I bought the local batteries with out really looking at them, because my wife and I where in a hurry. No surprise there..
It is not what I thought after a closer examination. Is any one familiar with a LR18650, here are the spec's I could find.
LR 1850AH-2200mAh(at .2cA out) (cc/cv) I think it's a Tianjin Lishen but not labled.
The only thing printed on it was-( LS.LR1865AH / Y0O188.50000634 )
Am I returning these are they OK..?????????

I believe those are 18650 Li-ion cells used for memory backup, you find them in a lot of computer supply stores. They have the voltage required but the (at .2cA out) means they are rated for 0.2 times the rating output in amps. I don't think Lishen has a high current cell. Just not sure. Can you contact the seller (local ?) and see if they are for camera packs, e books, etc or for memory backup.
They are probably not "protected" cells. MichaelMurder bought a cell that didn't seem to be able to power an e-cig atty, PM him and see if he got the same one you did.

(call and see what the return policy is)

Ok even more non-info.
The .2cA is the rating method to obtain the 2200mah.
They discharge it at a .2C rate (.2 times the 2200) and
calculate the capacity. 1850mah is the minimum necessary to meet the 2200mah spec.
(gotta make at least 1850 or they can't label it 2200).

It seems the Lishen cell does have a max discharge current of 2C (2 times 2200mah) or a max discharge current of 4.4 amps. That seems to be in line with most others.

But, it is still probably not a protected cell.
Non protected cells I have run across are 65 to 66mm long. If over 66mm long, then they probably have a protection circuit board that accounts for the extra length.

I would check with seller, probably knows what he has sold the cells for and what his return criteria would be.

And touch base with MandM.

Sorry but so many different sources for these batteries.

I here ya, at least I have more on the way...
Talked to seller not protected, I just had a feeling when I was looking at the batteries last night that there was something different and kinda knew but had to be sure..It's always something with me never goes right..

Don't let it get you down man. Batteries are a bit tricky if you don't know enough about 'em. Like Rocket said i walked into an issue with a battery yesterday. /sigh still trying to find one that will work

King,
if these have a high enough current capability to fire off an atty and you can't get your money back (best), You can charge these and use them to a degree in a mod.
The Big Problem is super overvaping and getting the cell hot, don't do that.

Or vaping until the cell voltage drops below 2.5 volt, loaded, about 3.0 unloaded.
There will be next to nothing in vapor at that voltage, and if you kept trying, you could get the cell voltage way low, and try and draw current from it, NOT A GOOD THING.
A little LED can run these down, they can self discharge, not a big problem,

But draw current from a low battery, and you risk chemical runaway.
Can you use one to vape on? IF you never try to vape the battery dry. Think you can do that? If it slows down, stop vaping, charge it. Not recommended, but can be done.
Best approach, get your money back and get protected cells. Probably paid too much anyway.

Otherwise, can you make it all the way to the Marina from the balcony window with a 18650?

Take another look at Janty. got to their site and read about the Ego / tornado Then look for posts on EF by Cisco about the ego battery. The batts we've been using are laser / camera batts and Janty's research dept has rethought the batt aspect from the ground up. It wont be long till we start seeing these new super cells available for our specific applications. I've suspended all mod manufacture till then. Besides since my ego arrived I haven't needed anything else 3 wks and still getting 6-8 hrs per charge with no fade. till now the only thing close was an 18650 Chuck style mod. This Ego is amazing. The last hit is as good as the first and its at least six hrs later. As another reviewer said "It's all about the battery."

KingToker,
I would like to offer my condolences for your loss. I could not imagine that happening to me. I hope you know that you have friends here on the forum
(much better than myspace friends).

I would like to contribute something I just received from you, in the name of the VapeAtron forum to use toward flowers or a nice card.

Please know that even though we haven't met you or your wife we share in your sadness.

The best,

Your Friend,

Rocket

I don't know when KingToker will be back on.
But if anyone would like to send a comment PM it to me (I'll try to keep enough room in my folder) and I'll include it in a card I am mailing in the morning.

Rocket

OK, PM folder has room
