Really surprised me to see SupaT use an o-ring to compensate for the gap left on the smaller mod. Kinda cheesy looking on such a nice mod eh.

Well I thought the external o-ring looked fine. I was surprised how fiddly those PVs were in general, washers here, internal o-ring swaps there.

The whole Kick thing is a bit odd, anyone who has played with those little single turn trimmers knows how tricky they can be to dial in. The wattage adjustments will be rather coarse, and opening it up to tweak it seems like a pain.

I believe it will have a 10W limit, pretty low in today's scheme of things.

Where does Evolv or Super-T say it'll be a 10-watt limit?

That's just the world on the street based on the betas that were out for testing. Remember boosters are always rather limited compared to step-down regs. The plan was a drop in unit for 18650 tubes, but with an 18500.

It's not a big deal, but I always prefer a little head room with anything I use.

The little quicky VV mod I just built tops out at 2.64A, but I would not want to use it balls-out like that 24/7.

They originally said it was to be $30, at that price I'd buy one and knock out a quick copper tube mod about 15mm longer so as to use it with an 18650.

My original has about ~7mm 'too much' copper.

But if it gets to $50 I'll pass.

Just spoke with David at Super-T and he's stated that they do not have an estimated release date, but they suspect it'll be around the first of the year.

I responded by requesting additional information about the final performance of the modules that will be made available for sale....

So let's see what he says?

No response from Super-T requesting any additional information.

But I did notice that their battery & freight prices are much lower than everyone else that I've seen.

So if you're looking for a good price on AW batteries, Super-T has what you'll need.

I agree, but it was this one, in particular, that really surprised me...

A 10440 High Drain rated at 350 mah?

Just finding one was a shocker!

I feel lucky now. almost any time I go to the store, I'm less than a mile from the Lighthound store. I'll renew all my batteries before we leave here in a few months. Timing should be about right.

Well there is a guy on the CandlePower forums who sells them, and always fresh.

I think his name is Andrew Wan.

Also.

http://rtdvapor.com/BATTERIES_c3.htm

http://www.oveready.com/batteries-chargers/cat_13.html

But the whole AW thing is so over blown, their Li-Ions are quite expensive and I'm seeing folks using pairs of IMR 18650s in regulated mods. I'm not going to be lugging 2 18650's and getting only 1600mAh outta them.

I superimposed two of the latest tests.

The Tenergy 2600 Li-Ion over the AW 2600 Li-Ion (which cost almost double.

Confusing? Basically the two reds are the Tenergy traces and the two aqua the AW. 2A drain is like using a ~1.8Ω atty. We often hear about the accurate mAh ratings with AW's, yet here we see that the Tenergy is actually higher.

I snatched some from the eBay guy while he still had the protected ones, their protection circuit is also supposed to be top notch.

Oh that was YOU, huh?

Figured its was somebody in modding, cuz Marrs sold those lots super fast!!

Had my eye on one of the (12) lots.

BTW...Super-T & Candlepower Forum was the comparison in price that I was referring to:

http://www.cpfmarketplace.com/mp/sho...read-*Part-12*

Super-T is cheaper.

Marrs Inc.

But all the goodie and GONE!!

You can still get their unprotected cells with no tabs, but the tabbed and protected versions are SOLD OUT!

http://www.ebay.com/sch/marrsinc/m.h....c0.m270.l1313

I posted a link to these either in the free component thread or the coop thread....

Put them in your favorite sellers list and check back often, cuz they'll have more of the goodies coming later!!

That graph does not accurately depict ECIG usage.. That test was using flashlights as a source load. Constant on to runout and does not account for time off. And a carto coil is a different type of load than a HO LED. I have seen similar graphs where those measurements are way reversed showing Tenergy being the low end as well. There are quite a few Ecig battery tests I have stumbled across that do put the LiFePo4 (not 3) as an acceptable battery for use. And hey.. They are supposedly much safer..

well I see what you saying WW but at the same token over all mah is still relational even if you start and stop..actually I would think a constant drain would tell me a little more then on off testing...but I could be wrong..not up on this near as much as I would like to be..but I have been looking into it more and more..

Me 2.. Almost everything I know about Lith bats has been learned in the last few months. Done a LOT of reading. But you know what they say about what you read. (enormous Irony there eh)

How about this. I did some real world amp testing on different types of bats last night. Wanna know what I found? Trust is betta than Ultra. I am thinking I will do some AW Lipo4s for a 6+v mod pretty soon. Usually when something is more expensive its better I have found. Not always but most of the time. I did read a bat round up pitting the AW vs Tenergy Lipos on a Ecig recently. It was close but the AWs one out.

When you have a wholesale operation/vendors you don't want to undercut them.

Got an insider tip sent to me directly on the Kick.

Looks like JJ is right again, 10 watt maximum seems to be the chosen design for production.

NHaler will be the first vendor to sell the Kick at $45, which should be selling very soon.

Various mod manufacturers are in the process of redesigning current designs to accommodate the Kick on future sales.

Hope they reduce the price after the initial onslaught, cuz that's a lil' spendy for such a limited wattage.

Hope their warranty backs up that $45 gamble!
