Hi all, (great site BTW) I have been lurking around here for awhile, and just thought I would share this with you as I haven't seen anyone else doing it this way.
Cheers, Dogs.

I am new to the cartos too... I thought they came pre-filled and took a puff, they were empty
I had a quick look on you tube and the usual places, but everyone was using needles, droppers and hooks, I got impatient as I didn't have any of those, and just improvised.
It is a very quick simple and clean(ish) method to refill and gives the filler material a good soaking.
I just give it a short sharp blow on the threaded end before screwing it back on, as this clears the thread and the hole, incase there is a lingering droplet ready to drip into the batty.
They have won me over, I have about 8 901, 2 510 and heaps of other various cigs with pccs, adapters, plugs and re-chargers etc.
But these are quick, simple and imo beats dripping or topping off a regular cart every couple of minutes.

Wow Dogs, thank you for the great vid and refill trick! This is really a great idea. I have to admit I didn't think it would be as easy as you make it look and was sure I would never be able to do it that easily. I gave it a try and was amazed! I didn't have any problems and no mess and for me that is saying alot. I take my end caps and the silicone ring out and leave them out of all my cartos because I use a 901 flat tip as a mouth piece, but even without the end cap it still worked. I just took off the 901 tip and pushed the open end down in the juice in the condom and then sat it upright on the battery end and let it sit for a couple minutes. When I took off the condom there was no mess, no excess juice, nothing had run out the battery end. This is fantastic!
Way to go Dogs!! Good job on the trick and the vid!!

Edit: Witchway- you can still fill from the thread end, I do it that way because when you pull the condom off, it sucks any excess juice back down away from the suckhole. Just be sure to dry the thread and give a bit of a blow from the thread-end as sometimes a droplet of juice can leak.
I just said it wasn't recommended in the vid so I wouldn't get flamed if someone stuffed their battery.

I was telling my OM about your video ~ sent him the link and he said he'd been thinking about that himself and thought it'd be a better, easier way! Glad ya posted it. Thanks!

This one is not for everyone, but I like it! YouTube - Carto Cap Filler Method (CCFM2)
edit:disabled vid cos it is wrong. I will make a new simpler one, with much less juice.

ROFL nice ending Dogs :P Ok how long does that baby last? I never thought about leaving the filler in the 901 cart for extra juice. What kind of filler are you using? Do you get juice on your lip at all through the breather hole? I know lots of questions
I cleaned out 40 cartos last night, am I going to have fun playing with refilling this weekend!!! Gotta watch it again though before I do to make sure I get it right LOL.
Rocket, have you seen this, can it be adapted to the 801 soft tip cart?

That breather hole on mine is massive for the demo, and I dont get any on my lip at all surprisingly.
I tied jamming the 801 on it, but it wouldnt fit.
I am just using standard filler, but after I loose a carto, I might just pull the filler out and stick it on top.
I put too much in it in the vid, I think 2ml is pushing it there are still some liquid in mouth issues with this.(but not through the breather), it works well just refilling with 1 full cap.
I just need to put some steel wool or non-absorbing material near the bottom of the air chamber still working on that.
Hey how long do these things normally last? I thought they only lasted a few refills, I must have refilled my main 3 at least 25-30 times?

I've only lost 3 cartos so far and those were due to burning them on a 5volt pass through. Once they get burned the taste doesn't go away. Other than that I have a couple I've refilled at least 20 times each. I just wash them out after a few days and start over and they are holding up. I didn't expect them to last so long.
I had purchased a whole bunch of sampler packs so ended up with like 40 cartos and 15 blanks on their way. Now that I have them all clean, my plan is to keep 4 in rotation and use them until they die then replace them with clean ones. At this rate I might not need new cartos for 6 months or more.
I plan on playing with the refilling methods this weekend. Right now I'm using the first method since it's quick and mess free.
Next time you make a vid you need to talk because I'm dying to hear the accent And yes I have a heavy Texas twang accent, but there will be no videos from me LOL.

If one lasts a week, that's 28.5 cents per day, with juice, that's about 38 cents, or about 1 cig (at Massachusetts prices...)

I dunno, I have refilled my main 3 about 50 times each (test subjects) and they still seem ok, but I was thinking of just chucking them in a bottle of hot water and shaking them up
Or maybe Force:Push some cheap vodka through them using this method then water to rinse.
I am still waiting for one to die so I can open it and see how dirty/clean they are.

The dry time after a cartomizer cleaning varies with procedures, but no matter how I dry them I like to see a dry white fluffy filler before I refill.
I have only done this 8 or 10 times, but the rotation method; giving those I just refilled at least 20 minutes or more absorption time before they are used yielded the best results. They are reacting and vaping like brand new and in some cases better.
Now... my latest vaping love is for the GreenCig cartomizers that came from LeCig.
I was told and experienced very little "throat hit" with the stock liquids (15mg) that they come filled with, but after using your first refilling technique CCFM (thread end variation) with my own 21mg custom juice... WOW!
This is truly the very best vaping experience I've had in 10 months!
( The hard part may be cleaning the filler on those GreenCig cartos or at least accessing it from the videos I have watched.)
They are a bit more expensive, but refilled with your favorite juice... it may be a vaping experience that by my own personal experiences you won't want to miss!
Thanks!

What is different with the LeCig/Greencig cartos? I might have to order some and try them?
Are they better than the standard KR808-1?
I cleaned a few out last night by pulling out the O-ring and putting it on a syringe (no needle) then shoved the syringe with O-ring in the cart and sucked-push vodka and hot water through them using quite a bit of force, (hoping to stuff one up) left to dry overnight and filled them this morning, and are vaping really well.

WAIT!....did I just say vapor? I meant... luxurious clouds of vapor!!!
Effortless vaping in my opinion and the only thing missing with it's stock juice was a good refilling thanks to your CCFM! (I also found the less pressure I used; the better it vaped later when cleaning.)

Thanks Stehle for the cleaning tips too btw.
Less pressure = better vape? I will keep that in mind and mention it in the notes.
You mean when filling pushing slowly helped? I wondered about this, so I filled a few really quickly then tried to soak more in, I managed to make a little more soak in over time, but it seemed negligible so I guessed it mightn't really matter, but I did notice after using the cappuccino steamer attachment on my coffee machine to clean a few ( ) that the filler was getting squashed down and exposing the heating element and now they are not um, 'ideal' , so I wonder if pushing fast might be doing the same thing- bunching up the filler.
Thanks Rocketman for the link, "Save the Fluvals!" lol.
So the Greencigs are different and it seems... better?, I checked out LeCig's site where he compares them D1 vs D2 and the thread is longer on the D2/Greencig is there anyway to make them fit (grinder), or will they work one way and not the other. ie: will the D2 cart work on a D1 batt but the D1 cart wont go on the D2 batt?
.... Oh nevermind... writing that was probably harder than just ordering a D2 battery, so answering will just be a bigger waste. I will just get a battery with my order.
Thanks.

What I meant was during the cleaning of the D1 catromizers is that I try not disturb the filler. When I fill I don't think the little holes on either end would let the liquid in so fast as to cause pressure or be detrimental to the filler. I have done both fast and slow and noticed no difference. Your CCFM works either way and works great! Quote:

I have and use 510 Mega batteries with an adapter for D1 cartomizers. I use it also for the GreenCig cartomizers, so as far as I know the connection is the same. I don't have any kr8 batteries to compare... guess I should cuz I hear they're pretty good. I have 510 batts all over the place, so it would make sense at least for me to a get a couple more adapters.
With the GreenCig cartomizer you have to experience them for yourself and see. They are more expensive, but it may be worth a look at only about .50 cent (US$) more. Even if they didn't vape better (my opinion of course), they would be worth it just holding more nic liquid. Quote:

I had the filler mat because of that pressure too. I used one of those steam cleaners which didn't work going in the open mouth end, it made it much harder to vape later, but shooting a stream through the threaded end yielded better results. I normally now just put them under a gentle stream of warm water or drop them in a pot of water I just pulled off the boil. I suppose any way is great cleaning them as long as you don't mess with the filler to much.
The GreenCig's are a bit different and will look forward to your thoughts Dogsbody on a good way to clean them too!
Let me know what you think of them when they arrive.
