| OK - I've posted a few times. I bought a generic cartomizer??? Maybe an 808....the place I bought it from doesn't have a clue what they're selling. I want to stop the analogs - NOW. I've had it. I need a crash course. I've used the new setup long enough to know I love vaping. HELP!
Could someone help this old woman get started???

| OK, sure.
Post a list of what you have.
Numbers of batteries, number of cartomizers, strength of cartomizers if pre-filled,
how many still have juice in them, how many don't
how much juice do you have (or none),
What seemed to work, and what didn't.
Tell us where you are at, progress wise, and what you see as impediments to moving forward.
Sounds like you are a low-stress kind of gal, so I'm sure you can get the info you seek right here.

| Girl...just use up what you have and get a 510. Parts are cheap and readily available. If your still smoking reg ciggies try using the standard 510 battery. It feels more like a cig in your hand then the bigger batteries.

| Hey Rocketman and everyone,
I'm STRESSED all the time, big time when I'm working. Work in the death care industry - however, I try to keep to piano, cello, crocheting, cooking, etc when I'm home. Smoked too damn much for too long. Looking forward to the day I can really call myself a 100% Vaper.
Today is my first day actually preferring e-cigs - YEAH. I think that's a start. Been sober in AA for 23 years - so, I'm letting this go and not setting any certain goals/quit date, ad nauseum. Since I've got this addictive brain, I gotta use my higher power to do any damn thing. When I try to control anything, I lose. Can't do a damn thing by myself; I fail every time. If WE can get 'er done (converting from analogs), I know there's huge benefits ahead. Then what comes after that is.....the future, that's it.
So....I'm taking this a day at a time.
Went on a road trip yesterday - I used my GPS and I bet I called 10 different tobacco stores. NO e-cigs anywhere on the trip; however, there's a small smoke shop close to home that is carrying these 808 looking kits. No manual, no instructions - no brand. Has tiny holes in the gold joint between 2 parts (or is it 3????).
It's all black. Has a cap with a filter in it, a piece that sits inside that with a metal loop and a battery. All is about as long as a reg cig. The cartridges don't last very long at all. Does that sound familiar????
Smoked Malboro Lites for 35+ years - started in Germany in the Army. Up to a couple of packs a day - disgusting. I've quit smoking 3 times, 6 months at the most.
Now, I'm paying for it. Have rheumatoid arthritis and paying for boots on the ground big time. I get up, suit up and start my day.....stinkin'. Man, I can't wait to start smelling better. The more my joints hurt, the more I smoke - YUK.
I think I have an 808 generic. Can buy the 24 and 32 mg locally - not too bad. Have 2 batteries and I'm using cartomizers. Went to Chris' ref website and found a pretty good reviewed Marlboro tasting juice. May try dripping???? until I can find a good setup online.
Someone asked me how tall I am 8-) - I'm almost 6 foot.
Well anyway - would appreciate any, all help. I just read a post about a poor guy had a paypal transaction cancelled (by paypal) because he sent off for an e-kit here in the USA. I understand how big tobacco can lobby everyone to get this enterprise shut down soon. I know how big business has influenced the industry I work in - I actually promote green funerals/dispositions (anti-big business). I won't be surprised if we'll all be in dire straits within 6 months - not being able to buy e-cigs (supplies too) online. The Kansas Attorney General published an opinion - he's not going to try to regulate the e-cig business here.
Think we all should get off our butts and contact our state legislators with REAL information. I think the e-cig industry is going to be the biggest threat to big tobacco as of the present day. We need to jump on this before ignorance takes over and threatens our ability to purchase and/or find e-products. I'm planning on getting on my soapbox locally.
Thanks for the speedy reply.... BTW, the cartridges just kinda go wimpy a couple of times a day. I'm using the 32's now.

| Kansas, that's not too far from Arkansas.
Call Lecig, phone number on website, or PM him here. Discuss one on one what to do from this point. If what you have is 808D-1, he's got stuff. Even if it's 808D-2, he's got stuff.
and Yes, it's one day at a time, and sometimes you restart the counter.

| Hang in there Chic. When you get to the point that your down to 1 or 2 ciggs a day your sense of smell and taste comes back. And you wont be able to stand the smell of reg. cigs! The first month or so is the hardest.

Chicopee in Kansas | Ditto on Lecig. I haven’t purchased anything, yet… but I’ve read nothing but good things. The “pigcig” I believe is exactly like the ego except its for 808 stuff. (ego is in the 510 category) I love the ego. I am about a month and a half into vaping and it is hard. Not a morning I don’t wake up with brain screaming for a cig. I smoked for 25 years and have a huge metal addiction to it. The ego goes a long way in helping. Hang in there and take it day by day. Try to gradually decrease the cigs. and don’t beat yourself up. Day by day…. |

Now back to about 3 a day, except yesterday and today, about 6 each day. Still better than 15...

First one made me puke then when I tried again a few days later, the taste was too bad. Didn't last beyond the 4th puff. The remaining box is acting as my security blanket now. Not smoking them but they are their if I need 'em. |

Chic | Didn't want to quote the whole other thing:
DON'T keep a pack of cigs in the car! I don't know how much time you spend driving, but I am in a car all day, at least three hours and sometimes up to 6 or even 8. If I get REALLY stressed out I take a couple cigs with me, but not a whole pack. Have a couple atomizers or a cartomizer or two, a small bottle of juice; I carry enough to last 4-5 days, and a battery or two (I would suggest a BIG battery, 650maH or more) and even a USB passthru and a device that plugs into the ciggy lighter with a USB outlet on it. That will give you plenty of battery power. If you can, take your battery and a atomizer with you, and instead of going outside sneak into the bathroom. If someone sees the smoke coming from the stall, tell them "It's steam from my portable vaporizer!" They might smell vanilla or something, but not smoke.

| I use the sneak in bathroom method at work also. No one ever knows and I get done with work at least a half hour earlier then I used to when I went outside for smoke breaks.
