| Ok, after reading a bit on these forums, I have decided that this vape community is excellent for help and whatnot. Obviously, I am a noob at vaping and was hoping I could get some answers to a few questions that I have. After (minimal) research, I chose the v2 starter kit (which from what I gather is kr808, no?).
I like the menthol flavor, amount of vapor, and throat hit, i am just not thrilled with how long a cart lasts. I refill with the condom method, which works extremely well for me with around 15 drops. I vape pretty heavily as a noob i suppose and i am interested in trying to achieve making carts last as long as possible. I've read I've little about tanks and clearomizers (?) that use a wick to deliver the fluid to be vaped. Are there carts like this available for my battery type?
thanks in advance! |

| decay1134 Welcome to VapeAtron! Yes the V2 is a KR808 style set up, it is what I started out with and use occasionally in a pinch. There is a bunch of stuff that is compatible for that style however I have not seen any tank system that is compatible with the 808 usually they are 510 threaded. You could get some adapters 808 to 510 that will allow you to use 510 threaded items on your 808 battery. Get your reading glasses ready and prepare for a lot of reading if you really want to learn about vaping, this is the place to do it. The FAQ's are filled with great information and if you have a question that you cannot find the answer to feel free to ask, the members here will be happy to assist you in a friendly albeit slightly crazy way. Best of luck on your vaping journey!

Best of luck on your vaping journey! | Thanks for the info and the warm welcome! Since I posted that original message, I've discovered that V2's are sort of a rip off really. It seems to be more marketing than anything else. That being said, I do like the product, but have since seen a number of sites offering kr808 kits at roughly half the price I paid. However, to be fair, I wanted to go with a legit company and as I am still a cherry vaper, I went with a product my friend recommended, the V2's. I think that for my replacement batts and carts, I will go with a cheaper brand. Thanks again for the info! |

Yeah, a lot of us started with overpriced kits, because we didn't know any better! If we had all come here first... |

My first kit was close to 400 bucks. |

| Decay, welcome to Vapeatron, didn't know you could get help here I thought this was a union hall for out of work comedians, who'd of thunk it?
On any ciggy sized device you want to stay away from low resistance(LR) atomisers(atties) or cartomisers(cartos). LR will ruin a ciggy sized battery in short order.
LeCig is good as is SmokTek(hosted by Cigarman another of our vendor members.) Smoktek has the echo model PVs(personal Vaporizer) which are a bigger battery (4times the vape time) and cartos which are 808D threaded. you can use your 808 cartos or they have a carto that looks like a pipe stem that holds about 2.5 ml of juice(e-liquid) or about 3 times the juice of a normal carto. Good luck on your vaping quest. welcome again.

Lmao, yeah, people see that huge thick cloud of vapor and forget about them asking what you got |

I was at the mall 2 weeks ago (about a week after starting vaping) and I was approached by a vendor as I was walking past. I wasn't going to stop because I assumed their products were going to be overpriced. The lady stopped me anyway and showed me how much vapor their product produces. I pulled out my v2 and showed her how much mine produced. Mine won by a small margin, but she insisted her product was better. She claimed the juice was water based, rather than oil based and went on and on about the danger of strokes with oil based juice. Her cartos did NOT fit my battery, but looked quite similar the 808's. The threads even looked pretty close.
Now, from what I was taught and correct me if I'm wrong, nicotine as a drug constricts blood vessels that can lead to strokes and heart attacks. Is there anything in PG or VG that could actually cause a stroke? It doesn't seem to make sense. Nicotine seems to be a more logical culprit.
Ok, apologies! My reply could have started two new threads really. Pushy mall vendors and health issues!
BTW: My wife was embarrassed and started walking away, so I quickly asked how much a typical starter kit costs and she replied that they start at $150 and go up to $400. I wish I could remember the name of the brand. Oh well. |

| I'm not going to give you answers, just advice
Don't confront people if you aren't armed with knowledge.
I can draw a crowd at a mall kiosk

I can draw a crowd at a mall kiosk | Actually, the vendor stopped me and asked if I was a smoker. I told her that I had started vaping instead. What bothers me most is listening to some mall kiosk vendor who would probably tell me anything to make a sale. That is why I have already grown to love this particular site. Good info, good people and lots of laughs!!! |

| Most mall vendors have "hired help".
They have to study a hand out given them.
Knowing facts is comforting.
(you are putting this stuff into your body)
And can come in handy
Become a walking encyclopedia of e-cig knowledge.

Um yeah not in it for $ when their $150 kit is roughly what you can get at walmart $40 Mistic kit (well used to herd mistic fadding )
Yes the "stroke componnent" in e-juice is the nic not the PG or VG. Now I believe the risk of stroke via vaping is greatly reduced from smokeing due to other toxins in tobacco.

| Well don't knock the BIG boys too much, they were the ones who had the resources to take on the FDA in court. NJOY & Smoking Everywhere spent some real $ in their court cases. You don't here too much these days about the FDA seizing/holding shipments from China.

Agree. Somebody has to feed the legal/political/economic machines.
