When you first heard about electronic cigarettes, what did you think?

Was it intriguing?
If you are here, then you must have been curious...

My first impressions...

I first ran across someone with an ecig at a store. He wasn't selling them, just vaping away while waiting in line. He was very informative when I asked about it. He pointed me toward the forums, and a few suppliers that he used. I was lucky to find someone knowledgeable about ecigs, instead of like so many others that discovered ecigs at the mall, and got ripped off or just disappointed with the product they started with.

After many, many hours of research, I finally purchased a kit and have been vaping ever since.

So what's your story?

My brother got a 510 and called me to tell me how great it was. Being stuck where we are for the winter, and not allowing smoking inside our truck or coach, I decided to give it a shot so I wouldn't have to go outdoors at -10º. So, I did a little research and knew right away that I wanted a 2 piece and not a 3 piece. If I would have researched just one more day, I would have found Mike and not wasted as much money as I did. But being the "I want it NOW!" kind of person that I am, I jumped on what seemed to be a good choice. It was an OK choice - and I now recommend Mike's PigCig kits to ANYONE who asks me about what I'm doing when they see me vaping.
We took our car salesman to lunch today - and he wanted the info for one of the fellas he works with. Swore he was going in after lunch and order it right away - they always say that. We'll see.

I want to TRY that!!!

I heard about it on one of those Pulp shows that comes on after the news. It was just a brief thing about it. That was sometime in 2009, and I got my first one a few months later...on a FREE TRIAL (GRR)

Research is key. If more people joined the forums or at least read up on the matter, the free trials with a credit card monthly payment for carts wouldn't exist.

I was listening to a comedy podcast and the host was talking about e-cigs and how he wanted a manufacturer to send him a free one just so he could smoke at the bars.

Once I finally decided to make the switch myself from analog to e-cigs I looked online at reviews for the best brands at the best prices. This was only a couple months ago, but already I look back and think those lists had some of the priciest and crappy brands on it. I went with V2cigs, and it's not a bad product, but I know now that I could have gotten something better and cheaper. Oh well. at least I didn't spend $100 on some mall kiosk cig like most people do when they start. I know now what to get and I can now save up for the good stuff. I really want to get an eGo tank system and a Silver Bullet in the future. I had no idea about the big battery mods when I was looking into this stuff, or the ability to vape at different voltages.

The first I heard about different flavor e-liquids is from another comedy podcast I'm a regular listener of. They had Value Vapor as a sponsor. I just assumed that you can get tobacco and menthol flavors with your e-cig. I went to that site and saw the huge selection that James had and ordered a couple. Now I'm always looking for a new flavor to vape and I order them from all kinds of sites.

And now I'm obsessed with watching reviews on you tube and VapeTV and looking at all the accessories I can buy.

Actually, they were very nice about it. Of course, they tried to get me to stay, but when they asked why I wanted to end my 'subscription' (after the Free e cig and the firwst delivery) I said, "I WANT NICOTINE!!!!!" which they didn't offer. So it was cancelled on the spot....

after the initial $70 for a DSE 084 and 20 cartridges...

The alex jones show back in 08-09 ... I said I'm not getting screwed by another "e" toy (LOL)

Finally I broke down in July and started the 22nd. I had 13 smokes in two days and haven't had one since.

I started out with this piece of crap Smoke 51 trio that my Uncle suggested to me. He picked one up from a flea market for himself. So I gave it a try. The battery sucked, the vapor(what vapor) was just lacking, and the taste was horrible. I stumbled across Vapeatron and started reading through the posts and came across Mike from Lecig. So I gave them a try with all the great reviews and posts that he has received. I also liked that he participates in the forum. So I ordered the PigCig and have not looked back.

Free trial radio ads for Smoke Assassin. After reading the fine print I said no. That was about two years prior to my entry into PVs. I started out with the deluxe Volcano V-kit and it worked well for what it was worth. I wasn't entirely impressed, but it tasted good. I bought it because a friend of mine had bought the Blu kit, and I wanted one too, without having the same shit he had. I then went to the basic 510 kit, then I took a hiatus because the cleaning and mess of cartridges was awful. Came back about eight months later, and picked up an eGo kit. Rocked that until it broke (about a month later). Then I got a VMU and later the Jazz. Been happy as a clam ever since.

Some talk radio is good...some of it is too far left and some is too far right....

But there are a few good radio shows, they're just hard to find

No XM here. I can't make myself pay for radio!

I can't take listening to the DUMB-ASS DJs around here and the ads. It's worth the $12 a month to just hear music, talk or whatever.

They have some ditz named "Madison", and last summer when I was out working on one of the cars I heard her say, "That song reminds me of Chicago. I had SOOO much sex!"

I sent them an email. WTF do I care about how much sex some bimbo had?!?!?! I told them if I wanted to hear dumb crap, I's skip the $12 and listen to the idiots around here.

She didn't say much other than announce the songs after that...

I bought an e-cig after researching smoking cessation methods. I started out with a KR808 which was fine, but I got tired of charging batteries. I use an eGo now.

As for talk radio: The only show I will listen to is Walton and Johnson.

Nah, it was on the local radio channels. It was on a few of them actually. The one I heard it on the most was a talk radio channel that ended up changing their format.

I didn't go ahead and buy one until Rush Limbaugh said he was vaping with a Volcano eCig. He said it was now okay to vape so I got the entry level set-up. Wadda piece of underpowered crap! I think it's a Lectra 88 based deal. One satisfying hit in 10 attempts.

Oh, shoot. Another Limbight!

Hey, he was talking about it again the other day, last Friday? I meant to mention it. He got on an elevator and started vaping, and some Smoking Nazi gave him crap about smoking, and he said, "I'm not". Every one else on the elevator wanted to know what it was, and the Smoking Nazi got off in a huff.

Or, was that a puff...?

Radio has been a hobby for a long time (I have lotsa radios of all ages and types). I listen to a lot of talk radio while I'm doing other stuff or driving. I like Rush but I see him for what he is. Same with all the others. Every once in a while I get saturated with talking points and stupid policy ideas and have to shut it all off for a while and play Little Feat at extreme volume. Then I tune in NPR for day or so and everything is cool again.

Feats Don't Fail Me Now. I bought it when I was 16. I had such an early copy the label was wrong! Four songs didn't come out until the NEXT record!

I brought it home, put it on, listened to 3-4 songs and said, "WTF IS this?!?!". Put it away and didn't touch it for months, put it on and said "WTF IS this?!?!" Put it away for 2 more months, went out with some friends, took some little purple pill, came home, put it on and said "WOW!!! What IS THIS??!?!" Was my top record for YEARS!
