That's the one that Renee was saying was specially built by Smoktech to handle DCCs without killing the batt.
I'm wondering what modification has been made?
Any guesses, Tek?

Silver Bullet: Nearly indestructible, reliable, beautiful, standard-setting original design that has a long history in the e-cig world. Available from altsmoke.com for about $85:

RoughStackV2: "User-replaceable button", available at madvapes.com for $40.

You can't bludgeon intruders with a bb, tek.

The RoughStack has a better button than the Silver Bullet, or the Bolt? Cuz the button on my original SB has been in daily use (4 different owners) for over 2 years, and it's still going strong*.

*At least it was the last time I saw it, before it was relocated to TN, which totally violates our joint-custody agreement.

You got it right Tek,hated my ver.1 RS due to that switch. If I wouldn't need to buy new batteries I'd give the Bolt a try.

IT FITS a 14500, and with a slight mod, 18650 or 2 cr123s

What kind of magic to get another 16-17mm of length on the Bolt?

Which has the better switch? The RS's CK although pricey has proven to be a dud, feel and reliability. I luv my eBay horns, although I see some that look identical for 69¢ I stick with the same vendor. The feel and proven reliability makes them a winner, Gotta have that 'click/indent' and I usually rest my mod on my thumb, actually holdng it. That's what I hated about my foray into touch switches, I want tactile feed back and I don't want to take my finger off the switch with every vape.

In busardo's Bolt vid he said the button has a 'mushy feel', no click, that don't sound like the horns I use, just the opposite, Seems Smok just probably grabbed some 15¢ look-a-like (actually it looks the BB/Phideous button).

The most troubling aspect is the fresh charged voltage of only 4.08V when in the PV. Not good.

Here's some voltages of a fresh charged 18650 cell in one of my quicky mods.

Top naked cell, bottom thru the mod.

Look at these pics, not a perfect example but close.

Two fresh 14500s paralleled firing a 1.6Ω DC.

Now here is a slightly run down 18350 that read 4.05V at the connector.

Oh well, I guess I got off track. But it seems that Smok can't even make a simple basic tube mod and have it perform decently.

Well the CCV one does not appear to have a normal horn switch.

Pbusardo in his review called the button mushy with no click. Horns are not mushy and have a nice click/indent. He also showed a voltage of 4.08V with no atty on a fresh charge.

Here's a real horn.

Note the voltage, naked cell and then through the mod. Part of it may due to the thread like wires that Smok probably uses. Is that important? I think so. Remember high performance vaping is only about the first .5V of your cell.

The MV model appears to use a regular horn. Rounder sides, fuller more protruding actual button, with a flat spot in the center.

If I was gonna roll the dice on a Smok product (which I would never do) I think I'd opt for the one from MV. Can't tell for sure, but it may be a better performer with a better feeling button.

Just a guess at this point though.

they are manufactured by smoktech. i would assume that anyone who caries them would have the same product.
why would smoktech use a different switch for different vendors?
or does smoktech only send out the tube without the switch?
possible, but seems unlikely

the photos do appear to look somewhat different with regard to the switch, but the angle of the photo could produce different reflections off of it.
I just dont see smoktech, or whoever is selling them to the vendors, sending them out switchless.
shouldnt jump straight to the switch... could be the charger that Pbusardo is using
sorry for making two posts..
shoulda edited the first one to include the rest

Edit:
upon reexamination it does look like the switches are different. the madvapes one has a small flatterlooking indent while the ccv one does not.
On the other hand, the switch does look very similar to the switch on the bb... which is a great switch.
thehouseofvapor has them for 39.99, and it appears to have the same switch as the one from madvapes
