Ok, y'all, lend some advice here please.
Family member, new here at VTron, too shy to post (c'mon outa the woodwork girl).

She filled a honker from MV ... Right away its got what she's describing as burnt taste even though it's full. She's been vaping for a year, and even mixing her own juices, so not a novice. But, and I'm surprised by this, she doesn't have a volt meter, so let's not advise her to test it.
Anyone have any suggestions why this is happening?

Yes what berger said, also know that the center tube is a denser material than the filler around it and needs more time to get fully saturated. If that honker has been burned, that taste may or may not go away, depends how burnt it is

Hey Teri. I haven't had that happen on a honker yet but have had it happen on the reg DCs. Usually happens when I fill then turn right around and try to vape it without letting it sit a minute.... and no, once I did that, couldn't get the burnt taste to go away. Like Berger mentioned, I drip a few drops down the air hole now and blow it through. Tell the family member don't be shy... I ask all sorts of crazy stuff

She's been filling on it all day. It's overfilled and dripped out the bottom. She knows to let them sit and soak.
TNTree! Get your butt in here!

I wonder if running hot water through it for about 10 minutes, then giving it a few days to dry would bring it back? I haven't burnt one (yet) but I have washed one out and gotten an extra two weeks out of one that had already given me three weeks.

Hmmm... Guess it's toast.
Tek- could it have been a bad coil on one side? If we Test it, we'll know for sure. But if she trashes it, we'll never know.
Tree, hang on to it and bring it on Christmas. We'll test it just for the hell of it

Never mind.... Send it out for autopsy.

I thought it had something to do with suspended solids or sugars present in some eliquids and of course too much heat/voltage.

TNTree! Get your butt in here!
Dripping out the bottom is defiantly not a sign it is full or properly filled. Some just won't wick at all to the bottom if the top is too full, especially if it burns. Carto condom or syringe method work great if ya don't wanna wait.
