Hey, Fiance,
I really feel y'alls pain. It so hard to be bordering on leaping into adulthood and still being reliant on parents. Believe me, I am on the parent end of that at this time and it's hard on everyone concerned.

so, as my fiance said, Rocket I'm not upset at all, far from it. i totally understand what you're saying man, this is just an alternative thing i can do not to be an ass to my fiance before i go to basic. i've been to a 6 month quasi military academy before and graduated one of the 5 officers of 200 people who attended the washington youth academy class 2010-2, and that was a completely smoke free environment. i did okay while i was there so i figure going through 9 weeks of boot camp should help me kick the habit again, though i should just vape blanks after that because i'm sure if i don't, ill just start smoking again. it's tough when all of your friends smoke =/ but i dont have friends anymore so that makes it easier now.

Congrats on graduating one out of 5 officers. Yeah, 9 wks of boot camp would kick anyone's bum. My son-in-law just returned from Afghanistan less than a year ago.

He did thank you. Safe and sound. It was a hard year and a half and hearing about those that died in his unit from road side bombs didn't help anything either.

That's the problem my fiance is having a really tough time with. i can try my best to comfort her, but really when it comes down to it, there's is nothing i can do or say except not join, but considering it's what i've wanted to do since i was a child, and at this point we kind of don't have any choice, that's not going to happen.

My daughter was miserable and depressed the entire time. There really is nothing you can do short of not joining. Maybe you won't be called to duty over there but it is very difficult on the spouses and children. Best you can do is be understanding of her feelings and comfort her as much as possible. I wish the best for you two.

I know. My husband's niece got a tat of a dolphin on her butt. I told her that when she is old, it's not gonna be in the same place and that it would be a "Shamu" instead of a dolphin.

LMAO.. Watch out Orca's riding the wave in!

@Van - You said in jest that you could vape blanks.. Well that is actually possible with vaping. You can choose to vape ejuice without nicotine or a low level.

Haha, no sweat, we're not a bunch of drama queens around here. This is a relaxed place where people get along for the most part, and have many a friendly disagreement without long term butt-hurt. Taking a few days to respond to a post will go completely unnoticed.
