Hello,
I am new to all of this.
I have tried the disposable Blu Cig from my local Meijer pharmacy section and quite enjoyed it.
After reading up a little and trying to make sense of all these products and new terminology, I am a little lost to say the least.
I have heard/read alot of good things about LeCig. I am leaning towards purchasing the PigCig.

My reasoning is:
Long battery life
Two batteries (so my wife and I can both use em)
And, the great reviews I have read

Do you guys think this is wise for a beginner?
Are there any better alternative?

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks
Jon

Hey Jon,
Le Cig has excellent customer service so they are one of several good supplier choices who are regulars here ...in general I like 510 compatible stuff as thats the most common thread pattern for various cartomisers and parts..etc..but there are also adapters available for the 808 stuff too..
Bigger batteries is always better..if you start smaller you'll be moving up anyway in a short time like we all did.
The thing is you really need two batteries per person..if each of you is using one battery and it dies, what are you going to do then? waiting on a charger is not really an option...or worse yet one malfunctions now what do you do?..cant wait several days for one in the mail.. I would look at the Boss or the epower or no ego with its replaceable batteries if I was starting out today as a cost effective alternative
since your new I suggest looking at this Crash Course into Vaping
oh..and welcome to Vapeatron...

Buy either the pigcig 900 or just dive in and get 2BOSS kits. You're going to end up there anyway. Call Mike at LeCig and talk to him. He will NOT steer you wrong.

Just my humble opinion.

Hi jonny,welcome to vapeatron.
Pigcig is a good starting place,Mike our LeCig hero will help anyway he can and his customer service can't be beat.
Your success with vaping will depend on many things one is information, there are a lot of people here with experience and answers to you your questions. Good equipment is another. The BLU has had some reliability issues and they aren't very convenient due to small batteries and cartridge capacity, you'll be messing with them constantly charging "batts" and filling "carts". Get samplers of juice in smaller bottles so you can find flavors you like.
Your personal smoking habits will determine how you adjust and transition. Remember that nothing tastes like burning tobacco, there is more to vaping than lighting up a smoke so prepare to be prepared with equipment, batteries and juice, good luckto you and your wife.

I will look into the boss kit for sure. I was just a little hesitant on it because there were no reviews on it. Is the boss kit best with the dual coil cartomizers?
If I were to order two of the boss kits, what else should I get to be set for at least a couple weeks?
How long will a cartomizer last?

Sorry for all the questions. I m sure they have all been asked before....

Yea know, its funny, with just passing the year mark in vaping, Jon's post made me think back to what it was like in the beginning when I first made my way here full of questions about it...I think sometimes we forget how daunting it was just starting out with a bunch of different questions like:
Why is there a difference between carts and cartos? why are there attys if cartos do the same thing? If I can refill cartomisers why do they say they are disposable? How big a battery do I really need? what exactly is a mah? why the heck do ohms matter? Why are Lion batteries dangerous if my cell phone and computer have them? What ejuice will taste exactly like my brand XXX menthol super duper lights 100's? whats all this 510, 808, 901, 306 numbers all about? Why in the world are there so many freaking models of ecigs out there? what the heck is a PV? Why are there so many different types of cartos? Why do I need so many batteries..Im only using one at a time?...ahh the good old days..

hey that's what were here for...in between the jokes that is.. the boss (or noego or epower) are good with the dual coils..some people have been able to use dual coils on regular egos as well but the amp draw is pretty steep for these..hence the reason they work so well. Anything less then 900mah battery size for these is just really too small and short lived for them. As far as set for a couple weeks they should last longer then that..its the cartos and juice that are the consumables.. you will need a minimum total of 4 batteries to go with them...not sure what mike included with that kit? Cartos for 2 I would start with a minimum of 10 -15...their life span will depend on two things..one if your juice selection clogs them or not and two keeping them wet...if you allow a carto to run dry or near dry it will impart a burnt taste to it that will basically ruin it or worse burn it out...how much did you smoke and what type (i.e. lights etc.) will help us judge your rough rate of use and nic content...

I use to be a Marlboro light smoker. Due to the loss of a job, I switched to the terrible "little cigars". Now, I am working again, but I have stuck with those terrible cheap cigarettes. Now, I just want to get away from them. I am a half a pack to a a pack a day smoker. Same with my wife.

Again, thanks so much for the help..

Feel free to ask as many questions as you like. We don't mind. I would get a couple of extra batteries and a few extra boxes of cartomizers. As far as how long cartomizers last.......That varies.
Oh yeah! Don't forget to order some juice.

Jonny, be prepared for the size of the pigcig or Boss if you go that way. Most people want to start on something the size of a cigarrette but that is a source of constant frustration for most folks. The BIG systems are big compared to a cigarette but you get used to the size and especially the convenience of the large battery and juice supply.
The big batt models are not much more expensive and with cartos(Cartomisers) you could go out for the day and only carry one unit either one of the above systems will last 6-12 hours if you have a spare carto.
All the numbers on these things relate to the threads on the battery(Batt) to Atomiser(atty) connection. When you buy just make sure your atties and batts are of the same type. For instance the pigcig batteries are 901 threads and the cartos for the BOSS are 510 threads they won't work together out of the boxsort of like trying to use a metric nut on a standard SAE bolt. As Berger said there are mechanical adapters available that you put between two dissimilar parts so you can tie them together but it is easier to just get the matching parts when you order.
Your asking the right questions,Jonny. Much better to go to the store with some idea of what you're looking for than to buy a bunch of stuff and find it doesn't work when you get it home.

Half a pack is not too bad. If I were you I would figure about 3ml/day of 18 mg/ml juice per day as a good staring point to judge use per person. I would get at least 40ml total to start of a few flavors in case you dont like one. Thats the hardest part finding flavors you like. If using dual coils which are very good BTW..you should drip top them off a couple times a day..like 10 drops or so assuming they were full before starting...just pop the silicone caps and slowly drip in along the sides not letting it into the airhole in the middle and allow it to absorb in...The first time when new will take a while.drip, sit, drip sit,..until you get about 40 to 50 or more drops in there at least...if it gurgles..take it off and blow hard on the top out the bottom into a nakpin and dry the bottom and the top of the battery section and reinstall...

Hello and welcome to the world of vaping. I started in a similar manor and was overwhelmed by all the model numbers, terminology, and opinions that are out there. Lecig is a great place to start and everyone one here is very helpful. In between the random derailing of threads there is a vast collection of good information here.

You'll be glad you put down the smokes and started vaping.

Welcome to VapeAtron Jonny.

A note about e-liquid (juice), you might find, as many of us has, that after a while of using one flavor that the taste will "dull". Switch up your flavors often to keep from getting used to just one.

For starting out, you may want to get a few small bottles of different flavors to find your favorite.

Mike is often available on the weekend, yes. (To the question posted awhile back in the thread)
The BOSS is 510 threads and comes with 2 14650 batteries, charger, button cover, 2 atomizers ( which I don't use), and 5 cartridges ( which I also don't use ). I use the dual coil xxl cartomizers, and they hold about 2-2.5 ml of juice and last me the day. I top them off before I go to bed at night so when I grab that first cup of coffee in the morning, Theres a full fresh pv sitting there waiting for me.

I was about pack a day smoker for 44 years. Mostly Marlboro or Winston, but discovered some wonderful native American smokes about 5 years ago. DH was doing those little cigar things ( those babies are POTENT) before he quit, which tells me you probably won't be satisfied at first with less than 24mg strength. Although when you're a new vaper, it seems really strong until you figure out how to take a drag. It's not the same as dragging on regular cigarettes. Took me 3 days to figure it out and not go into coughing fits.

And BTW, welcome to the crazy house! ( No, wait that's a great place in garden city, Kansas) anyway, welcome!

The Boss kit look like a good unit. It has replaceable batteries, so when a battery gives up, you can buy another battery. With the eGo, Riva, etc the battery is sealed into the housing and when it quits, you buy a whole new unit

If you are a heavy vaper it would behoove you to buy some spare batteries, too. I "hypervape" and use 18650 batteries and they get me through a couple days. The 14650 with the Boss should be good for a whole day of vaping, but I'd keep one on the charger anyway, just to be sure. When the battery runs down, I reach for the ciggies! Not what I want to do...

And dittos on Mike. We have really good suppliers here and Mike is the Poster Boy of the group! He is knowledgeable and can give you good info.

Good luck, and welcome.

Welcome to the asylum Jon. Glad to have ya and congrats on quitting smoking. Lots of excellent advice here that I second..... on cartos... if you get an epower/boss model, I highly recommend the Dual Coils and not the clear plastic ones.... only the metal ones. Either XL or XXL ones are good and Mike has both. If you decide to order from Lecig, he does have a coupon code this month but can't remember what it is. Let me know if you want to order and I will find the code for ya.

I don't think you're going to beat that. Two batteries, two atomizers, a charger and a housing for $45. The No Ego is $35 for the unit alone, no batteries, charger or carts. It looks like a good starter kit to me. If I didn't have so damn much stuff already I'd buy one!

An eGo can be had for less, but again when the battery goes you buy a new "battery" (in the housing) for $19. If one of those batteries goes they're ~$7.

If you are talking about the epower/boss/noego model, which are all by smoketech, yes. Lecig sells as the boss and has free shipping. Stormy's Vapor Cellar also sells as E-Power. Smoketek sells as E-Power. Liberty-Flights sells as E-Power. And Romaniac sells as noego but he has only one shipping method and pretty high at 7.00. Smoketek has a 10% off coupon. Liberty-Flights has I think it is 20% off and it is on their website in the upper left hand corner. Not sure if Stormy has a coupon going right now and don't believe romaniac has any coupons right now.

So.....
Lecig.... 15% off I think but not sure, will have to find that and free shipping.
Stormys Vapor Cellar... no coupon I'm aware of right now reasonable shipping rates.
Smoketek..... 10% off and reasonable ship option.
Libertiy-Flights 20% off and reasonable shipping.
Romaniac.... no coupon... high shipping.
