In my travels, i made this chart, and a note is that there is some values that are theoretical in this reference. i would not recommend going up to 20 watts or more and after that the device may burn up and or explode.
The reason i made this chart was very simple, volts x amps, make watts, so if you change the voltage and amperage but wish to keep the same watts its easy and if you have a reference its even easer. this is based on bolt ohms law and inverse proportionality, in reference to amperage and voltage.
Now, i want to say i have found a sweet spot, around 6 volts and 3 ohms, using boge cartomisers. This is where i am happy and find the best vapor/flavor combo for ME.
Now if you use a pigcig or ego/eco/ect and you find that you like 3.7 at 1.5 ohms <such as a true lr atty> you will be at 9.12 watts. If you wanted a lil warmer but cant find any lower res then 1.5 <other then custom attys cause i have not found a 1 ohm yet, but i am looking> then you can find that same vape at a different voltage. 6.5 volt at 4.5 ohm.
Now if your like me and make or use mods <yumm yumm> lets say your battires all have died for a 5 volt regulated mod, and you have none of them left to use, and you have a back up mod or set up. You may find that a 3.7 volt batt with a 1.5 atty will give you the same as a 5 volt at 3 ohm.
any thoughts and derailing for me?

The only thing we might consider adding info on 3.2 volt as well and perhaps kanthal or nicrome guages Ohm data perhaps...?

But if any one has any favorites to add please do. and thank you berger for making this a sticky, i am honored in fact.. this is really cool.. |

| My favorite wattage is generally 6-9watts, 8watts being my best experience.

| Your welcome Tek..I've always thought this is the key to it all. Everybody is looking to increased voltage then lower ohms but to me wattage tells the most accurate story across a myriad of different devices.
I've seen charts on Nichrome and Kanthal gauges for ohm ratings and will put something together. Any luck this may turn out to be a good resource for people to get a handle on things instead of just guess and buy discovery.

| Ok now, i already typed this out but it dissapeared...
Berger for me and what i use,
juice Vaporrenu.com, cotton candy 36mg 60/40
cartomisers or attys
all day cartomisers <thank you rose for turning me on to boge tech, and vapor renu>
mods,
flashlight mod 3.7/6
pigcig 3.7
varivolt box mod
varivolt pass threw
tractortrailer <thanks to rocket>
omega 3.7/6
pefered resistance and voltage combo, 6v@3ohm
my thoughts on the holy grail, of mods...
A vari volt, auto juicefeeding, wattage display, fully customisable for size and look, from tube to box, able to take modular components, able to adjust to battery size, customisable look weather be mettal or wood or bolth <with a moudular make> replacement cubes cheap, and water proof. thats a start... |

And what are cubes in relation to a PV?

And what are cubes in relation to a PV? | well, i have seen some tube mods that are modular, or made in to different parts as additions to change the size, see The Indulgence, or others that you can add on to, to change battery size or voltage.
My idea is basically 1inch cubes that when the parts are put tougher make a mod, like head for 510, 808, ect, button, batt compartment, and for a box mod with the right parts attached, kinda like a mod with legos if ya get what i am thinking... you want a 3.7 well buy a batt section, switch section and a connector section, put them tougher for your mod, but want to upgrade to a vari volt, then substitution parts and bammm... all the way to what i said b4.
fully user customizable for a reasonable price, not no 200 or 300$ bs... |

Originally Posted by berger D..can you elaborate on that a little..type of equipment and voltages and ohms if you have them? | I'm always using my Jazz, unless the cartomizers I buy are nowhere near the resistance that they were marketed as; which, sadly is 70% of the time. I swear it's impossible for merchants to actually distribute cartomizers that are +/-.2ohms. It's always off by .4ohms or worse. The worst I bought were from ElectroNicStix. They were listed as 2.0ohm and they ended up 2.5ohm to 3.5ohm cartomizers. I brought it up to him, and the jackass simply said he told the manufacturer. Great customer service, right!?
So, with my VMU (this is why variable voltage is awesome), I will offset my voltage to work with the ohms of the cartomizer. I rate EVERY cartomizer I buy before I use it. If it's 2.2ohms or lower, I'll use it in the Jazz, although I have yet to try a cartomizer below 2.1ohms.
So, if my mint cartomizer rates at 2.3ohms I'll run the math out to go as close to 8watts as I can get. For instance: 3.7v*3.7v/2.3ohms=5.95watts
Not what I want. So, I'll dial up the voltage to 4.0v and run the math again. 4v*4v/2.3ohms=6.96watts
Still not there, but getting closer. Let's try 4.5v. 4.5v*4.5v/2.3ohms=8.80watts
A little too high. Remember, I want to be as close to 8watts as I can get. How about 4.3v? 4.3v*4.3v/2.3ohms=8.04watts
Hit the nail on the head! Time to fill it up, and start vaping.

| Now I finally understand the utility of the vari-volt. Tell me, does it measure the resistance, or do you have to put your cart on a meter?
