does the default 510 kit serve its purpose? i see all these other types of stuff like riva , k8, 901 it's really daunting how many combinations there are out there, plus i hear of ppc which i also dont know a thing about. also what are mods? ive just ordered a couple 510 starter kits and i dunno if i made a mistake, but by just reading here i see 510 is like the safest choice for beginners like me and veterans alike. can someone briefly explain why the 510 is good even if its been around for a while? do i have to buy those mega joy ones?

You certainly can't go wrong with the 510. It is compatible with the ego and other devices alike. Most mods now are built around the 510 and its components. A pcc is a personal charger on the go. You put your 510 batteries inside to charge. Perfect for keeping your batts charged at all times. Hope this helps and good luck!

thanks a lot. that sort of clarified a lot of basic stuff. what does the ego, riva, 901 have? just better batteries or different atty designs?

Longer lasting battery. A real 510 lasts me about 35-40 minutes. An eGo 1300 lasts over a day.

i bought the manual ones, does it help with the battery life? 40 minutes even on standby or each time you puff? when on idle will it prevent the "clock" to start ticking

, sorry for the barrage of questions, i hope i can chat with someone thru msn or something lol

You mean, you DON'T have to puff ALL THE TIME?!?!?!

The way I vape, 35-40 minutes. It will last for days if not used. An 18650 big battery mod will last me a couple days on a charge.

lol i agree this whole vaping thing is another type of addiction

. ive tried those beginner e-cigs and i did notice i enjoyed vaping more than smoking once i got used to the texture of the e-cig. i just find it very confusing that each vendor has his own name for certain models, dont these things have some sort of standard they go by? like 18650 that u mentioned, do vendors call it by the same name? id be interested in that product but im pretty sure its going to be a lot more expensive given how it lasts for days

18650 is a Li Ion battery. There are some factory mades coming on the market now, but most of them are custom/home built units. This is mine:

Oh, as far as expense, you can make a Trailer Park for ~$10. My "Strontium" cost ~$55...

Do note a 'real 510' to me means Joye. Steampunk says "An eGo 1300", but note it's not an eGo but a knock-off from one of the many 2nd tier manufacturers.
