting "greensmoke" mixed up with "Greencig", they are different companies and the batteries are different. Greencigs are kr808d-1's, greensmoke are E9's/D-2"s

Ok will call. LOL thinkin I was getting the two mixed up. TY all appreciate. Without all your help this habit probably would be costing me the same as the other.

Alright thank you all again. Called LeCig, Mike is wonderful by the way, and sorted out the differences (yup I was confused) and hopefully I can get off the regular cigs now and get fully into ecigs now.

Gonna keep following this site, it was also very helpful, shoulda joined before I bought my first ecig (which was a waste of money). Definitely should have joined after my second ecig (which was a bit better than the first) So I'm a bit slow and joined after my third ecig purchase (which was the GS) Now lets see if I can get it right the fourth time. LOL.

you'll get it, all in good time. you'll find alot of helpful people and make a few friends around here. of all the forum sites on the net, i call this one home. so you gonna stick with the e9 and buy some D-2 cartos? or you gonna buy somthing else? go with a lecig D-1, or if you like using an atty a joye 510. i hear good things about the ego from some of my comrades here on the forum. all depends on what you want, battery life vs analog sized e-cig. get somthing like the eGo and use 510 cartomizers, they work great. if you stray from analog sized e-cigs it might just get your mind off of tobacco sticks.

sorry for all the suggestions, i'm making your head spin huh....sorry.

I really like my riva ego. Way better than my mini in battery life. I still like having the mini as back up though. When Iwas looking at ego's I liked the way the Trex looked with the light up ring but I read a fair amount of complaints about subpar assembly and materials. I also heard about the Joye ego having sticking button problems. I dont know if all that is still true but I figured why take the chance.
I guess my point is read up a little and save your self aggravation and money later!

Hello, I started to use e-cig last month and it's good. Electronic cigarettes are becoming more and more popular these days, thanks to the many advantages they have over traditional cigarettes.

No Chris dont be sorry for the suggestions, I really appreciate them. So yes went with a D1 battery and some cartrimizers (trying to get hubby to the dark side ) um also Lecig threw in adapter so I can finish off my cartomizers from the D2, may switch to the D1 for myself. D2 from GS are out on loan to my mother, took a look at them yesterday... she is doing damage keeps putting them on charger and now one battery not holding charge well. She's also damaging the cartomizers I sent with her, going dry. Crap. Replaced and refilled as needed. Waiting on my D1 now :-)

Very true, but they really haven't hit the offline world big yet. I still get questions all the time "hey what is that". It is definitely the future.

A lot of the time AI get, "Hey, is that one of those smokeless cigarettes?" The word is out, but no one knows where to find them. I give them tips, including "Don't buy at the mall" and "Don't sign up for a "free trial"!"

Hi Everyone,

I am new to this site as well as the e-cig. I actually stumbled across this site by accident in trying to access another website. Anyway, I have been using the e-cig. for about 2 wks now and haven’t had a real one since I began. Yeah!!! I had never even heard of these devices until I happened across that David Letterman show a few weeks ago. I can’t stress enough how thankful I am for these devices after so many failed attempts to quit. Over the past 5 years, I have lost 2 close friends and family member to lung cancer and even with my own fears of getting lung cancer, I could not stop. (And it was not a pretty site trying to quit).

The devices I have (Nebula and Smoke Stik) take some getting used to but so far so good. I have learned a lot from everyone’s posts on this site. Thank you.
