I have an atty that I have been using and was working fine, then all of sudden it started to get weak, So i cleaned it and blew it out, started to work again for around 5 puffs and seemed good, but then stopped working, so I blew it out again and it works for 5 puffs and then stopped again, I can keep doing this and same thing happens, using red smoke tennessee cured from JC, any recommendations would be appreciated, I also ran it under hot water and blew it out and let it sit over nite and same thing happened.
Thanks

There are many here more experienced with attys Steel, but my GUESS IS, you will need to burn off the gunk which has collected on the coil. It would seem you have something here akin to dripping. That is to say, the juice you apply only last long enough for it to burn off. It's not soaking in due to hard coating in the wick device. How long were you using it? It could need a soak in "cleaner" overnight and if that does not clear the gunk? You may have to resort to dry burn to save it. Better replies forthcoming?

thanks for the input, any recommendations what to soak it in., oh and i have been using it for around 2 weeks, stock one from ego starter kit, i have also heard those are not the best atty and they are hit or miss, just want to try and get by till my next round of purchasing, i do have some other options to get me by, CE2s but I like the flavor a little bit better with the cartridge, but it looks like it will be sooner than later. thanks again.

If you bought a real Janty/Joye eGo those are the best atties available.

Here is a guy who seems to be in know, or at least has experience with attys. Perhaps we can give the kid some answers on cleaning?

For me, I use 92% alcohol for quick rinse with cartos, and overnight soak for atty. In your case it would seem an overnight soak to break up the gunk, perhaps followed by a dry burn, burn being the final attempt.

Keep asking Steel, you will get an answer here.

Apologize to steel88 for the "kid" referral but with 16 post you could be construed as such Other reason being.....I'm most likely your senior and should be taken as a compliment.

I would get some 92% (alcohol, vodka, all the usual suspects) whenever it's convenient and soak them for a while. It really does sound like your crusted over and coil is coated with residue. The juice cannot saturate so it hits off what is there. I only respond due to lack of response from persons better in the know. That, or they assume your taken care of and I'm correct in diagnosis LOL

Let us know!

Steel your symptoms seem to be an atty that has caramelised juices on the coil of the atty. Gmav has a handle on it I think.
There are probably 15-20 methods for removing the baked on crud;I'm guessing you don't want to hear anything about easy-off. Alcohol, peroxide and diet cola have all been successful soaking agents for me. DO NOT USE ANY KIND OF SOAP. It will stay in the atty, cause you to swear and then we'll have to wash your mouth out with soap.
Alcohol soaks do seem to help for me, especially with dry burning. (If you apply power to the atty in 2-3 sec. bursts with a sec. of "rest" between burns until the atty stops smoking you risk frying the atty.) I accept the risk because I have several of everything. Spares are a good idea for the commited vaper. Vaping supplies are consumables. Proceed at your own peril.

Well, I got tired of BURNING OUT ATTIES! so I tried the cartomizers at Rocket's recommendation. Not as flavorful as the 510 atomizer, but decent vapor production and at $1.75, if it lasts a week, cool, 10 days, better! Note that the vapor is decent, but the flavor takes a hit. It all tastes like either corn syrup or pineapple juice. The CE2s are good but a PITA for filling on the go. They taste better and the vapor is on par with a cartomizer. I've burned a few of these out, however; the Clearomizers. I've fried one CE2 in a metal case, but that was after 2 weeks. What I've been doing is filling 2 CE2s in the morning and taking them with me. This has been working well. I have a mod I made that plugs into my ciggie lighter and is regulated at 4.3V, so I get the 2.6-3 ohm varieties to use on that, and I use the 2.5 CE2/Clearomizer or 2 ohm Boge cartomizer on either a big battery or eGo when out and about. I generally get at least a week, more often 10 days, and sometimes 2 weeks out of these combinations, and at $1.65-1.90 each, no biggie. I can handle 16-19 cents a day!

I just got tired of frying $8 atomizers after 5-8 days, but I still like the 510 Joye the best. If I could get them to go at least 2-3 weeks I'd be a happy camper...
