| Yep I decided to combine it all in one since betas were released last week.
If you don't know the kick is a little device that actually fits in the mod between the battery and the battery connection. The device allows you to control your mod based on the darwin technology. In other words this will let you control the mod by wattage.
As it is right now as I said the betas went out last week. Right now it is a max of 10watts. That may change. There is also no display or any indication of where you set it except little markings on the potentiometer as of right now.
The way you adjust the wattage on the prototypes is by the potentiometer that sits inside the mod built into a microchip/booster.
The mods that it will be able to fit into are many 18650 mods. Any mod that is telescopic. 18650 box mods would be quite tricky but there is a discussion about another device in the works but as for right now this is pretty much just for tube mods at this point.
If there is not enough room with the standard 18650 battery to add the chip inside the mod like for instance the silver bullet. You will be able to use an 18490 or 18500 battery and place the chip/device in the mod.
This can not be used with other variable voltage devices and this can not be used with stacked batteries.
I do not know the warranty or a confirmed price or for sure which features this will have. They are saying around $45.00 for the price. As we know that is always subject to change before release.
The theory behind this chip/device is not to have another device that is superior to the darwin. With this technology the theory of it is to the ability to actually utilize the tube mods you already have and still provide you with the awesome technology from evolv.
Oh and the best part of this device, it is AMERICAN MADE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here are a few pictures, keep in mind this is the prototype only!! http://imgur.com/a/OI6aD#6
Here is the thread on ecf!! http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/for...ick-evolv.html

| I think it is really going to open doors. There are some great things coming from evolv and I think we have just started seeing the very first bits of them.
I am excited for those that have tube mods, now they don't want to have to buy an entire device to have vv or regulated wattage.
Not to mention the people that hate the look of the darwin. They can still have the darwin features and still have the look of a tube mod.
This is going to be awesome!! |

| for me the most important thing is turning a great looking device like a super T 18490 s
& turn it in to a VW device.
once you used VV or VW you never look back!
i just hope they will have stock a plenty & stock for other modders to get creative.

| Well I hear different things. One I hear there will be plenty, then two I hear it will be a limited supply. Though it has been confirmed that it will not just be exclusive to only nhaler as the darwin is here in the states. Who knows for sure!!
I totally agree once you go regulated wattage or variable voltage you will never go back to anything else. I absolutely love my darwin and I wouldn't sell it for twice what I paid for it!!!!!
9.2 watts is sweeeeeettttttt!!!! I seriously haven't wanted a cigarette since I got it!! |

| As is right now there are many out there it will fit in. I think the cheapest tube mod out there that it should work with this kick is the maxi rough stack v2 for like 40 bucks at madvapes.
GG, empire mod, silver bullet, the maxi rough stack to name the main ones out there. Pretty much if the mod is a tube mod and holds an 18650 you will be able to decrease the battery size and still allow the drop of the kick.

| it will also work very well for adjustabale battery mod like the GGTS & make the UFS Attachement even better to use!
i can see the Modders version revolutionise the mod industrie in general.
modders will build custom mods to take the evolve & have the ability to use it as a mechanical mod should the "electronics"fail.
can't wait!!!!!

| Well to have to take apart/open the mod to tweak the watts will be a pain. Anyone who has used one of those little one turn (actually 270 degree) trimmers knows how twitchy they are. Want 9.2W? Good luck. Without some sort of meter it seems like a trial and error approach. Try to set it, put it back in... wait, it seems a bit off. Take it apart again.
I imagine it will be fine for those who use just one atty/carto.
As I've said currently I'm using 1.6Ω DCs (~12W), 1.7Ω singles (~8W) and 2.6Ω CE2s (~6W).
The DCs are OK at ~9W, but the 1.7Ω singles are not suited for ~12W.
Well I guess I could compromise and run them all at 9W, but the CE2 would be burnt tasting.

| Oh man..I just figured there was a simpler interface like a dial or something..I could live without the display but having to take it apart would be a royal PITA

| Yeah it would be a pain in the butt if were changing voltage, but since we are talking about wattage, you can set it and go. |

| You know I know this doesn't apply to ce2's. I did a little testing a few days ago. I was struggling with my asthma and I HATE going to the doctor so I have been buying the primetine mist inhalers this entire time. Long story but obama passed a bill that stops the sale of the inhalers on dec 31st. Well finding them has been hard.
Anyway I always notice with a new carto my asthma flares up even more. So I broke down and (I told you I hate going to the Doctor) and boiled every single carto I had new or old (of course I kept the new away from the old). I boiled them regardless if they were single or dual.
You know what I found out? After boiling all of my cartos, it didn't make a hill of bean difference what ohm my carto was rated for. 9.2 watts or 8.8 watts hit the exact same on every single carto I have tried.
I think the boiling actually rejuvenated my cartos along with removing any of the excess chemicals from the factory. I had also purchased just some junk cartos on the cheap that were really pretty old and the filler was even compressed in the carto a little. The boiling actually helped those cartos out. It even helped the horrible boge!! I have been vaping on some boge's since I tried this without a bit of problem.
In other words maybe if you had more consistent cartos you wouldn't have to be jumping all over the board with your wattage!! |

| Since there is protected circuitry in this mod- making a Precise 18650 safer- I want to try it out.
Not for adjusting... just to have some protection in my mod!

| BTW, I decided to try using two extension rings (had an extra from a dead chrome one) on my black chrome Bolt with an IMR 18650 battery and my Kick. Works like a champ and significantly longer run time than with the 18490/18500 IMR. Yea it's getting a bit long but it can always double as a night stick ;-)
