| Hey everybody! Been reading through some pages here and I've noticed 2 things. 1: Ya'll know your stuff. E-cig pros. And 2: Not much news on clove flavors and options.
First off, I don't know jack about the majority of this. I know the basics, and I'm learning more every time I read a new page.
I'm looking to give this a shot because, honestly, I'm not going to quit. Thing is, I don't smoke that much, only when I drink and maybe one a night. My "habit" costs a whopping $10 a week. So If I'm going to keep this up, I might as well find a "healthier" way to do it, and hopefully regain some cardiovascular health back in the process.
My $10 a week will get me, usually, 2 packs of Djarium Black clove "cigars" (although they're still the same thing as they were before the ban). Throw in an extra dollar or two for a couple Black & Mild's. I like the flavored stuff because it accents my whiskey nicely (I sip Jack Daniels). I quit smoking Camel lights about 3 years ago.
So my questions are this:
Am I being misled about the "healthier" thing (especially the cardio)?
What would you all suggest for a super low-cost entry method given I only sped $10 a week now.
And has anybody found a good clove flavor that don't taste like cardboard?
Thanks in advance for your help! |

1. The aspect of a healthier lifestyle is very real, but comes with stipulations. The lower the amount of nicotine you use, the more likely I would assume your health to improve in shorter time.
2. A super low-cost entry method would not include an e-cig in particular, in my opinion. I would recommend the 18650 NoEgo from GA Tech ( Jazz cartopipe the first Cartomizer Pipe). The batteries are sold separately, but they last a long time, and the batteries are ~$6 each as opposed to the proprietary batteries for e-cigs and eGo-style which generally run around $17 each. On top of that, should you have any issues, GA Tech is well known for their excellent customer service.
3. I'm not a fan of clove per se, but the cleanest and best-flavored clove flavor that I have tried thus far is from Ozark Fresh ( Ozark Fresh Product Page). I would recommend the juice with 8mg/ml of nicotine to start with. They only come in 6ml bottles, but they're only $4 per bottle, so picking up a couple should suffice and be fairly cost-effective.
If you would like to read more into the world of vaping I'd recommend reading this: Crash Course into Vaping.
Enjoy, and welcome!

| After looking at what I said and doing a little math, I believe even a starter kit will be, at least, equilavlent to what I'm spending based on frequency of use, if not a bit less. I'm not above a little investment to get what I need to get started. I'll check thosr links out and see what I can find. In the meantime, are the 501(?) Models as universal per se as they seem? |

| Dhileas - Thanks so much for all the info. I love the looks and styling of the GA stuff, especially the Carto-pipe whereas I'm a pipe smoker as well. The NoEgo you mentioned is something I will definitely keep in mind, given the battery style and it's 510 compatibility.
The healthier part I'm looking for, you're dead on about since your reminded me of actually why I started smoking again, and what I chose. The flavors. The nic got me hooked again, but I never bought another pack of Camels. I'd get used to making a Jack & Coke with a few moonshine cherries and complement that with a pipe of CAO Cherrybomb tobacco. Or smoking a Black & Mild Wine wood tip when I had some Muscadine wine out on the lake. So I think a low nic level to get me "off" of it to start, then flavor carts with no nic to do what I enjoy the most from smoking when I vape... enjoy the flavors.
Ooohhh... One more question I just thought of. Mixing juices to get a desired flavor or nic level? Like, say... Virginia Tobacco with a low nic level mixed with Vanilla with a 0 nic level to get a flavor close to Captain Black with roughly 5mg/mL nic? Is that possible and/or safe? |

| Well, here it goes... Going to order the Joye 510 starter from goodejuice, pick up a few extra carts and some juice while I'm at it. Any suggestions before I jump off the deep end? |

| Hello and welcome Blueneostang! I can't say much for suggestions on the Joye kit, I still have my Lecig starter, and that's my only experience with equipment. I can say grabbing juice right away is preferable, I really wish I had. I started vaping straight from a pack and a half a day habit, and still didn't use alot of juice, right off the bat, so with the frequency of your tendencies, especially if your after flavor more than nic, your first round of juice will probably stretch pretty far for you, don't hesitate to try several flavors if it's in the budget.

A 510 starter kit isn't awful, but to get the desired effect, you may want to look at larger power sources, and use cartomizers instead of cartridges. Carts can be messy, tedious, and downright annoying to work with. Cartomizers combine a cartridge and an atomizer together, nixing half of the trouble. Dripping isn't half bad, but therein you would want to pick up some drip tips (although you'd want drip tips for a cartomizer, too). If you really want to try the basic 510 setup, I'd recommend this deal at MadVapes, as it is currently on sale: 510 Manual Battery Carto Kit. This would be a decent drip tip to pick up for it since the cartomizer kit doesn't appear to come with one: Black Shorty Delrin Dripper Tip 510/901. Quote:

Is that possible and/or safe? | Mixing flavors is perfectly safe, as long as they aren't expired. PG tends to expire after a year's time of being opened. It being mixed with nicotine and flavorings may increase its shelf life by a few months, but I would recommend using what you buy, or at least donating what you don't like.
