| The NicoStick is a simple AA battery box mod that can be built for about $30-35 including a spare battery and charger. It can be set up for a number of different atomizers. I set mine up for the 901 atty. It features a 3.6 volt 900 mAh Li-ion battery (that should last all day) and a manual switch. With a little electro-mechanical know how and basic soldering skills, it took me about 30 minutes to build.
The above link shows you how to build it. Have fun

| Like it. I think most folks out there could make a custom if they just sat down and took the time. Not much to lose. 'bout the worst that could happen is frying a $9 901 atty, big deal.
I would post a really cool smiley, If i had one.

| Here is my take on the nicostick
USB rechargeable in a AA case. I am building another version this week using a custom PCB to clean it up a bit.

| "I SAID CUT THE GREEN WIRE!!! THE GREEN WIRE!"
My friends say my box looks like a detonator. If I was ever in a jam, I would hold it up in the air pressing the button and say, "NOBODY MOVE, I HAVE A BOMB!"
just before I got shot, I would take a nice long puff... |

| I almost b\purchased a bartelby, but wanted something that would take the 18650 bat i have for my JuiceBox. I purchased a Chuck instead. But when i get home will definetly be ordering the parts to try making my own Bartleby/Nicostix.

| If I haven't said enough on here... I LOVE my Bartleby Cybervex does great work.
big... my daughter was home from college for the weekend and I had my Bartleby on the desk in front of me. She looks at it and says "mom why do you have a detonator?" I laughed, picked it up, took a big puff and blew the vapor at her. She just rolled her eyes and walked off. LOL |

Some copper pipe and one decent switch. It has no master turn off/on or LEDs. The copper body also has the lowest resistance.
Here's the prototype: The "FOG LOG" - Page 2 - E-Cigarette Forum
There are various ways to go about it. It should be easier than a flashlight MOD as you can adjust the length to suit your skill. Notice this lady trimmed the caps with a tubing cutter. It should look nice polished.
A 2XAA box mod has a few more components and squeezing everything in takes a bit more patience and a steady hand with the soldering iron. Also drilling plastic can be an experience. Make sure to clamp/hold it down firmly. |

I broke my box 2 times in two different places, and held it together w/ duct tape. Yes it was that bad. I think it made it look even more like a detonator. |

| Yup, Duct tape.
If it moves and ain't supposed to, use duct tape.
If it don't move and is supposed to, use WD40.
and it neither of those methods fix it,
it's an electrical problem.

| Harbor Freight, Dollar Tree, some of my favorite places.
I really need to get one of the little Lathes they have (HF not DS).
Cheapo but would be really handy.
and you can carve out the holes in the plastic with the soldering iron.
(smells like an overheated atty though)

Patience is a virtue! I am that way too (my friends used to call me "Full Bore" because I tend to go at things like a bull in a china shop...). Man's gotta know his limitations...do a little, check, a little more, check, a little more...closer...a LITTLE more et viola!

| Rocket, I bought one of their Pittsburg drill presses years ago and it was a "little" loose, little being relative. Drilled very funny shaped holes. When I finally got to check it out with a dial indicator spindle had .030" run out when full extended(tighter at the top), 6-32 bottom tap that for fun and entertainment.
Hachi, that's why I said don't know when to stop: like traveling with a kid "are we there yet?, are we there yet?, etc. |
