Lipton "Pyramid" Tea Bags (PTB) - Used As Cart Filler Material

This was not my original idea by any means... but after reading 1000's of posts in different forums I decided to give it a try in one of my 510's and share with my friends.

(I'd try about anything once!)

Although forum poster DrSarcasmo didn't come up with the original idea either this is his method of using PTB's and I give him the credit for this method :

Take a PTB , pull the tag & string off, pull apart at the seams. Empty tea out carefully. You will then have one long piece of mesh, about 2" x 1". Cut it in half, making two 1" x 1" pieces. Take one and roll it thin and kind of tight. then fold in half so you have a folded tube with the fold at the bottom and 2 rolled ends on top.

Place it in the cart and trim the rolled ends so that they are JUST under the lip of the cart. Fill cart with juice, and vape on! After a day or 2 you can take the roll out with tweezers and run it under hot water to clear out any dried or sticky juice. Dry with a paper towel and place it back in your cart.

I have since used various different methods: single length carpet folded (the above method) carpet roll, double carpet roll, double carpet roll (folded), double length carper roll, triple length carpet roll, modified roll, etc.

I know you probably are laughing now... BUT... I experimented with all the all the above methods and my findings are:

If you just stuff the PTB material in a cart any which way... it's better vaping than any material I've found so far. 'nuff said.

Personal Experience:

Nylon or PET(Won't melt as fast as poly.)
Food Grade (It's for making tea isn't it?)
Inexpensive ($3.69 for box - 20 bags = 40 Carts)
Easy to Use* (Roll, Bend, Stuff & Cut.. No stirrer stick or cart Mod needed!)
*I found it easier to use than any Poly!
Re-Usable (Rinse able!
Fills Fast (Just drops from bottle!)
Wicks Great!
No Leaking
Smooth Draw (Oh so light. Oh so smooth! Best vape I've had yet!)
Tons of Vapor ( Not even trying... see above!)

After almost 2 weeks Vaping from the same single cart, (With rinse, refilling &topping up), I would have to say durable too!

I know, I know...you say you've tried tea bags before... so had I.

Were they LiptonŽ Pyramid Tea Bags?

Final Thoughts:

I read all the info on PET products, if indeed they are made from it. Given my own personal observations I've made with my own eyes, with no burnt plastic observed and no burnt taste to deal with. I consider it an acceptable risk for me given how well they work. At least until something better and organic comes along.

It may be a poor analogy, but I liken these PTB's to sky diving...

"If you are very observant and pack your chute well, you don't have much to worry about."

Try them if you'd like!

Besides...you can drink the tea too...I love the Tuscan Lemon!

***Note: These are my personal experiences with them, so...

Individual user mileage may very, some assembly required, batteries not included. Use at you own risk!***

Giving back..so many posts & posters, so little time

Stehle,
Maybe 4 or 5 of us could go in together on a roll of this and divide it up so we each had enough to refurbish 432,565 cartridges.

Actually, I haven't even used a box of 24 yet they last so long.

(...but I'll take that as a "no".)

So had I, regular tea bags that is. These new pyramid bags can't hold that tea flavor as the conventional bags of old would.

Might be worth a second look and you might be pleasantly surprised the second time around.

(I posted a how to video on them somewhere on here... honestly would someone go as far as to make a video if there wasn't something to them.)

Search on eBay - you can buy boxes of emptys. Eg: 80 bags for about $9 with shipping.

I've also heard that hemp tea bags work quite well, may give them a try.

Rick, I looked, but didn't find them. Perhaps a link or your search criteria when you get a chance would be most helpful.

Thanks in advance!

No problem:

Pyramid Tea Bags on eBay

Look in the list for the PG Tips Pyramid Tea Bags. I found packages of 80, 160 and 240 count.

Maybe one of us could buy a package then use PayPal to re-mail some and dole them out to members that wanted some.

Also, here are the hemp ones - just singles, much more expensive:

Rick I really love you man! Thank you!

I'm not sure about those PG Tip ones though.

The Lipton Pyramid Tea Bags that I use only cost about $3.49 a 24 pack.

...and can be bought in most any supermarket or super Wal-Mart store.

I have used about 10 of those mainly from experimentation.

They are quite reusable.

Many of the die hard PTB users were looking for bulk or empty bags because they didn't like tea or wasting it. (Going totally green with it.)

The hemp ones were a good read and I may try them also someday.

8 inches by 25 yards for $2.99=SCORE!

I went to Michaels (craft store) today. I was, other than husbands being dragged through there and staring at the floor, the only male. So far so good ;-)

They have what is known as "Tulle" which is some kind of polyester wedding veil stuff (I *think* as it was in the wedding isle. I read about it on the other forum.

I cut about a 2"x3" piece, folded it, put another little "hem" at the fold, rolled it up, frayed it with two snips, trimmed it to fit flush wiht the top of the cart (trimthe frayed end NOT the folded and hemmed end) and stuffed it frayed-end first into a 510 cart. They call it the "Plug mod" as the fold tends to plug the opening and prevents leakage while helping wicking.

My cart took 18 rather than 11-12 drops, did not leak a bit, and I am getting good hits right on down to the bottom! I have not felt a need to top-off as with the standard filling.

PTB's are 110 mile round trip for me so I'm thrilled with this find!

It is a litte hard to work with as it does not hold a crease and is tough to roll up but I can live with that. I have a feeling I've cut juice waste in half and it sure is nice to get a bunch of good hits from a cart rather than topping off all the time.

Check it out: "Tulle" in the Wedding aisle. $2.99

I also picked up a little plastic case that will hold 4 510s with Mega-batteries, a couple attys, and a 5 ml bottle of juice for $1.99. I cut two sponges to fit and now I've got a cool travel case.

All for just over 5 bucks!

Cool huh?

I'm amazed at how much better this is. It was SO nice to vape at work without having to keep topping-off and fiddlin' around with carts and bottles of juice and whatnot.

This stuff leaves my carts EMPTY and the material is nearly dry. The last hit is the first "dry" tasting hit and at that point it is EMPTY.

I pulled my poly fiber filler out of all my carts, threw itall out, sanitized my carts, and spend 20 minutes rollin' and stuffin' with Tulle and I'm ready to rock for the next month.

Cut my juice waste down to almost nothing- I'm gonna miss my "potluck" juice botte but I'll get over it!

Try it- you'll LOVE it!

Generic,
I know this is kinda off topic, but where did you get the Avatar? It's kind of a Bartlett Pear gets run through H.R. Giger's brain pan thing. Creepy, and dangerous but cool and interesting at the same time. Why is it that creatures with no eyes are so dangerous looking? Threre used to be a paper and dice role playing game called "Skyrealms of Jorune" that had a race of beings that had a similar look. Yeah I know, I'm a dork and yes I used to play paper and dice games, LOL.

I have no idea where I found it- It's a much larger pic in color and it just kinda caught my eye (since the poor pear/squash-a-majig doesn't have any).

Kinda reminds me of Master Shake of ATHF fame.

If you'd like a the full pic lemme know and I'll post it somewhere and pm you the link.

I've found several websites that sell tulle in bulk, but I'm curious if you're able to buy a roll of non-dyed tulle or if white tulle is the equivalent. I'd rather not risk breathing in dyes if I can help it.
