| Howdy Y'all!
I'm new around here and this is my first post. I'm new to vaping. I didn't really know much about it until somebody sat next to me at a bar in Atlanta who was vaping, so I started asking questions and here I am.
I've actually only vaped once. The guy I met let me try his and I liked it enough to want to give quitting analog cigs for good a try.
I placed my first order from China (anycig.com) 2 weeks ago to the day and I'm still waiting for it to arrive. I ordered up a Joye 510 starter kit, 2 extra atomizers, 2 batteries, 30ML e-Juice, and 30 carts. I've gotten bitten by the bug so badly that I've place 3 more orders since, tying up over $300 total, and have nothing to show for it at the moment. The anticipation is killing me. Life will be so much better as soon as the first order arrives. I'll end up with 9 e-Cigs total of about every color combo, the chargers, charging cases, and about every flavor of e-Juice. I've been reading the thread on organization and carrying cases. That's the next purchase.
Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself and let everyone know that I will be joining the club hopefully within the next week. I've wanted to quit analog cigs for so long and I'm hoping this is the right choice. Sure will be fun!
Anybody else ever ordered from anycig.com? Care to share any opinions or experiences? |

| I haven't ordered from them, but shipments from China (especially by AIRMAIL ) seem to take forever. Unless someone else has bad things to say about this company, hang in there. Sounds like you have enough stuff to keep you going.

| Welcome, Puffer, you've found a good forum and a very good resource for info.
Once you have received your vaping supplies you will have some problems, don't be discouraged. Most of us have encountered most of the potential problems and someone will have a solution for you. Ask away. |

| Received my first starter kit in the mail today. It took just over 2 weeks to get here from China. The anticipation is over.
Wow, everything is so small! LOL! Now I have some fun new gadgets to play with. I'm charging at my desk at work right now.
The charger in the kit says, "Model: Joye 510", but after reading the Authentic Joye 510 vs Fake Joye 510, I still wonder. The battery button is black which is good, but I'm skeptical about the plastic cover of the LED. I won't have anything else to compare firsthand until one of my other orders arrives from a different website. It also came with a "QC Check" card. This is part of live and learn, I guess. I'll still make it the most fun I can along the way of my learning experience. I just want off analog cigs for good.
I have a battery charging question for this model. I know the FAQ for batteries says to charge initially for 12 hours and then 4 hour recharges after that. The manual I received says to charge for 8 hours, use for 20 minutes, then charge for an additional hour for the initially charge. Which advice should I follow? |

| Charge it for a while, hour or two, vape a little (you know you want to), then charge it again until light goes off. Sometimes "first charge" doesn't top it off. And if it's a clone (like fake maybe) so what?
Keep the atty wet, don't let the cartridge dry out, and a couple of drops into the atty just to get it started.
Don't chain vape and overheat it.
Take it easy at first.
Most people run the little things like they're race cars, wide open all the time.
They're not, but they do get you down the road.
Stay in touch.
EDIT:
A little follow up on my clone comment above. The Joye (genuine) e-cig components have a known reputation. Some prefer the Joye equipment over the various clones available. Some like to use Joye attys with other batteries because of the voltage issue with Joye batteries. Some like the difference in atty resistance for the clones. Some question if Joye quality has it's ups and downs, or lot to lot variations. Probably do, just like anything else that is mass produced.
I use mods now. some even have the same thread size as a genuine Joye, and cartomizers with the same thread. They are not genuine Joye. I like them. I like them a lot But they are not genuine Joye components. Go way back in this thread and you'll see that I like the 510. Most were Joye 510s back then. But not all of them.

| Well, I put it to the test yesterday and I'm pretty impressed. I put myself in the most likely situation that I would want to smoke. By the end of the evening, I had consumed 7 beers. I used to chain smoke at that point, but this day I was vaping. The taste got better the more I vaped. The nicotine level was higher than I'm used to and I kinda caught a nicotine buzz like I remember as a teenager. I found that 3 mouthfuls is enough to get my fix. No analog cig cravings! I'm still getting used to using this thing. It will probably take a couple of days.
Rocketman - Thanks for all this info. I now understand that a clone could be a good thing and how genuine could be a bad thing. I'll drop my concern about clones, but thought I was sure of what I was buying was genuine. The jury is still out! I wonder how long it will take before I intentionally start exploring clones and mods...
Bottom line is I'm pretty darn happy with my first purchase and I firmly believe it will help me quit analog cigs forever. My plan is to reduce the nicotine level over time and enjoy sampling all the flavors in the meantime. |

| It won't be long. I'm on my 2nd kit and about to order a mod. It'll be 2 weeks since I started vaping and haven't had 1 cig since I started. I still have a full pack of cigs in my top dresser drawer I see every day and it doesn't faze me. I'd recommend getting a usb pass through to fall back on between battery charging. Get the one w/o a battery and plug it into a usb charger like the one for an iphone instead of your computer usb port. Closer to 5 volts. |

| I didnt really see a thread for this but since its joye related I figure Id ask it here. I was wondering if anybody has tried the ego? I was looking at a 510 kit with mega batteries but noticed the ego seems to be a bigger battery in an overall shorter package. Considering that I keep them in my pocket alot I thought the shorter package might be better.Any thoughts appreciated. |

IMO they will all die sooner or later so buy what is cheapest from a vendor you trust.
It doesnt sound like your going to be an over-vaper but at first you may feel a little headachy and your throat might get a bit sore this will go away in a few weeks.

I recommend just getting the Hello 016 which is 1300 mAh battery. I used the Riva version, but one battery has died. I bought 2 Hello 016's. I keep the Hello 016 in my pockets and still very compact but longer lasting. |

Funny I was just looking at that too. I prefer cartos and I saw they work with the 510 but you cant use the ego cover with it. Do you use carts or cartos with it? which atomizer if carts? |

I chain vape so I melted the plastic isolation ring between the negative and positive of the atty's and it pushed the positive center in not making contact to the battery's positive anymore. Plus I hate waiting for an atty to cool down between puffing sessions. I've don't use the cone because I can't tell how hot the atty's getting. I used the LR atty's (1.7 ohms), Riva atty's, and dse510 atty's. |

After a few weeks it seems one of two batteries is like 1/2 life now. I really think I need better battery life especially considering all day outings. Ive had to use analogs a few times due to no battery and I really dont want to do that much. Otherwise Ive not missed analogs at all since Ive started. I dont know if Im vaping more then I smoked but anyway I figured I need to make sure batteries aren't an issue. My big problem is I have like 50 of used once cartos for the npro. One lasts me a good part of a day, but Ive always been a one pack a day smoker. Ive ordered menthol PG liquid from madvapes but havn't been able to try refilling yet until later this week. Maybe an adapter for my cartos exists, but Im not sure from what I can tell on the sites. Out of curiosity How many drops do the 510 cartos hold? |

| Hey, Berger I can recommendthe Hello as well. I like the 1300 mAh batts and I do use the conimiser, runs around 2.5 ohms so its like a medium resistance atty. Vapes nice, but using cartos it isn't as slick looking.
Rocketmans Trailer park mods spoiled me for cigarette sized batteries.

| Hey all!
I just wanted to post a progress report. I've been vaping now for about a month and a half. I've been drinking alcohol and hanging out with hardcore smokers and still staying away from analogs. Quite honestly, analogs really stink and are quite a turnoff at this point. Vaping tastes and smells so much better!
I have 6 fake & 3 authenic complete ecigs. The black fakes started out fine, but seem to peter out pretty quickly. The titanium fakes hit like a champ consistenly. The authenics I can actually hear cooking up the juice and always hit like a champ. Great throat hit. The black fakes hardly TH at all anymore. I rotate 6 of them and have a pretty good feel for what I have now. My biggest pet-peeve is leakage, but nothings perfect I guess. Still not a deterrent.
I've had bad luck with my PCC and USB-battery passthru. The PCC never worked, didn't charge, and is nothing but a way to store my ecigs upright. I should probably return it but anycig doesn't return any of my emails! Crippity Crap! The USB passthru worked once then I probably overcharged it and fried the battery. Live and learn! I'm just over half way through my first bottle of 24mg Hillington ejuice. Tasty stuff, but kinda harsh. I'd like to try a mix of PG & PV to get better vape cloud and less HT with good flavor. I'm sure it will take some experimenting.
I've turned about half dozen friends onto ecigs at this point! One of my neighbors comes over and vapes with my stuff while waiting for his order to arrive. I even bought a started kit and 30ml of ejuice for a best friend of mine as a birthday present. Disclaimer - not taking applications for new best friends right now. LOL!
I've noticed that when I'm out drinking with my friends that I vape continuously. Refilling is no big deal to me, but I swap out a lot of batteries. I thought about getting an Ego, then a Riva, but my friend did a lot of research on the Hello which I believe is compatible with 510 atty's and I think that is the way I want to go so that I can carry less pieces with me. What do y'all think? I just want to buy a battery and a charger and use the rest of the stuff I have already.
As another hobby, I want to start messing around with electronics. I've been brushing up on circuits and Ohm's Law, doing math, and a lot of reading. I have some projects in mind, but once I'm seasoned, I think I'd like to make a DIY battery mod. Are rechargeable batteries much more than a capacitor? Any thoughts? Rocketman?
More bonus. When I vape in public, women who wouldn't have normally talked to me are coming up and asking questions. What a good conversation initiator! |

I was trying to get away from all the extra batteries, just cause its a pain to have to keep swapping them out on the charger. Ive decided Im going to go with the hello 013 with 2 bats and the cartos' Hachiroku has pretty much scared me off atomizers all together!
I agree about conversation starters. I was at Horrorfind last week and a bunch of people were asking me about mine when I was using it indoors. I swear I could have sold a bunch of starter kits had I had any to sell while we were waiting in line indoors at the theater! I took an extra cartomiser and let about 12 people try it and they all pretty much loved it.
If there are any suppliers out there who want to work a deal with me Im sure I could move a bunch of them next year |

LOL! I'm not trying to 'scare' anyone off atomizers; Stehle is on the same pair HE GOT WHEN HE BOUGHT HIS KIT!!! WOW! Some people have really good luck with atomizers, I don't.
I like the flavor better, but 4 days on a carto at $1.65 works for me!
Best I ever did was two weeks with a 901, and that was even on a straight passthru!
