| Okay, I have looked through the forum and can't find an answer to this. I have used the Smoke Stik and now the 510 manual and neither one gives me a throat hit. I can't figure out why because that is one of the big selling points of the 510. I am wondering if nicotine levels have anything to do with it? I mean like the higher the nicotine the better the TH? I know that, supposedly, PG does a better job with that than VG but I am using the PG base. Any help please?

| Neaky, my understanding is that the 510 has only moderate throat hit but more vapor.
Alcohol in the juice increases TH, you get more TH in PG based juices and higher nic increases TH across the board. Strangely I get best overall TH and vapor from my 4081, and yes I paid way to much for it at the mall. I may look around for a reasoably priced 4081 kit with another vendor, just to see if there is any consistancy in that model . bikes | |

| Throat hit? exactly what is throat hit?
Is it like the cartomizer that started to melt on me, and every puff burnt like the dickins in the back of my throat? I'm not sure I like throat hit.
I like the feel of hot vapor when I inhale. But not anything that gives me a sore throat.

| I just got my Halo Freedom Juice (yeah talk about an Americana name...) and I have to say I get a pretty good throat hit off of it. Also, the vapor is lovely. Not sure what all went into it, but I'm willing to estimate a dominance of VG. Funny thing too, my first hit off it made me choke a bit! So did the next 10 or so... not used to this much vapor in one shot.

| Neaky, have you been dripping? I know when you drip with 18mg-36mg of liquid that the throat hit is intense. Ive been dripping with my Crown7 Hydro and my AUTHENTIC Joye 510 for about 3 months now and they both hit the throat damn good. I can say that if you use just cartridges that the throat hit isnt as intense as dripping...

| Maybe a new atty is in order? I know the other day for some reason my auto 510 disposable wasn't producing the usual throat hit although the vapour production was there....i took the cart and put it on my manual 510 and instant difference. | |

...a throat hit (TH) can be entirely subjective to an individual experiencing it.
Equipment can play a part when imparting a "dose" ( Please excuse the clinical terminology!), in a pleasant and rapid way.
It might be the nicotine strength to some degree and the rate of absorption an individuals system receives without shocking it to the point of distress.
I hate to use the word "rush" here, but many may understand its place in this explanation. Some might even substitute it for the word "hit" in throat hit. ( Fits huh?) 
I guess to best way I sum up the throat hit experience; when one gets one, one knows they did.

| Thanks Stehle! Don't know if I get it or not, but I enjoy vaping, don't have cravings for analogs and am not grumpy so I must be getting what I need. It's not broke, I won't fix it

| 18 mgs but I recently tried 24 mg and got what I define as a throat hit from that (today as a matter of fact) so I guess I need to up the nicotine. Thanks to all of you for the help. | |

That's why I suggest staying away from anything but Kosher Food Grade VG, preferably bought at a food store, a natural food store or from a reputable on line dealer. I was going to get some from a hardware store, but, as Rocket said, "If it's meant for rubbing on cow butts, use it for rubbing on cow butts"!
It seems in anything but food grade PG or VG, anything goes, so make sure you know what you're buying!
