| Well I new to modding and I am glad I found this thread! I have 8 shipments approved and on their way with tracking numbers and all! Everything from leds cases some boards I will have to learn about and some potentiometers. Still have not found that elusive free soldering iron or solder or batteries. But I am actively looking! Hopefully someone can help learn what to do with some of the parts y'all said to order! The one company said they don't allow sample orders over $100 so I ordered $99 worth of boxes! It's gonna be like Christmas in the mail box soon! I actually had someone call me and wanted to know what I was going to do with the parts. I just told them the truth, and they said it sounded it like good idea we ship straight away. Good luck.
Thanks for this website! I am addicted to finding free stuff! Like I needed another addiction on top of my motorcycles, vaping, beer making, wine making, and computers. Now if I could get some samples of some serious motorcycle parts I need!!! |

| Thats pretty small for a meter...even if you take the header off it will take up close to half the box

| I will for sure Shek! I will include pictures too because sometimes these forums just need a little eye candy! I'm sorry people were jerks with what you were trying to do on the other page. I posted that, and not sure if you saw it. People pay for information all the time or Barnes and Noble wouldn't be in business!!!! I would have gladly paid for the information, but now I feel that is taking the easy way out! Got any handy hints about how you got a free sample of tools??? Such as solder soldering iron and such???? I did find a sample for protected batteries that if it goes through I will post the link! Thanks for the info again though. |

I was using them a lot, and they work well, they carry a lot of current (3A) but they develop this problem where pushing straight down makes a "bouncy" connection; ie if you looked at the output with a scope it cycles on-off-on-off-on-off rapidly. You have to push it a little from the side to make it connect properly. Kind of like self-induced Pulse Width Modulation....

| i nixed this as a vaping mod
i am positive that the meter Rocketman uses in his mods(like in mine) will fit comfortable into this little box.
might work..might not but would make a nice voltage indicator Quote:

If you're only going to make one or two mods, the $17 Weller from Home Depot will suffice. Of course, you can get new tips for it...but not at Home Depot!
I still am looking for a decent one, but I'm spoiled. When I started working in Electronics I had a new Weller, and always had one wherever I worked. I need to see what's up with the two I have...one the pen broke, and the other the pen doesn't heat up, but it could be the pen is shot. The base might still work. But you can't just walk into WalMart and buy a new pen!
The one the pen broke on is a variable heat regulated model that goes from 100-800 degrees. I think the pen alone is ~$75.
